Hess Physical Therapy-Allison Park

I started at Hess Physical Therapy at their Allison Park location about a month ago. In our first appointment, Dr. Boyd took a lot of time asking questions and listening. He had me do different things and asked how they felt. He observed how I walked and stood. He really dug in and figured out what was needed in order to help. Then he clearly and carefully explained the goals of the therapy he was going to help me with. As we go he has continued to explain things and to listen. I very much appreciate the thoughtful communicative approach being taken. Also, the administration of the practice is well organized and efficient. They are easy to deal with and friendly.

After my Knee replacement surgery in July 2023, I selected Hess Therapy. Dr Tyler Boyd has been my therapist for the last 3 months. He is an outstanding therapist who has helped me tremendously during this difficult period. He has worked to help me recover in spite of my medical and age related problems. In addition to his expertise, Tyler is an extremely caring and personable individual. His interpersonal skills are exemplary. What is most unusual are his empathy and personal care seldom found in a professional so young. Thanks to him, I am doing much better. I also want to mention Diane at the front desk. She is efficient and is sunshine personified. Also,, Kristy (Dr Tyler's associate),, Dr Steve and all the staff who have provided personal attention in my recovery were very good. I would recommend Dr Tyler and the entire team. They deserve an A+ rating for their excellent performance because they care..

Hess Physical Therapy in Allison Park helped me to learn how to relieve neck and upper back back pain through targeted physical manipulation and exercises that I am able to fit into my everyday activities. I was educated on what is happening with my neck and how the techniques and exercises work together to manage pain areas. The atmosphere is welcoming and accommodating to the individual. I plan to return for future therapy needs. Thanks!

The care I've received at Hess has been exceptional! Dr. Eric is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and he provides amazing one-on-one support to each patient. His individualized approach has significantly reduced my pain. He's also very patient when answering questions and explaining his reasons for recommending certain exercises. I'm very grateful for Dr. Eric's help and for all of the tools he's provided me with to continue improving.

Also, Diane at the front desk is absolutely amazing! She is so kind and always goes above and beyond to accommodate scheduling needs, answer insurance questions, and to assist patients however she can. I would highly recommend Hess Physical Therapy.

Dr Eric is a great professional and an excellent physical therapist. I've been with many physical therapists and not a one of them had performed the outcomes I received through Hess and Dr. Eric. His, so to speak "bedside manners", are excellent. His initial evaluation was spot on and his follow up treatments/exercises did the trick. In a rather short amount of time by back/sciatica pain has been relieved. I was given printouts of therapy exercises to do at home... in short, I'm very pleased. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend Hess and in particular, Dr Eric. My go to physical therapist for any future needs.

Dr Tyler cares for your needs and is very concerned about helping you get on the path to recovery. Very much appreciate his time.

Was visiting for an extended period and needed PT for a sports sustained injury. Eric was phenomenal and came up with a plan of action from the first visit. My pain went away and I got a ton of awesome exercises to help me improve in areas I am weak. Eric is very personable and professional and I looked forward to working with him every visit. I would recommend Hess PT to anyone looking for an inclusive and supportive environment that will get you back to feeling yourself.

I recently went in for lower back pain about a month ago. I have never felt more relieved. I started PT with Dr. Eric and within the first couple of days I noticed less pain. He provided me with extremely helpful exercises that led to a drastic difference in my pain level. He truly knows what makes a difference and helps in every way. Not only is he a great PT, he’s very easy to talk to and funny! I would highly recommend going to see Eric at the Allison Park office. Best music too:)

I received physical therapy for my shoulder from Dr. Eric. He has helped me greatly in a short period of time. He’s excellent at listening and developing a comprehensive plan to relieve my specific issues and to provide stretches and guidance for me to help myself throughout the process. He is very easy to talk to. Don’t just live with chronic pain. You’ll be happy if you seek PT for your pain/stiffness.

I've done physical therapy in the past, but my experience with Dr Eric was beyond my expectations. He is very knowledgeable and explains everything so I can easily understand what's going on and implement exercises etc into my daily life to fix the muscle imbalances in my neck, shoulders, and back from about 15-20 years of sitting without good posture and lifting with bad form.

If you are experiencing any issues I would highly recommend going to Hess to see Dr Eric for an evaluation as soon as possible.

My experience at Hess PT has been EXCELLENT and beyond my expectations. I've never done PT before, so was skeptical at first. My therapist, Eric, is extremely knowledgable and deeply experienced which gave me much confidence. Not only providing therapy physically for my body and functional movement/strength, but also the education and learning Eric has provided through his explanations during each exercise. I have been going to Dr. Eric to alleviate my lower back pain. He has provided me with many different techniques to strengthen and eliminate the pain in my back. His staff is very friendly and accommodating to fit your schedule. Dr Eric is also very knowledgeable in helping you with your physical therapy needs. Dr. Eric comes highly recommended when it comes to helping patients with physical therapy.

