High Mountain Sports

All the staff are very friendly! Josh (I believe was his name) took great care of the group I was with. We rented bikes, they handled very well. Working with him, Jamie, and the rest of the crew was like working with family! Thank you all for making my friends Bachelor weekend one to remember!

Prices are pretty good too. We paid $22 for almost 3hs

Took the pontoon boat tour. Much more economical than renting a pontoon and being responsible for problems or damage. Ray was our guide and there isn’t anything he doesn’t know about Deep Creek Lake. The tour was interesting and fun and over too soon. We will definitely do it again.

I love their stuff. It's just a little pricey. I love it when they have sales, but they need to change the stuff they have on sales every once and a while.

On a whim I decided to book a lake tour through High Mountain Spirts for the next day. Booking and checking in was super easy. Our guide was Josh and he was great and informative. Ride on the pontoon boat was comfortable and relaxing. This was well worth the money and highlight of our trip.

We stopped by to get extra gear before our snowboarding lessons and were assisted by Heather and Jamie. They made sure my gloves fit properly, helped us choose some entry-level goggles, and gave a bunch of tips on staying warm on the mountain and staying safe while snowboarding. We really appreciated their expertise!

Rented a kayak there for a day. Price was great, as was the kayak. Next time we are in deep creek, we will probably rent one from them for a few days.

Josh the bike mechanic was great. He helped me and my husband fix our assembled bikes and did same day service. Excellent guy and place. Would highly recommend!

Had 9 family members for my grandparents 50th anniversary, Ray took us on our boat ride. I was absolutely terrified of boats until I met him. He knows the lake better than anyone there and is an amazing tour guide. Her makes it feel like you’ve been friends for years! Always ask for Ray even if he’s booked I would get on the list. He 100% worth it and could brighten anyone’s day! Loved the boat ride and will be back next year!

I have always had great experiences here but today was the first time I’ve visited since I started writing reviews. This place is awesome for everything outdoors! I went in today for new ski boots. They looked up my old skis and they were within spec so they didn’t try to sell me new ones. Ray did an excellent job asking me questions and matching me up with the perfect Lange boot to fit my needs! Then the boots were missing an adaptor but they took the time to scour the shop and find the boot plates to make it all work. Luckily it’s the end of the season and was a Sunday so I was able to go over to traders to have a coffee and breakfast while ray mounted my new boots to my old bindings. I was out skiing right after lunch and the boots worked awesome! Didn’t hurt they were on sale for 40% off! Thanks Ray and the girls, I will be back!

I bought a used Schwinn that someone had removed all of the gear parts off of & made just a basic bicycle of. Josh was able to return it to its original state in only a day! Very friendly & efficient. Will definitely visit again!

The staff there is terrific. I recently purchased a new Trek bicycle there and was very pleased with the knowledge of the staff. The pricing was lower than the other bike shops I'd looked at. In addition their service of my other bike was awesome. I would strongly recommend using this store.

We stopped in here for a pair of sandals, and were so pleasantly surprised! They had an excellent selection of sporting and outdoor goods, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Additionally, their safety protocol is top notch. Masks are required, hand sanitizer is available to all upon entry, and they limit the amount of customers allowed inside the store — all of this is really strictly but kindly enforced which made me feel really safe and respected as a customer.

Have been skiing in Deep Creek for over 30 years. I cannot say enough great things about the shop. My children are 15 and 12 so we always rent at HMS. I have purchased multiple pairs of skis. Great prices and selection.

We have been using High Mountain for about 15 years and have always appreciated the great service. As a family that spends time year around at Deep Creek Lake it is nice to have a go to place for year round sporting goods as well as the clothing that goes along with the fun. The thing people forget is that it is more than being just a number, it is about the relationship that is built with the employees as well as Steve and Brian the owners. They do a really great job and I have always appreciated there approach to doing business.

Best service at Deep Creek will be back for sure! We were there 25 years ago still have most everything we got then went there for some help on a large tube got the best help from a young lady and we were good for the weekend. My grandchildren say thank you!

Awesome service. My MTB needed a tune up and Jeff was awesome in whipping the bike back into shape. New brakes pad, bleed and new chain in less than a couple of hours. Would have taken 3 weeks in DC.

Friendly, kind staff. I bought two shirts that fit perfect but immediately regretted it when I realized they are 100% cotton and will inevitably shrink when washed. I decide to exchange the shirts for larger sizes but the whole process was a strange back and forth ordeal (completely my fault because I suffer from horrible indecisiveness, haha) about if I should truly size up the one shirt I had bought for my boyfriend. The woman who helped me was patient and genuinely tried to help me decide if I wanted the next size up for him or not. She I went with her suggestion and the shirt fits him great after being washed and dried once. It’s good customer service like that that sets places like this apart from the rest!

Went on a pontoon boat tour this afternoon and it was a great experience. Our tour guide couldn't have been any nicer and told us all about the area. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice tour of Deep Creek Lake.

Josh was a fantastic tour guide on the pontoon-boat. He was knowledgeable about history, geography, culture, and points of interest at Deep Creek Lake and was able to answer and expand upon all questions asked by our party. The booking process was also quick and easy, using the online option.
