Four Winds Gallery

This place has been around for a long time, and it just continues to get better with age. Four years ago I respected their offerings but couldn't find anything that suited me. Two years ago a vintage bracelet 'jumped' off the shelf at me. Today, I couldn't make a choice between all the things that appealed to me. The store was bustling. Good vibes. I worked with Evan who was more than a salesman: A curator. This place is next level.

Our family lived and worked in the mountain Southwest for fifteen years. During those years we were privileged to know a number of preeminent Navajo and Hopi silversmiths. We made constant efforts to learn about the Native arts, and art history, of the region. We moved to the Pittsburgh area recently, and we have been astonished to discover Four Winds Gallery. The quality of this gallery is equal to the very top galleries and even museums of Arizona and New Mexico that represent Native American artists. Artists and artisans shown at Pittsburgh's Four Winds - whether historic, modern or contemporary - are among the most significant. We are thrilled to count Four Winds among the "cultural bests" of our newly adopted region.

Nothing could have been easier; I ordered earrings made by one of my very favorite Native American artists. A couple of days later, they arrived, as promised. We have been patrons for over twenty years. In Santa Fe we found nice shops with much higher prices with lots of discounts and bargaining. Some people like that. I just never have the time or patience. Four Winds prices aren't cheap, but they are fair to the artists, because they keep coming back and their list keeps expanding. High quality isn't cheap and they have maintained it consistently over the years. It helps that John, Jody and others are so knowledgeable and willing to share it. Don't miss the only annual sale during the Shadyside Sidewalk Sale. I don't. Occasionally pleasant bargaining does break out.

Amazing art and unique jewelry. Wonderful owner and sales people who are very knowledgeable and take their time to help you find what you really like. Relaxed and fun atmosphere.

the most beautiful gallery and jewelry store in Pittsburgh with the NICEST sales people and owner. Other Shadyside shops should take lessons from this stores sales people. They are friendly, kind and very helpful, something most other boutiques in Shadyside lack!

Although there isn't an Isalys or a Krogers on Walnut Street, there is Four Winds Gallery, and for that we are thankful. It is truly a gallery of art -- art that can be worn or displayed, and sometimes both!

They are always very helpful and have items to meet any budget. As well their selection of vintage jewelry is amazing!
