Bought a strawberry cake for my partner and he loooved it as did I! As others have said not too sweet like many other bakeries. Reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!

This place is an absolute gem. They are always so kind and their pastries are delicious. I like both their savory and sweet buns. My favorites are probably the Japanese cotton cheesecake, green tea and red bean bun, coconut raisin pastry, pudding buns, red bean bun, and butter cream buns, but I haven't had one that I don't like. My husband really likes the red bean and mochi bun. The red bean is sweet and has a great texture.
We bought a whole Japanese cotton cheesecake for our one year wedding anniversary from here and it turned out spectacular. We come here about once a week for fresh bread and treats. We couldn't be happier with the food and service.

I love Pink Box! I try to stop in whenever I'm in Squirrel Hill and stock up on buns. Their hours run a bit later than your average bakery which is always a bonus. I recommend trying the cranberry toast, and the coconut buns are my favorite!

We love coming by here to get some baked goods. This place is lovely! We love the pork sung bun, hot dog buns, and the lotus yolk moon cakes the most! The macarons and bubble tea are also pretty good.

Love this place. Wonderful assortment of asian baked goods, excellent quality, good prices. I do wish they had more savory buns (would love to see a tuna bun here). The teas and cakes are also excellent.

I love their cakes. I think they are one of the best bakery in Pittsburgh.
Their cakes are not super sweet or heavy.
They used whipped cream which is awesome 🤩

Best bakery in Pittsburgh! If you love tasty food and drinks and supporting small businesses, this is the place for you. Their boba (especially the brown sugar boba) is the best in Squirrel Hill and their buns are so tasty and so cheap! I highly recommend the pineapple croissant - it’s to die for! Pink box is a must-go stop for me any time I’m in Squirrel Hill.

Grab a couple of pastries there today! Everything was amazing and super fluffy! I picked up the chicken sausage with green onion pastry, vegetable curry pastry, cheese pastry and coconut pastry. The staff was super friendly too!

I am not very familiar with Asian-style pastries but I picked up a light bun that was a very airy and had a cream that was buttery and not too sweet. So delicate and melt-in-your mouth. Apparently it is available in asweeter version but I preferred this and got one for my husband as well. He pulled apart the fluffy yellow bun with the little pocket of cream cheese-like filling and said it was the best thing he had ever gotten at a bakery.

Great Asian bakery. The breads are soft and flavorful without being overwhelming or greasy. Great selection, I really like the mochi and green onion breads. The cakes are deliciously fluffy and not too sweet. If you’re a face of ultra soft cake and whipped cream this is the place for you.

~Small shop with a friendly owner who makes many things fresh. They have a nice selection of asian bakery items to choose from. Some traditional sweets plus a wall of airy buns to choose from. There are sweet buns but also a savory bun selection too. They also have a small boba tea menu.
~The prices are good and they take multiple forms of payment. Since they are on the main street you have to park on the street or park nearby and walk a little.
~Favorite items include: honey tea, taro bun, taro mochi bun, and red bean mochi bun. (mochi buns best eaten warmed)

Very friendly, excellent quality, and she says there's no preservatives which is always nice for a quick treat. Will definitely come back. (If you get tea, it comes sweet unless you ask for it without sugar, but it's really good).

New to us type pastries. We bought a large variety for our dinner party to try. The staff was helpful and kind. While the pastry baskets were well marked when making the selections, no labels were on the packaging so by the time we got home we weren't completely sure of what we had tried. (Note we did have a gluten free guest and they had one cake option for her that she very much enjoyed)

Incredible and wonderful service! I ordered two teas today, and the woman working took the time to make fresh tea for my order, which I did not expect. She was also incredibly accommodating and offered to split up a package of egg tarts. For the price, this is also the most economical choice for boba milk tea in Pittsburgh. The milk tea was high quality, with bouncy and perfectly textured boba. I will be coming back here and look forward to trying their matcha!

Every time I go there and get something, it does taste homemade. I've probably eaten more Asian buns of different varieties than I can keep track of (numbering in the 100s now), and Pink Box's goods are unique. They don't dump a ton of sugar into everything, and the buns I buy from them are very nice and bread-y every time. I'm used to having sweet buns that have a somewhat over-salted/sugared and kind of flat bread layer, but their bread is nice and chewy every time. This lack of flavor-shortcuts means that each thing I've gotten there has its own sort of flavor complexity. My coworker who recommended this place actually makes French Toast out of their red bean bread, since it soaks up the egg and milk nicely. Also, the Taiwanese moon cakes they sell also have the indicative contrast between the outer pastry and the sweet filling. If I had to pick a downside, it's that their stuff needs to be eaten quickly after purchasing, but it goes to show that they don't load their food with preservatives like I'm used to seeing in a lot of bakeries.

The lady who runs it is very nice and helpful, as well, and took the time to explain the different taste points of their different sweet buns. I make a point of trying something new here every time I'm in Squirrel Hill.

They've been delicious from the day they opened! They have a wide variety and stay open late. I also like that they tend to stay fully stocked throughout the day, even close to closing time.
