I had the spring roll and basil fried rice (spice level 4 out of 5). There were 6 spring rolls per plate - it was very crunchy and the filling was flavorful. The fried rice had just the right amount of sauce and spice. The vegetables were well cooked.
Overall ambience of the place was satisfying. The interior had good lighting, calm music, and gave an authentic Thai vibe.

I’ve came to Thai Tamarind several times for dinner every time was absolutely amazing. The Hot Thai Chicken Wings are always cooked to perfection and the Combination Pad Thai is my favorite in the Pittsburgh area. The lunch special is awesome as well. I started with Wonton Soup and Crab Rangoon. The Wonton Soup was full of fresh vegetables and three nice size wontons. Of course I got the Combination Pad Thai it came with your choice of soup or salad and a spring roll. Pleasant atmosphere the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back!!

The place is adorable. Small staff that was really nice and attentive. She manages the dining room and take out but balanced it well. The food was really delish and fresh. I had shrimp and scallop and fried egg roll. It is BYOB with no stem charge. Will definitely go back

My wife's go to for take out. Their dishes are are good. I enjoy their noodle soups especially the crispy duck noodle soup. The curries are very good as well. I had this place rated at 4 stars, but after 2 recent visits and very good meals, it deserves a loved it.

There is something very authentic about the taste of this food. I love it, especially the cashew nut dishes and crab rangoon. Thai spring rolls can be hit or miss, sometimes a bit underdone, but everything else is delicious and comes in fresh, sizeable portions.

Stopped for lunch yesterday and now wish I lived closer. Our waitress was very helpful. The pad thai was delicious and I got 2 meals from it. The restaurant is small and cozy. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

SUPERB AUTHENTIC THAI in the Pittsburgh area, a short 15 min drive from downtown. Cozy restaurant with no-touch menu, short and sweet. It looks a popular spot to locals of many persuasions. Takeout or sit in (I have done both), it’s simply excellent food. A FOODIE’S GEM.

Start with Fresh Rolls and Fried Eggplant, contrasting but complementary textures and sweet tangy sauces that wake up the palate (very much unlike the cliche peanut sauce in the run of mill Thai-style places.

Any of the curry entrees are very good, smooth well-balanced sauces; none of that pungent sugar-loaded curry so common in so-called Thai restaurants in this town.

My recommendation: Duck Curry, very crispy well seasoned perfectly cooked duck atop the smooth Red curry with bell peppers and cherry tomatoes, carefully balanced with two halves of lychee just enough to brighten the palate: Simply Wow!

Pair the curry with any of the Thai stir fry veggies. I’m partial to the Hot Basil fry, extra veggies (natural sweetness of the fresh vegetables complemented with their brown sauce).

By the way, enjoy Thai food with a spoon rather than fork/knife. Spoon the curry or veggies on rice, mix, then enjoy. Spoon allows one to taste every drop of the sauce.

Great service!

We ordered take out, and it was delicious. The trio curry was our favorite, and it includes a lot more than you can find at other restaurants. I found the food to be the perfect amount of spice at level 3 (has a kick but you can still taste all the flavors). Both portions were large which makes up for the mid-range price. I would 100% recommend ordering the curry from here.

Wonderful environment and delicious food. Zeta, our server, was ON IT. So sweet and attentive. First time here even though my home is so close, and I’m so happy to know I can get such authentic food nearby. They’ve definitely earned a loyal customer!
PS. Try the spring rolls, I got a surprise one with my salad and I liked it so much I ordered a whole side.

First off, it's a beautiful restaurant with an amazing ambiance. There's flowers everywhere, beautiful decor and they had lovely music playing. Food was at great pricing and we had a ton of leftovers to take home. Service was great. Officially my favorite Thai place.

I have come here weekly since moving nearby it's so so good. Despite coming so often I haven't eaten anything other than their curries because they are so good I can't convince myself to try their other dishes. I had a friend visit who tried their pad Thai and he said it was good, but I cannot stop raving about their curries. I've tried the panang, yellow, masaman, and red curries and between them I have been so satisfied I haven't bothered thinking about anything else on the menu. Such a rich and delicious fish sauce curry is just too good. For most Americans I recommend spice level 2 for mild and 3 for hot. I regularly cook with habanero and 4 is definitely hot so 5 is gonna be pretty extreme. This place is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh <3

Absolutely delicious. I can't stop talking about it. The best Penang curry I have had in a decade. Spice was spot on. Loved the soup and the spring roll that came with the lunch. Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely lovely! My friend and I often pass this little nook of a Thai place. It was really our luck to stop in. The duck was absolutely amazing and crispy. Their curries steal the entire show. Lovely little well lit place. Delicious food and I'm so excited to spend more money there!!

One of the best places I’ve been to. Great options for your favorites but also a good place to try new things. Personally I love duck and am glad they have a lot of options featuring it. Also all of my vegetarian/vegan friends are happy to go here as they have a wide range of options. Definitely recommend eating in as opposed to take out/delivery- their kitchen set up does seem to favor in house guests. Take out has always been great, but I’ve noticed Uber tends to mess up orders, and dining in definitely tastes better. Parking can be a little tricky but that’s not unexpected for Pittsburgh.
Overall a fantastic, little spot for date night or just for a weeknight dinner.

Quaint and cozy BYOB with fabulous Thai food and even kinder service. prices very reasonable. Best crab ragoons I have ever tasted! All curry dishes fabulous, but green is my favorite. Fresh seafood added to all curry dishes. Pad Thai best ever!

We are visiting Pittsburgh and already have been here for couple months. There are not that many places in Pittsburgh that serve high quality Thai foods. We would appoint as the Top notch Thai restaurant. Great atmosphere, music and all the decorations are nice-looking. Comfy seats. Ambience makes for a great date spot for two of us!!!

My wife and i went there for lunch, She was craving for some Pad Thai (She has celiac disease) She was able to eat Pad Thai there. It was really delicious, love how there is good amount of peanut on top. I got Duck curry, it’s the BEST CURRY I HAVE EVER HAD well-balanced served with cutie heart shape rice. Portions are big too

Our Waitress is very friendly, accommodating, and she is also being very patience on explaining everything on the menu to us (since it’s out first time dining here)

Heads up, there was a construction going on at that time. We literally can’t park in the front so we had to walk a bit up. There is not a lot parking space, limited to about 3-4 cars in the front so finding a parking spot here can be tricky, but we made it, No big deal

Consequently, you know it WORTH IT, FANTASTIC foods and service. Prices are reasonable. We are beyond happy to have lunch here today. Recommended!!!

Incredible restaurant. I tried the Duck Tamarind and my wife had the Orange chicken. We were able to choose how hot we wanted our food from 0 to 5; she chose 1 and the heat wasn't noticeable at all. I chose a 2 which was very subtle. Just what we wanted; it was nice to have the option. Everything was delicious; first time trying Thai food
