I really enjoyed our first visit to this place. The onion rings were excellent, batter light and crispy.

My club sandwich was good. The fries were well seasoned and quite yummy.

I recommend this place. It's historic, so that adds to its charm. I'm looking forward to returning.

Great historical local place to enjoy a home cooked country meal! The kids were out of school for holiday and R&R (yeah R&R) and at the last minute we selected this place to ‘chill’ at. Well - to our surprise- it was a perfectly quaint spot! The atmosphere was perfect - the welcome, the parking, the FOOD, the STAFF and the owners! What a great local place to visit anytime. I had the oysters, my grands; one had chicken tenders and the other had wings. They enjoyed their meals! Thats saying a lot because my little one is a picky eater - she apologetically said the mac ‘n cheese was better than mine! I wasn’t offended at all after I tasted hers (lol - I had to sneak it because she guarded it). Anyway, perfect local place and the historical building/decor and scenery makes it that much more special!

This is a really cool restaurant along a really great bike path. Whenever we bike the VA Capital Trail we always stop here. The food and service has always been excellent. They often have live entertainment which has always been surprisingly excellent. They have an outdoor seating area but we love the quaint atmosphere of the bar/dining area so we sit inside every time. I don’t think I would bike this trail without planning a stop at this restaurant.

Worth your drive! I’m so glad we went here today. The food was so good. Very large portions. Friendly staff. Not your run of the mill grille. Unique spot! Will definitely go back!

A quaint historic building conveniently located off the main road through Charles City across from the municipal building.

Located near the Capital City bike trail with easy parking for bikes. There is a large covered area behind the parking lot perfect for live music.

The atmosphere is enjoyable and service was good. The chicken sandwiches we had were tasty. The seasoned fries were excellent. There is also outside seating available.

This wonderful little gem is the heart of Charles City. A family owned restaurant that treats all their customers like family. Great food, live bands, and my favorite is Thursday nite game nite featuring Family Feud!

Restaurant serving American style dishes in an building constructed in 1872. Food was excellent and featured foods prepped fresh in the local style. Desserts were made in-house and servings were large. The evening we visited there was live entertainment. Everyone was very friendly and owner checked that we were happy with the meal and service.

Can't say enough great things about this place. Get the chicken salad sandwich....you WILL NOT regret it! Emskee burger is delicious as well. There's really no wrong options. Everything has always been fantastic. Thursday's they put on a Family Feud game night which is always good fun and hilarious. They often put on live music just check out their facebook page. The atmosphere is very comfortable and also includes outdoor seating. Great beverages, food, staff & awesome owner!

It deserves 6 stars or more but will only let me give it 5! We are always looking for original small family owned places. This is by far one of the best we've ever found because of the hospitality of the owner Bonnie and her son, the good food and drinks! If we ever find ourselves back in this area again we will stop in for sure.

Nostalgic eatery right off of Capital Trail at Charles City Courthouse. Highly recommend! Delicious food, great atmosphere, and quick friendly service.

Culs Courthouse Grille is a wonderful place to go! The ambiance is charming! Service is great and the owner is very friendly, not the basic politeness that is so common now days. The food lived up to the hype- our group had the Courthouse Convict Wrap and Edna's Chicken sandwich with pimento cheese, all delicious! We all agreed, best Bread Pudding ever!!

My husband and I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The food was great, the vibe was immaculate, and it was in a really beautiful area. I passed this place on a drive a couple months ago and made a note to go back, and I'm so glad I did. Definitely worth the 40 min drive we took to get there and we will for sure be going back.

We ordered the fried oysters, the crab cakes & chicken sandwich with home made pimento cheese.
Everything was delicious- including the homemade mashed potatoes.
Highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazingly friendly service and the best food around!!! With a constantly revamped beer and wine list, a fully stocked bar, and a top notch chef... there’s no going wrong at Culs! The staff is always willing to help, whether it be a menu question or just advice on local sites. One of the owners is almost guaranteed to walk by and ensure your meal is meeting your expectations. This is a the definition of small town southern hospitality!

It was Freaking Awesome stopped in for a bite to Eat & got ourselves involved a game they play here every Thursday called Family Fued and we actually WON the game out of 11 teams!! The Retired Mafia rides again.

Stopped in during a long 60 mile ride on our way back into Williamsburg. We were pleased with the selection, seating, service and price! Everything was great. It was nice a cool inside on a hot 90 degree day outside. The building has great history but the restaurant has modern amenities (TVs, Beer, AC all essentials ha!). Nice seating available outside when its not hot and humid. We missed this place heading west so I am glad I caught it coming East!

I ate the black bean burger and onion rings. Everything was really good, I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of black bean burger but it had great flavor and was not dry.

The wait staff was attentive, quick with ice cold water refills and super personable and answered our questions about the menu and specials.

I always like to see a menu before I go into a place so I snapped a few shots of the menu selection with hours included.

While we were not that only bikers in spandex in the restaurant the table next to us didn't seem to enjoy us being near them. Other than that it was a pleasant visit!

Great place. Highly recommend the lunch here. Service was on point. Hidden gem!

Stopped here while biking from Williamsburg to Richmond. Great lunch spot with delicious drinks and food. It's right off the trail too!

The chocolate mousse cake with raspberry spread was so delicious it disappeared within seconds!

A go-to for me; whether after getting off a long ride on the Capital Trail or to hear some live music. Food is comfortable and tasty. Atmoshere and the ervice are intimate. The owner, Cul, is hands-on and uber-welcoming. Check it out.

What a gem!
I am not a google reviewer by any means, but this restaurant deserves a shoutout. We stumbled across Cul’s while visiting Charles City, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The food was delicious—the homemade chips and roast beef club were excellent. Also, don’t forget about the dessert—apple cobbler and brownies a la mode like no other. But paralleling the wondeful food was the personable staff, making our experience so much fun. Our server and the owner both came over many times to chat with us and engage with our two young children. Can’t ask for better service. Gave us a sense of peace and normalcy during the crazy times. Thank you, Eric and Cullen and the whole Cul’s team, we’ll surely be back!
