Grayson Highlands General Store & Inn

We stayed in the room above the store and it was the perfect location; very close to Grayson Highlands State park. There's a beautiful creek that runs behind the store for guests to enjoy. Paula is a wonderful hostess and answered any questions we had about check-in. The food was excellent, especially the cinnamon bun bread pudding we had for breakfast. It was a highlight of our trip.

The Grayson Highlands Inn is an absolute treasure. Paula ensures that everyone who enters feels instantly welcomed. The rooms offer serene views of a picturesque creek, and the store is well-stocked with essentials. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. If you're considering a visit, come hungry, as the food is delectable. Whether you're grabbing a meal or staying overnight with family, adding the Grayson Highlands Inn to your itinerary is undoubtedly a decision you won't regret!

This is a great business, and the owners are very kind and attentive. We stayed here for one night and had dinner and breakfast. Very clean rooms, great food, lots of snacks and groceries and camping gear, and a grassy space to hang out by the fire and the creek in the evening. The owners worked with our bike trip logistics by letting us drop some gear there before hand. We stopped back by on our last day for some more sandwiches and drinks. They make a lot of homemade sandwiches and chicken salad and such. Great place to base camp for biking, hiking or exploring this area.

We stopped in for lunch before a weekend of backpacking and were so glad that we did! The food served in the store (all made from scratch) was delicious and very reasonably priced. The store also had a wide assortment of snacks, drinks, groceries, camping supplies and much, much more. We had an opportunity to chat with the owners and they were incredibly friendly and accommodating! We were so impressed, we made a point to stop back in on our way back home and had another delicious meal! We absolutely plan to stop back in for another visit the next time we hike in the area!

What a pleasant and comfortable night camping on flat grass near a very nice creek on my first night of the Grayson Gravel Circuit. There is a utility room for campers that provides toilet, shower, washer and dryer all included with the standard camping fee. There is also a nice covered patio with comfortable chairs. I will try and work a stay here into all of my future trips in this area.

Most pleasant place I’ve ever stopped. Well stocked. Listens to your needs. Best hamburger and Ruebon sandwich I’ve had in awhile. The store was spotless. Prices were very reasonable too. A must stop if in the area. Hiking food as well for the people that hike.

A friend and I stayed there 3 days last week while exploring Grayson Highland State park. It is perfectly located for quick access to outdoor activities in the surrounding area.

The owner / staff are great and to top it off they offered keto biscuits and bagels that were amazing.

We made reservations on our way to Grayson Highlands Park and really didn’t know what to expect. It was a wonderful experience. Rooms are updated and very nice. The store has a huge inventory to be a small general store. We had breakfast in the cafe and it was very good. Coffee was very good. The new owners are so pleasant and hospitable. We plan to return for a longer stay. It was delightful.

Wow! Amazing place and people. We sectioned hiked around the Grayson Highlands area and ended up staying here a few nights (one extra due to rain).

Good food from the kitchen, plenty of stuff for a re-supply!

Peaceful setting on Mill Creek. Super nice and helpful hosts. We camped. Store is closed on Wednesday but they opened up just for us. Hosts got up early and made us breakfast even.

Stopped here for breakfast today after a few days in the Grayson Highlands.

The husband, wife and son were all part of the service team and were very friendly and welcoming - and this doesn't just seem to be what happens on a "good day" , many reviews talk about how welcoming they are.

The breakfast was VERY good and exactly what a one needs after camping in the Highlands.

This store is owned by the nicest people! The mother and son were so pleasant and hospitable. We almost ran out of gas leaving Grayson Highlands State park and they came to our rescue as their pumps were not yet open. Thanks for the help and for all the goodies! We did not stay overnight but stopped for items while camping and so glad we did. We enjoy supporting local businesses and the campers at Grayson Highlands are lucky to have you! Tried to find you on Instagram for a shout out.

Great service. Owner and patron gave best hospitality in town. Price also reasonable. Got mostly anything related with camping you can think of. Making a trip and camping at Grayson memorable. Also the bathroom is clean!!! That’s important:)

We stopped at the store to get snacks and ice cream. The new owner was very friendly and helpful, and the staff was great. Recommend both the ice cream and stopping in for provisions if need be!

We had an amazing stay here. The rooms were clean and the service was great! The owners are so kind and friendly. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

My family and some friends had lunch here after hiking in the park, and everything was just wonderful. Great prices and delicious food. I highly recommend the Reuben! The people were super friendly too. We will most definitely be back ;)

First time staying at the inn and we loved it. Very close to Grayson Highlands State Park. We stayed two nights in Room #2. It was much larger than we expected and we were impressed. The sound of the water from Mill Creek directly behind the inn was so relaxing to listen to. Dennis, the owner, gave us the grand tour of his business consisting of the store, grill, ice cream counter, gas station, all the rooms, green houses, fruit trees, grape vines, and the creek. We will definitely return on our next trip to this area.

Run by warm and welcoming people, this is so much more than a store. You feel like family just walking in the door. The grill is excellent as is the variety of goods. Don't forget the ice cream before you leave!

New owners, recently refurbished. Huge room, everything super clean. The store is much larger than we expected, everything you need for resupply. The friendly owner also makes hot breakfast if desired. Totally recommended

I was absolutely delighted with my 2-day stay at the Grayson Highlands General Store & Inn. Not only did the room exceed my expectations (size, features, cleanliness) but the owners repeatedly went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. I had a few meals at the Inn; they were decent and fairly priced. The setting of the property is quite good too -- quiet at night; very near the state park; and tranquil with the creek behind the building. Really a 5-star experience!
