Della Sala's Pizza

We love Della Sala’s!! I’ve been enjoying their pizza for over 35 years! They’re sauce is great and hasn’t changed since I can remember as a kid. Great family owned pizza shop. Always lots of toppings. They have the best sausage in the area hands down! I also love that they offer uncooked pizzas too. Perfect for parties, etc. buy em beforehand and throw them in the oven the morning of the party. They are awesome!

Been a decade or more since I have had a slice. Decided to stop by while in town visiting family. As usual Della Sala’s does not disappoint. I had 2 cheese 2 pepperoni 2 sausage. Still tastes awesome! I love crunchy crust too. Great pizza. Great people !! Thanks

Delicious pizza, not fancy, no frills, no delivery, but excellent pizza! They use an antique pizza oven, family owned, been in business for at least 50 years. Been ordering pizza here for over 30 years, it's definitely worth the drive to Verona! I don't get pizza anywhere else

Finally tried it after living almost next door to this shop of over a year. Their parking lot is never empty when they are open, which I guess should have told me something. I really was not sure what I was going to get based on the descriptions of the pizza by other people I knew and the odd way you order it. I ordered 6 cuts, fully cooked, each with 2 toppings. It cost me just under $10 (yes it is cash only) and was ready in 15 minutes. It was fresh and hot when I got home. Just a 5 minute walk for me. Really enjoyed it. The sausage which is much praised is really good. Spicy but not over the top. I also had banana peppers, mushrooms and pepperoni. Each slice had a nice amount of toppings not too much and not too little. The cheese is not the star of the show here and there is less of it than you usually see on a pizza but it works. Biting into this did not have everything sliding off the top and landing on your plate or in your lap. The crust is lovely. Soft and chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. I was fortunate enough to get a couple of corner slices so I had some little "pizza bones" with which to pay the dog tax. Otherwise these slices don't leave you with uneaten rolls of crust.

I did not expect to love this pizza but it turns out it really is that good.

This place was recommended to me by a friend, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Great service, chatted with one of the owners. He shared his families beginnings, starting with his Nana’s exceptional recipes. They use quality ingredients… then they add pure love, respect and consistency in the food that they put forth daily. Great people, great story and great pizza. The dough was light and crispy, a perfect mix so the toppings can shine! Cash only. A definite must if you’re in Verona!

We grew up on this pizza and our kids will a well!! Their pizza is genuinely so good, 100/10 and the people are always so nice. Highly recommend!!

The pizza here is a Sicilian style crust, not greasy, balanced flavors, really nice crust with a subtle crunch and light pillowy texture. No seats - they don't need em'. No appetizers - they don't need em'. No delivery, they don't need to!

I've been eating great pizza at this place for 60 years. Though not fancy, the atmosphere and service are superb. It's a neighborhood store. Everyone's comfortable.

So so so good. Salty, cheesy, crispy deliciousness. You can get a full baked pie or one that’s half baked to finish at home. Slices are a dollar a piece plus more for toppings. Can’t go wrong with extra cheese. Cash only. Friendly staff with lots of personality. Lol thanks for the laugh with my name. Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Small little diamond in the rough. A no frills type of pizza joint!

This place was recommended by a family in the neighborhood that has lived near here for years before us, and highly recommend we try for local pizza. This is one of those rare, truly no-nonsense, cash only, good places to eat.

Quick, and to the point, I was asked what my order was so they could get it in the oven for me. As a newbie walking into this off the road pizza place, I fully appreciated the direction of ordering when I first walked in.

While waiting on my order to bake, every nod to a genuine pizza parlor popped out at me; the old register with the wooden drawer, the nostalgic cola sign menus, the stacks of pizza boxes on the counter. This place is no doubt authentic.

PRO TIP 1: Park thinking about how you will want to safely drive away when you leave- it's a tricky exit for new patrons.

PRO TIP 2: This place is cash only, and you pay at the end; be prepared, and be patient to pay when they ask you. I made the mistake of interrupting the guy prepping my food to get my drink, and slowed down my own order.

PRO TIP 3: Yes, the sausage is spicy. No, it's not too spicy. Yes, you should try it.

Fond memories of Dad bringing home Della Salas Pizza...his FAVORITE place! BEST PIZZA in the burgh! Family owned and friendly! By the slice or by the pie, or half baked to finish at home. FIRST place we go when we get back to the BURGH!

Always brings back memories from my childhood (I’m soon to be 60). When in town Della Sala’s is always a stop. This time I picked up 24 slices to bring back to my sons who live in Ohio. They love Della Sala’s as much as I do!

Wow, just wow. Old school vibe, super friendly. Great Sicilian style pizza. Highly recommend.

Buy by the slice perfection. Since I usually get this to take home I get it half-baked and it's perfect with a few minutes in the toaster oven. Long time staple in my household. I hate that I can only get it when I come home but I never pass it up!

2024- cannot be beaten. Inhaled 3 squares in the parking lot before my trip back across the state back to the land of sad pizza. My dad was mad that I didn't bring him any, even though he lives here! We all love Della Sala's 🍕🖤💛💚🤍❤

Must try pizza, I've been eating it since I was a kid. Quite possibly the best Sicilian pizza ive ever had. Got to get the half bake also to cook at home and get it fresh out the oven. Wonderful family run the place as well so please support, your tummy will thank you!

Della Sala's is an old school, pizza joint with counter service. Easy to find with GPS, Della Sala is nestled away in Verona. The staff are great people. And the pizza is so good! They keep it simple and there is no need to change a thing. Absolutely would get again!

Awesome home town Pizza joint! By the "cut"(slice) or a whole pie! Can't be beaten!

Did yinz change the sauce ?? We drive 2 1/2 hours for the pizza .. my dad grew up eating this zaa best zaa in the burgh
