This place looks awesome, but is definitely closed Sundays, despite what Google times say.

I’m on the fence with this one. We took a road trip to Meridian on a hot summer day. It was a nice surprise to find a public swimming pool next to one of our destinations. It cost just under $15 for 4 of us to swim. There were 3 lifeguards on duty. One at the desk, and one at each pool. There is a splash pad in the outer area and a kiddie pool next to this pool. There were two women with small kids in the splash pad. They decided that they wanted to swim once they saw us swimming. They stayed in the kiddie pool for a few minutes but then wanted to get in the big pool. I’m not sure of the rules or age limits, but they were allowed to get in the big pool even though the adults accompanying them were not getting in. The two women with these children didn’t seem to care that their small, loud, obnoxious children were being disruptive in the swimming area where the teenagers and adults were swimming. One of the children jumped in the pool and started struggling to swim. Neither of the women took any initiative to help her. The lifeguard did take action. And I get that’s their job. BUT, as a parent, I’m not standing back waiting on someone else to act if my child is in danger. I feel that those children were too young and too small for a big pool. There should be age requirements or at least require that their parent or guardian is actually going to swim WITH them and monitor them. It kinda ruined the fun for us that there was constantly some type of issues while these kids were there. The pool water was “clean” but the lifeguards had not been keeping the bugs and leaves out. The building is extremely old and in need of a coat of paint or something. It wasn’t a horrible experience but considering we had to pay for it, it should have been better.
