This morning I’d like to thank and heap praises upon a man named Jay Crane who owns and manages the Magnolia Cemetery on 23rd Ave in Meridian, MS. He took time out of his day (who does that any more????) to meet us on Saturday and show us where the gravesites of my aunts are. Not only that, he had flagged them the day before after I called just in case we should somehow miss each other. Those two things were nice enough, BUT, I had talked to him on Friday about finding a way to put a vase or cup to hold flowers on one of my aunt’s graves. She simply had a marker and no place for me to leave flowers for her. This man, Jay Crane, thought about it overnight and told us when we got to the graves he thought he might have a cup that would fit in the small space between the two sisters’ graves. I thought PERFECT! I asked how much I could get one for and he said, oh I have one at the shop. I wouldn’t charge you for that.
Folks, does this kind of service still exist? Where a business owner goes above and beyond to ensure a person’s happiness/satisfaction? Apparently it does, at Magnolia Cemetery with Jay Crane. It was a pleasure to meet you Mr. Crane and I look forward to the next time we meet.

I called to get information about a lady's grave -- she died and was buried in 1957. Within just a few seconds, Jay gave me the coordinate location, and then messaged me a google map screen shot with a pin as to the exact location. 5+ stars -- Thanks, Jay!!!

I called to see if I could locate the grave of my great aunt. I spoke to Mr. Crane, he not only confirmed my great aunt was buried there, he also told me the section, and plot number and also took a photo of the grave and sent it to me. Wow. Thank you so much Mr. Crane.

I spoke with the owner requesting information on the costs of transporting me when I die from Palm Beach Florida to Meridian to be interred into my family plot at Magnolia Cemetery. He assured me that he can arrange for everything including the monument for the site that I choose. I spoke with him over a month ago and still he has not been in contact with me with the details so that I can go ahead and prepay for everything. They do not seem to be extremely deficient any longer. What a shame as I would like to rest with the rest of my ancestors.

The cemetery is no longer well kept. The roads have big craters in them. Many headstones are leaning or sinking. The cemetery insists upon setting the monument itself for an exhorbitant price, much more than the monument company charges. The cemetery does not cement or glue headstone to base, nor does it glue vase to base.

Does anyone have a good telephone number. I tried the number listed and received message "no longer in service or disconnected" My father was buried there in 1980 and I would like to locate burial location.

Well I have never known a cemetery to be closed, but especially on a weekend when folks can actually have time to go and visit. Even though our loved ones are dead and gone and are in there resting place ... it makes no sense to keep the living out on the most available days of the week...you guys are awful!!!!

I live in another state and just went to the cemetery this past weekend and found my family's lot in deplorable condition. Weeds were covering my brother's toombstone and there was a thorny bush 3 ft high in front if my parent's stone. My son and I had to go buy pruning shears and gardening gloves to clean up the lot.
