I'd like to join all the wonderful comments about Surge Kickboxing and Trainers! It is an excellent gym with different types of martial arts programs for all levels, kids and adults, knowledgeable and incredible trainers, a variety of equipment, and great people! Fun, yet challenging workouts! They always greet you with a big smile, and it feels like a family!
It's been about a month since I've joined, and I love it here!

Can you imagine going to the same gym for a whole year and still looking forward to going?! I have played a lot of sports, and trained at a lot of gyms, and I have never had a place that continues to support, challenge and keep it fun the way the whole Surge team does! The trainers strike the right balance of challenging and up-leveling you, while also giving you space to own your own workout and offering modifications if needed. The atmosphere is one where other gym members are also welcoming, but not cult-ish the way I feel some gyms can be. Needless to say, I'm a lifelong Surge fan and can't say enough good things about this small business. Thank you Surge crew!

After exploring various gyms, I knew I made the right choice when I met the owner, Mike, also known as "Magic Mike," who takes great pride in his gym, staff, and students, always providing excellent guidance.

I’ve had great experiences with Mike’s team, including trainers Mel, Katie, Kim, and Steve, who are professional and supportive, making every interaction enjoyable. Surge Kickboxing in Arvada is a fantastic place to train and a pleasure to visit daily.

I joined Surge Kickboxing 8 months ago looking for Karate for my son and a fun whole body workout for me. I didn't expect joining to change my life like it has.
My son found a new confidence in Karate and has made lifelong friends. With the support of the trainers and members, I have transformed my body and my mindset. The people here have been an irreplaceable support system. The trainers are knowledgeable while still being patient and kind. I feel like I have found my people and my gym. I can't say thank you enough to Mike, the trainers (especially Mel, Taylor, and Steve), and all the members that have welcomed me into this community. We love SK!

I joined SKB on recommendation by a friend, and within 15 minutes of meeting Mike, I knew it was for me. The staff are amazing, supportive, and knowledgeable. I love having a structured workout with the flexibility of when I come in to workout. Great workouts, great vibes!

Under the guidance of knowledgeable instructors like Sensei Mike for Shotokan Karate, Blake for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Steve for circuit training, I've experienced tremendous growth both physically and mentally. Sensei Mike's expertise in karate has honed my discipline and technique, we would love to see more in the adult classes! Blake's BJJ classes have improved my ground game immensely. Additionally, Steve's circuit training sessions provide a challenging and dynamic workout that leaves me feeling energized and accomplished. The supportive community atmosphere at Surge Kickboxing adds to the overall positive experience, making it a top-notch gym for anyone looking to enhance their martial arts skills or fitness level. Also being plus sized (6' 300lbs and dropping!) I've experienced nothing but support, the staff were supportive and non-judgmental. They also offered inclusive classes and had knowledgeable trainers who tailored workouts to my needs and abilities. Overall, I felt welcomed and empowered to pursue my fitness goals without feeling self-conscious about my size!

Blake is a great coach and better human. Always felt welcomed when I trained with him. He is very down to earth and easy to talk to. He is also very technically proficient at his craft. I cannot say enough about how great it was to train BJJ with Blake!

Blake is a fantastic teacher and excellent training partner! I always look forward to attending his classes and feel that I learn great details from him. He's got a knack for teaching from beginner all the way through advanced techniques.

I started bjj with Blake and his dad back in 2014. I was introduced to jiu jitsu in a way that left lasting impressions not only towards my game but just in the manner of overcoming life with the attitude of never giving up. Blake is a great coach, he's there to develop your game, cut a joke, and help you towards what you're seeking. I couldn't of asked for a better launching point, looking back. SK is one of the best things I’ve done for myself in years!! All the trainers are great and super helpful, patient, and supportive! The workouts are 30 minutes, who doesn’t have 30 minutes, and at the end of the workout I definitely feel it! My family has noticed a big difference too! For years I’ve wanted to join this type of gym and I found the perfect fit, great feeling of community so glad I found Surge! Highly recommend!!

Professor Blake Dvorak's new Brazilian jiu jitsu academy Liminal Jiu Jitsu is absolutely fantastic!! Very clean and great space! Professor Blake is a great and knowledgeable instructor that invests and cares about his students. He used to teach at my current academy before he opened his own and he was always one of my favorite professors. He's an active competitor in the BJJ scene and has been doing this since he was a kid so he is very dedicated to the sport. 11/10 academy and instructor!!

This gym has a brand new Jiu Jitsu class that is truly a hidden gem (pun intended)!
Blake Dvorak has been teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for many years. Having the opportunity for small private classes would be a great opportunity for any seasoned or new martial artist! It's only a matter of time before his classes start to fill up.

I trained Brazilian Jiu-jitsu with Professor Blake for about three years. Blake is an absolutely terrific instructor, very thorough and detailed oriented. I highly recommend his school.

I was lucky to find Surge Kickboxing this year. I (52M) was in a rut and in pretty mediocre shape after lockdown and an injury. The kickboxing circuit is fun, fun, fun. Every day it is a new set of movements and exercises and it has really made a difference in the way I feel. Late this year SK moved to a beautiful new facility with all new equipment and added space for Karate, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu classes. At the end of the day, the thing that really makes this place special is the culture and community. Mike (the owner) and his staff are all really terrific. There are regular events that bring everyone together to have some fun (kickball, dodgeball, potlucks and socializing). The people (they really have an awesome group of trainers) are really what keeps me coming back and staying on top of my fitness goals. Joining Surge Karate has been an excellent experience that has surpassed all expectation.

Blake is one of the best coaches I’ve ever trained with so intelligent and technical can help break down techniques better than anybody I know. Great gym even better coach no brainer if your thinking of signing up!

Coach Blake is a master of his craft and a great instructor when teaching others. His knowledge and experience with BJJ is well earned.

I absolutely love this place! I was super nervous and intimitated when I first started because I have zero knowledge in kickboxing or work out classes but I soon overcame that struggle. Everyone here is so nice, you're greeted by name when you walk in, the trainers are incredible and really want the best for you. Going in to train is the highlight of my day and it really changed how I feel about working out and I feel like I found my new passion here! Couldn't recommend more!!

I have trained with Professor Blake Dvorak since my day one. He's a seasoned competitor that teaches a high level Brazilian jiu-jitsu game. I know he's also taught kids classes as well as adults. Wherever he teaches, ppl get better. Highly recommend checking this place out for MMA.
