Frankstown Wood-Fired Pizza

Until now I had 4 pizza shops I loved in Pittsburgh....after trying this one I now have 5!! We got a Bianco and a Margherita pizza and also a piece of Lasagna. Everything was very good and I'd even say it was excellent! I was surprised on the pricing because I was going from another photo of a menu on Google that apparently is old. I'm including a photo of a new one along with the food we got. We'll definitely be back to try more from this little gem in Penn Hills!!!

Love love love Frankstown Wood fired Pizza! I crave it everyday. My boyfriend and I like the margarita pizza. So much so that we get it about once a week. Workers and owners are very kind and make delicious food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients of both the toppings and dough in every bite. If you can make it there before it’s gone their fresh baked bread is wonderful!! I recommend and tell people about this place all the time. I would give them 100 stars if I could ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Small place, but the pizza is AMAZING. Fresh ingredients.. wood fired oven.. great. Olives were a bit too salty but other than that, everything else was great

Amazing time capsule. Authentic Italian pizza. East coast flavor. Friends and family love this place. Great service and value. One wish if it had a eat in dinning area so you can eat and smell the wood fire oven. Pizza hoagie subs and fresh lasagna. Chow bella

This was my first time getting take out from this pizza shoppe. My pizza was ready in a timely manner during rush hour on a Friday. The shoppe was very busy. I liked that you could actually see the pieces of wood and the oven as soon as you walk in. You can also see pizzas being prepared from scratch. I purchased a small pasta salad and the Bianco pie with sausage. The pizza was delicious. I enjoyed the crust and overall smoky flavor of the pie. The pizza tasted authentic and homemade. The pasta salad was pretty tasty as well. I am told that the hoagies are delicious. Considering how much I enjoyed the pizza, I will try some of their hoagies on my next visit.

You know that small pizza place that doesn't have a ton of options but they do everything right from the crust to the sauce? This is that place. They know what good pizza is to be sure. Cash only but that's how these smaller places survive. Definitely recommend.

Frankstown Wood Fire Pizza is absolutely terrific! Our favorites include the margherita pizza, the piping hot fresh baked break and the macaroni salad (just like Nana used to make)! However, there's lots of choices -- from hoagies, sauces, homemade salads, baked street breads aaaaaand .... Italian Ices! Everything is very reasonably priced and reliably prepared; hot and ready for pick up in short order. The owners, and everyone that works at Frankstown Pizza, are simply great. Driving by it seems like such an unassuming little place ... but take it from us ... there's nothing like this local gem. Really! If we could give this TEN STARS, we would.

Great pizza and hoagie, the staff and owners are very friendly. Definitely worth trying if you have never tried it.

The only pizza place worth recommending in Allegheny county, I mean it.

The pizza was excellent and had a very nice crispy crust. I expected this place to be expensive given how higher it’s rated but it was not. This might be the lowest priced high quality wood fired pizza in town.

It’s mostly a carry out place but they do have some tables outside.

There is no delivery and it’s cash only, you will see an old man cooking the pizzas which I assume is the owner while his daughters run the shop

Take out of some italian, homemade,specialties, such ad soups, grenns &beans, pizza and homemade bread. This is nit dine in.

Fantastic food!! Fantastic people!! You can't go wrong picking something up.

I've been eating from this place for years and never have I been disappointed!
Love the people and the food

I love the bread and other items like cheese Raviolis and Some specialty pizzas. We have been getting bread from here since they opened. It's been a mist have at dinner at our house. Being Italian means we eat lots of bread with every meal, and what's better then a warm loaf of bread!

5 stars says enough. Probably some of the best wood-fired pizza I have ever had. Also the sauce is unreal, surprised they don’t charge for more their pies. LOVE IT!!!

I had a margherita pizza with pepperoni. Outrageously good. 10 stars.

Honestly the best place I ate in the 12 years I have been in PA.

As God is my witness, I ate their Italian footlong (2 actual footlongs for $13) and after I did I haven't bit into a subway sub since. I used to eat subway every day or two.

After I ate what a true sub tastes like subway tasted like I was eating paper. It literally changed my life.

Also the family that owns and runs it are sent straight from heaven. They will do whatever they can to accommodate your Strange eating habits. They are a beautiful little happy place, God bless them all !!
