Now Basecamp Books; I believe the shop is under new ownership, though they do still honor trade credit from previous business.

Had a great experience bringing in books for trade credit today. They offer 25% of the cover price of books you bring in for credit, which you can use to reduce the cost of in-store books by 50% (so a book marked at $4 would cost $2 trade credit and $2 out of pocket). Makes sense but I wanted to share as I wish I had known the process before coming in!

Great selection of fun books... would have come home with almost as many books as we traded in if my husband hadn't been with me to restrain me, haha!

Basecamp Books may have a new owner and name, but they're still stocking an amazing selection of used and rare books, with the same competitive prices that I loved when it was Hooked On Books! The new owner is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Can't wait to come back!

My friend and I went to Hooked on Books and had a wonderful experience. The women working was delightful and welcoming. She helped us find a book and was one of the sweetest people ever!!!

This bookstore gives you a family owned feeling the moment you walk through the door. I was immediately greeted by someone and they had my book order waiting for me behind the register. There's also a wide array of books for every type of reader!

Great used bookstore with a wide variety of books. One of my favorite book stores in Colorado Springs.

I walked in looking for something specific but found an unexpected treasure instead; a signed autobiography by Brooke Shields. Highly recommend. Definitely worth a wander.

I love this book store. It's hands down my favorite in all of Colorado Springs. Staff is always so friendly and helpful. Books have fair priced and there is a huge selection for all genres. They also buy books and have store credit for the books bought. Again, fair pricing and I've never had a bad experience here.

Love this bookstore! Very well run and very well organized inside. Someone always there to help you find something. Prices are fair and most of their used books are in like new condition.

Found an out of print, worth a ton book here. Can’t even find this used online. Best used book store that I’ve seen in the springs.

Amazing fiction stock. I was able to find books that no other stored in town had (new or used) and that I anticipated having to find online. Love this place.

I don't write reviews. However, I felt compelled to do so for this business. My wife and I used to be frequent customers of this store. Money was tight and used books were an easy way to stretch the entertainment budget. We went to a number of stores, but Hooked on Books became our favorite. Their customer service was always great and prices (as mentioned) were reasonable.

Life has changed. Money isn't as tight anymore, my wife and I do less reading, and many of my books I obtain from the library when I find time. I still stop in rarely to replace books from some of my favorite series that I loan to friends and coworkers and never get back. Today I went to replace yet another missing book and also to buy some Christmas presents. The place is smaller than it used to be, but the staff is still great and the atmosphere is just as cozy as I remember it. As I was leaving, I experienced an almost overwhelming feeling of gratitude remembering the time I spent in the store and the books they provided that got my family through rougher times.

We've known Mary and Shelley at Hooked on Books for years! We also went to the open house on 4/1/2023 for the official passing of the torch to Joe and Mikayla. Best wishes for many more years of wonderful books!

A well organized shop with very good condition used books. It's a nice mix of newer books with older, harder to find ones. They mostly carry paperbacks with a good smattering of hardcover. The staff is always friendly and know what they have in stock, a very useful thing in a store like this. The only thing missing is a cuddly, bookloving cat to sit with the local bookworms.

What a wonderful store to meander through. Something delightful on most every turn amidst all kinds of genres of book. Postcards, journals, old photos, rare books; beautiful bookmarks and greeting cards, even stationery! Definitely worth the visit!

There's a surprising amount of books to choose from, both used and a few new copies of popular books. There are greeting cards as well. I had a great first experience here, as I browsed (in no rush at all) I heard the employee at the register chatting with several customers and it was such a friendly atmosphere. I just happened to be in the area and I am glad I popped in, I would definitely recommend.
