HUGE selection in a small space. You don't need to get your steps in here, easy to find anything. Staff is kind, happy and helpful. They have been happy to do special orders also even without me asking. Highly recommended.

There was once a dark and cold time in my life when I did not have a reliable beer outlet. It was circa 2021 when myself and my beloved wife Emily moved back to our ancestral home of Pittsburgh. In our previous arrangement, we had access to some of the best beers on the east coast. However, when we moved back here, we were stuck and wanting! There were…. some options for delicious beers. We could probably forage around our local distributors for the occasional craft hit, but nothing with a reliable, consistent slew of selection that could scratch the boozy brain itch we would get once a weekend. For us, this was about more than beer… this was about adventure.

Well lo and behold, a close associate of mine recommended we peruse the dark alleys of Glenshaw for a mysterious “Hartwood”. Truth be told, we did not live very close to Glenshaw and it was not somewhere we would go for no reason, but our interests were piqued by such a gleaming recommendation.

When we arrived, I felt like I had seen the inside of the briefcase at the end of “Pulp Fiction.” Not only was there a wide selection of macros available that would satisfy the taste of most patrons, but there was a dedicated network of craft bangers that would soothe the hoppy tooth of any IPA lover. Once I found myself near the back cooler, I finally knew I had found my home. Every time I go to hartwood beer now, I am always fulfilled by the sheer amount of options and exotic tastes afforded to beer lovers like myself.

This “beer home” is further accentuated by the outstanding customer service and willingness of employees to track down any beer you could ever hope for. I love you, Hartwood Beer.

Hardwood beer packs an incredible variety into their store. Their employees taste test most, if not all, beer that comes through the door so they have a real knowledge of taste and quality. Hartwood Beer also offers 6 packs and singles so if you're not sure you're going like a new beer, you are not forced to buy a case. Wonderful place. Employees help you take your selections to your vehicle as well!

The BEST selection of beers from local breweries in the City of Pittsburgh- from IPAs to Stouts to Sours. They also carry Mama Beer Kombucha. If they do not have something, they will order it. The employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. Treat them as such.

Great selection of craft beer and amazingly knowledgeable and friendly staff. I love these guys! I always make sure to stop in when I’m in the area and I am never disappointed. As far as pricing goes... try living in NYC! These prices are awesome. I noticed that they do have better pricing on the few good beers “Beer for Less” actually carries and for the size difference, that’s incredible. Keep up the good work.

Favorite beer store in the burgh. Love all the local brews, and the hand-picked six packs by the owner. Always something new when I come in, and I love being surprised. Super friendly, knowledgeable and all around good vibes!

Excellent selection compared to nearly every other place that's within a reasonable distance to Butler. Prices are fair, in this reviewer's opinion, considering the selection and what I imagine is not an easy task competing with bigger distributors.

Really nice and local beer store. The staff knows what they are talking about, they can answer any question! Very wide range to choose from, they have beer here that you cant find anywhere in the area. They hang up various posters of beer events in the area. Definitely stop in to check it out. Always new beer in stock. And seasonal and hard to find items as well!

A very wide selection of beers both domestic and craft. They bring in many of the local breweries beers and if ever there is something you're looking for they will try and obtain it for you. All the staff are great and possess a plethora of beer need knowledge. Awesome establishment.

A jewel. A small shop with everything on the spectrum from traditional American favorites to sampling of all craft trends. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Best in the area.
