Best Western Arcata Inn

I really liked that the hotel parking lot was spacious. For our car, we had plenty of room to get around without being cramp. There were some construction trucks there that took up multiple spaces regularly, luckily they have larger parallel parking spaces for them or if you have a trailer. There is also plenty of street parking.

The room was clean and quiet. We couldn't hear any neighbors or the road, which is behind the hotel. Staff was friendly. There is a coin operate washer/dryer. Good location and good cell phone service. Nice place to also walk your dog if you bring him.

I lived in Northern Humboldt for over 21yrs and this is the best hotel in the area. The building is older but extremely well maintained. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with everything you need from large TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, suitcase rack, desk, and small table. The staff is outstanding and extremely accommodating, everyone from front desk to maids to bkfst staff aim to please and work very hard. The amenities are great, including lounge, large dining area, full continental breakfast, pool, hot tub, dog walking area w/ doggie bags and waste containers (very nicely landscaped), a gazebo and BBQ area with picnic tables, smoking area. Located next to grocery store, dollar store, gas stations, and a few restaurants (Kebab Cafe(greek), Oriental buffet, McDonalds and more. Also close to Riptide a great little drive thru gourmet coffee house with pastries, croissant sandwiches, bagels w/ lox and cream cheese. Easy access to 101 and 299hwys. There is a homeless population in the area, but they do not wander into hotel area and are harmless. Security is good here, the hotel is safe, Ive never had a break in or any problems whatsoever. This is my fave hotel in the area and I come here many times a year for an extended stay. Pet friendly, extra deposit and fee for pets, very reasonable. Affordable hotel for the area, but expect California rates and taxes.

I met Jared Morgart, your Night Audit. He was a God-sent. I arrived around midnight at this BW hotel. And he helped me park my big UHaul moving truck. He spent over 1 hour helping me. Who would do something like that? He’s patient, kind, professional. BW is very fortunate to have him as their employee. I'd recognize him with A+ rating, high class service I am yet to see anywhere else. Jared, thank you so much for all that you did for me and family.

Stayed here on a stopover along our trip. They are pet friendly, and have a pool which was perfect for the kids after a long drive. Rooms are clean, and the breakfast was great.

What I really want to mention is the staff. They are so incredibly polite and kind and go out of their way for you. My son left his favourite stuffy there and they are going to ship it to us! They never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I would stay here again just for that alone. Thank you!

Location isn’t too far from anything you might need if you drive, and only a little bit of a drive into eureka. There were a couple homeless individuals on the road on the way in, but I still felt like my car was safe parking in the hotels little enclosed area. Breakfast was awesome, The front desk staff was friendly and very accommodating, the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed in the king jacuzzi room and it was also very spacious. My only complaint was the handle for the shower was kind of a pain to pull out to turn on, and along the baseboard in the bathroom there looks like some water damage that looks like it should be repaired. Absolutely would stay here again though.

I had a delightful experience during my stay at the Best Western Arcata while visiting California Polytechnic State University, Humboldt. The accommodations were impeccably clean and featured contemporary amenities, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the university was highly advantageous & convenient.

Evening shift staff were amazing. She went above and beyond for us. Rooms clean. Beds comfortable. Breakfast and am staff courteous and professional.

Great room, great people. We arrived to be greeted by Angie who was wonderful. The room was exactly what we needed; a nice bed, good TV which worked with our Roku stick, good complimentary breakfast. Checking out in the morning the ladies were so real and friendly. What a bright spot in our honeymoon!

i loved my stay here! they are pet friendly and the rooms were cleaned before entry. we woke up to perfect weather and enjoyed the breakfast before leaving. five stars all around

(Under Richardson reservation) the boyfriend and I recently stayed 4/14‐4/16. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable! I had my dog with me and the dog area was very convenient and close to our room. A little disappointed the jacuzzi didn't seem operational but no biggie.
The breakfast was the amazeballs! A huge variety of hot food, cereal, snacks, pastries, yogurt etc. The coffee was decent too! My favorite was the deep set bathtub in our room, best bath I've had in years! Highly recommended! Centrally located and near restaurants and shopping.

Every staff member was super friendly. Beds were comfortable. Property clean, breakfast was amazing both days as well. My whole family loved it there.. 10/10 for sure

This was a great hotel! The room was very clean, and we had plenty of towels. The shower had dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen---including biscuits and gravy! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Across the street is a grocery store and dollar store in case you need anything. The only thing was the freezer compartment was too small for our large blue ice, but everything else was great.

I would give this location a solid 5 if it weren't for the slightly homeless concern around the location. I was out walking the ENORMOUS grassy beautiful lawn area with picnic tables and bbq's, and I heard a couple setting up their tent on the other side of the wood fence along the freeway. As for everything else...the room was spacious, very clean, bed and bedding so comfortable, huge bath towels that were super clean, not dingy. Room had a very pleasant ambiance. I would highly recommend. Just be prepared for some wandering homeless folks. Parking lot seems safe though.

Staff so helpful. Room reeked of old smoke and clerk fixed us up with a new room no problem! Beds were so comfy. Actually soft. Not memory foam help I can't move soft but soft enough to cushion sore muscles and still support. Pool was half indoor outdoor and hot tub lives up to name. Bubbles not jets but felt great! Was open until 10 during our stay. Kids got to swim under the stars. Plenty of towels right at hand and even a bathroom. No running back to room to potty or change. Breakfast was continuously restocked and dining area kept clean. Definitely try the pancake machine. I can't think of anything bad to say about our stay. Even the"smoke problem" wasn't their fault but was easily fixed. Wish every hotel or even Best Western could be like this one!

Edited: came back 2 years later and STILL WORTH EVERY PENNY! Great service, clean rooms and they still serve breakfast. Too bad the homeless has gotten worse but this place makes you feel safe.
~~~~~I was super impressed and pleasantly surprised. The price is definitely worth the stay. The room smelled fresh and clean. The bed was big and comfy. A little too big and fluffy pillows but not bad. The jacuzzi tub didnt hold water very long but it still felt awesome. The water felt super soft and stayed hot. Lots of areas for pets and a comfortable smoking area away from the rooms. The staff even answered the phone faster than every other hotel in the area. If we ever make another trip out, we are staying here. Super cute food store across the way too. I love this place and highly recommend it. Be sure to pay for breakfast too, you'll be happy you did.

I'm giving five stars, because the person who had to deal with me last night was super helpful. Within a matter of half an hour she had to deal with me three times.

The rooms are spacious, but a little out of date.

One of the plugs on the light in room 110 does not work.

The toilet does not seem to be made for the modern American.

The water pressure was a little low

There was a light coming through the window in the bathroom and I had to keep the door closed.

The parking lot is very tight and hard to maneuver.

The breakfast had plenty of options, though. The orange juice didn't taste very good.

Great hotel! I rarely stay at Best Western but after this stay I will consider staying more! The staff was very friendly and greeted me with a smile! The location and the hotel itself are just off Highway 101 and there are benches around the hotel to sit back and relax and some grass to walk your dog if you come with one! Rooms were very spacious, room was clean and the beds comfortable!

Breakfast was also delicious, I may add, the cherry cobbler was amazing! Thank you staff of Best Western!

Spacious, clean, reasonably priced room. The area had some issues, but that's beyond Best Western's control.

Angelica and the other lady (sorry, didn't catch your name) seemed quite kind and competent.

Edit: stayed here again, definitely try their breakfast, employees were attentive and top notch, food was great, had all the standard stuff plus some extras (actual milk, biscuits and gravy, burrito making station)
