Zac's Catfish and Chicken

Was a little concerned initially about stopping at a non-franchised restaurant while traveling, but this was well worth the stop. The food was excellent, the service was great (the young man who took our order was very friendly and engaging, said he moved there from Nebraska), and the food was moderately priced. Will stop there again. They need some serious work done on their parking lot, monster pot holes everywhere.

Staying at the Hampton Inn right behind the restaurant. Don't rely on the Internet prices because there are several years old. But I must say, the prices are very reasonable. The food is delicious and plenty of it. I had the catfish platter and it came with 3 large filets, fries, cold slaw, and 3 hushpuppies. Well worth the $12,99 price. Delicious food.

In a career of finding hidden gems, this is probably one of the best finds. It is exactly what you would expect from a catfish place in Mississippi. Great catfish, great hush puppies and some of the best greens you'll ever eat. Don't let the beautiful interior fool you, this is the real deal.

Excellent spot right off of the freeway. Catfish was hot, crispy, and fresh. Perfectly cooked, nice and flaky, and not drowned in oil. The coleslaw was fantastic, most certainly homemade, as were the hushpuppies.

On my two week trip across the southeast, this was one of the most memorable meals I had, and I dined at some restaurants well beyond $50/plate.

Food was great! Service was quick. I got the chicken platter with fries and baked beans and it was all great. Loved the homemade ranch. Also got the fried cheese bites and they were amazing!

Best seafood in town friendly staff! Fried green tomatoes were also very delicious as well.

This place is the real deal! Having lived in southern Mississippi for a time I've had some catfish meals. For a place right outside the hotel it exceeded my expectations. Friendly staff as well!

Great whole catfish and filets. Seasoned well, very good tasting and fried the perfect amount of time. French fries are crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside. Coleslaw was a mix of fresh veges and pickles. It was all very flavorful. Service was friendly and welcoming.

Enjoyed this day with Best Friend I recommend this place to all travelers and in town to go and enjoy good food .

Convenient to the interstate and much better than your franchise fast food joints. Burger was dressed well with topping and the catfish was really good. Staff was friendly and the place appeared to clean.

The catfish is fantastic. The breading is crumbly and well seasoned. Not the standard greasy flour at most places. If you get a platter everything is tasty! The coleslaw is sweet, the hush puppies are flavorful and the fries crispy. It's a large portion too... I could have shared it.

This was my first time to eat here and it was definitely a treat! The employees were very pleasant and helpful. The young lady behind the counter was very knowledgable when it came to the menu. She walked me right through the menu to find my perfect meal. The atmosphere is amazing and the food literally melted in my mouth! They also serve hand dipped ice cream along with a large selection of seafood platters. I had the jumbo shrimp platter, large, with greens, coleslaw, and French fries. It was all so fresh tasting. It was like they made it all for me right then. The sweet tea is very southern. Not too much sugar. Just the right balance of sweet. Of course, I had to have three glasses. I will definitely return and I am sure that I will not be disappointed then either. The hand dipped ice cream was very tasty and refreshing. They even serve my favorite flavor, mint chocolate chip. If you are looking for something new and tasty, try Zacs Seafood and Chicken. I am quite sure that you will enjoy it as well.

This was so good!!! I am on the way back to Houston and was craving a burger. This exceeded my expectations! Great service, super quick, all young and excited to be working. Great environment to have a burger or chicken outside on the patio.

Stopped in this evening for dinner on our way from AL to LA. The two gentlemen working the register and delivering food to the tables were so pleasant and personable. They were very knowledgeable about the menu when we asked questions, came to the table multiple times to check on us to see if we needed anything, and even came back by when we finished our meal to ask how everything was. The food was great- but to be honest it could’ve tasted like dirt and I probably still would’ve come back because of how great our experience with those two gentlemen was. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that the credit card receipt didn’t give an option to tip the staff. I don’t carry cash so that was frustrating. Guess we’ll have to go to the atm and tip them double on our way back home! Great service.

When traveling I like to try restaurants we don't have in my hometown. I tried Zac's for the fist time today and would patronize them again in the future. The staff was helpful, and the food was fresh and hot. I had the fried green tomatoes, firecracker shrimp, catfish platter with lima beans, turnip greens, and hushpuppies. Everything was delicious! It is safe to say my eyes were larger than my stomach, I ordered entirely too much food for just myself.