Dr. Eric is exceptional at pinpointing sources of pain and providing the direction needed to strengthen those areas. I went from having muscle pain while sitting for extended periods of time, sleeping and while walking to a point of being able to get back to running. I would highly recommend Hess PT!

I went to Hess in Allison Park for problems in my right butt/hip area. When I came for my first appointment, I could hardly walk, sit, or even drive because I was in so much pain. I met with Dr. Eric, and I am so glad I did! Each session that I went to him, I loved that he taught me different exercises and listened each time as I would come in to where the pain was, and work on new exercises. I am so excited to report that in a matter of weeks, I am able to walk normally, sit comfortably, and drive without pain. He literally is amazing and really cared about helping me get back to normal. Dr. Eric is super knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you so much for everything you do Dr. Eric, and to Diane at the front desk for both being so wonderful!

Due to multiple surgeries in the past couple years, two specifically on my hip and a spinal fusion, my recovery is not straight forward. To fix my type of issues, it takes a certain kind of person. Due to all the trauma my body has been through and chronic pain, I am weary of anyone trying to help because 1. I need to feel comfortable and assured that the person helping me is knowledgeable and skilled and 2. I feel comfortable in their care. The truth is that without those two things, my body is too tense to even release muscles or accept the help. I basically stop going (I have been to 10 different PTs) if those things are not there for me. Even if I feel weird vibes, I’m out…

My goal is to treat the the root cause, not just address symptoms. I feel Dr. Eric does that perfectly for me. He is a great listener, is constantly shifting gears for all my random issues and is very confident with his manipulations, even when it’s painful… I know when I leave his office, I am not in pain anymore! He’s the real deal!! I have recommended him multiple times to others.

I had shoulder surgery in February and started PT with Dr Eric in April. He is always so kind and professional! He has helped with my recovery and is always encouraging me to push myself toward a full recovery. He is very knowledgeable and skilled. He is very easy to talk to and answers any questions I have and explains things so you understand the process. I would highly recommend Dr Eric at the Allison Park office! He also plays great music!

I went to Hess Physical Therapy for back pain which was preventing me from doing basic activities like driving, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. I also strive to workout 4 or 5 times a week which wasn't possible due to my back pain. Dr. Eric gave me significant pain relief within the first few weeks of treatment which allowed me to resume all of my normal activities, including my workout routine. I've been to physical therapy over the years for various issues but my experience at Hess was by far the best. Dr. Eric gives you personal attention during your entire therapy session. I've been to other physical therapy clinics where they've had me basically go through the exercises with very little supervision. Dr. Eric was the exact opposite in that he supervised all of my exercises which allowed him to correct any mistakes I was making. He's also a very "hands on" therapist in terms of the manual work he does. He stretched me out and did a number of manipulations to correct my misalignments. He's very knowledgeable and also just a super nice guy. Kelly oversees the front of the clinic and she does a wonderful job scheduling and making you feel welcome. She also helped work me into the schedule several times when I had scheduling conflicts. I would recommend Dr. Eric and Kelly to any of my family or friends that might need physical therapy.

Started with Hess and Dr. Eric because of shoulder surgery. Wasn't expecting much to rehabilitation, getting my shoulder/arm back to "normal" was the objective. Could not have asked for a better outcome. Dr. Eric puts you through your paces but the end result is well worth the effort. He's not afraid to try different techniques to move you along. That's the key, continued forward progress. Now the "broken" shoulder works better than the other one! If I ever need physical therapy again I'll only go to Hess and Dr. Eric.

Dr. Eric is an exceptional physical therapist! He is extremely skilled at finding the exact area of pain and targeting that. His manual massage and manipulation techniques are very effective. I am extremely impressed by his attentiveness to making sure I do the exercises correctly and making adjustments as need to target the right muscle. I highly recommend Dr. Eric!

Had a fabulous experience here at Hess Physical Therapy. Came into the office for the first time with reservations because of my pain level. Dr. Eric provided an excellent service that I will recommend to anyone and everyone I hear that needs to go through the process of PT for their injuries. You get a one-on-one time slot where he devotes all his focus onto your need’s instead of multitasking and hopping from one patient to another. He is hands on and will teach you in detail about your specific injury so that you understand the anatomy of what’s involved. I learned about my injury in a way that I wasn’t expecting and now that I have graduated from PT I have the tools to continue the process on my own. Dr. Eric has given me my confidence back and has brought me to a level of function that didn’t seem possible given the extent of my injury. Highly recommend
