Rio Grande Grill and Tap Room

Made it out to Rio Grande to try out their wings and other things, we've been hearing good reviews from others. We were not disappointed!! The parking looks bad from the street but there's some behind the building.
We ordered wings, spinach artichoke dip, fish & chips and finished it off w a carrot cake. Also ordered drinks; root beer and the hard tea.
The wings were fantastic! Perfectly crispy and not too saucy. We ordered 2 orders of 6 so we could try both the spicy boq and the honey sriracha sauces.
They were not too spicy or too sweet, a very good blend of the flavors.
The carrot cake was devine!! The best cake we have had in Ruidoso so far! Our server actually recommended the cake to us and I'm very glad he did!
The spinach artichoke dip was okay, I wouldn't order it again. It was a little too cheesy and more spinach than artichoke and was lacking flavor.
The fish & chips were alright, again I wouldn't order them a second time. A little too much batter on the fish and the tartar sauce was bland and the coleslaw was watery. The chips were perfect though!! Best fry I've had around Ruidoso so far!
The root beer was delicious and their hard tea was pretty good, we were offered a chance to buy some to-go which was cool.
The restaurant is really cozy too, all wood and warmth, and the tables are located upstairs. That was nice bc you can be away from the bar area to enjoy your meal w a more restaurant feel upstairs.
Definitely recommend and we look forward to going back to try some burgers and steak!

Excellent service and the food was prepared perfectly. I had NY Strip (perfect medium) with Shrimp scampi and my wife had hatch chili chicken Alfredo. Our appetizer was housemade spinach dip. It was creamy and thick.

You can’t go wrong with stopping by at this place. There is a long wait if it’s a busy time of the year, but they will still provide great service and tasty food. Good family atmosphere. Neil our waiter was great with suggestions and service.

There aren’t many restaurants open past 8pm in Ruidoso, so we weren’t sure what to expect when we found this one had later hours.

I was craving wings, saw they had them on the menu, and very glad we ended up here. It’s a nice gem with lots of options.

My husband had a chipotle chicken sandwich and said it was one of his favorite chicken sandwiches (and blue cheese) he’s ever had. The buffalo sauce on the wings were also 10/10.

Service & ambiance was wonderful.

Well we read the bad reviews and the good reviews made us go anyway. It was awesome. We had a wonderful meal by the bar fireplace, Bartender Hershel was amazing. The green chili chicken lasagna should be world renound. The beer flight introduced us to some awsome craft beer with a fav of the peanut butter brew. We walked out with a variety of brews (cherry wheat was great too) for our family taste testing. Highly recommend local chef inspired food and brewer. Kudos to a job well done.

Come eat here it's amazing I got the PB&J burger it's sooooooooooo worth it. But, Y'all should add strawberry not everyone likes grape jam. Also tried the green chili chicken lasagna and thee hatch chicken Alfredo both amazing as well. Staff was attentive and super friendly. The wait for food was excellent we had enough time to eat two tostadas between 7 people. When it came out it was like watching an anime with the vapor trail following closely as it was brought out. Oh yeah there was no wait, or well it was two minutes but the staff said one moment cause they were serving someone.

We only came because we tried outback and they kept changing how long the wait was every time we had said okay for waiting. I will be back again. No need for that other place.

Visiting Ruidoso again. First time at this place. It is/was an amazing experience. Jess, the bartender, she tells talks to the patrons and tells you stories. She recommended half Pecan and half Cherry for the beer. It is amazing! I asked her, I wanted the biggest hamburger and she said "I got you." She wasnt kidding! I would definitely recommend this place if you are in town. Oh! And try the jalapeño poppers!!

So good! Variety of menu items from BBQ, burgers, salads, wings, seafood and Italian. Our table order- calamari (marinara is not spicy at all) , lasagne, 2 burgers and a chicken finger basket. All plates were cleaned! I would definitely say the burgers were way above average. Cooked perfect, so flavorful and juicy!

I really enjoy this restaurant even though I do not like their hours.

My favorite dish here is their Outlaw Lager Stew, it’s enough for two people. It is served over mashed potatoes and it’s absolutely delicious and filling. Perfect for a cold day. I order this most of the times I visit.

They also offer various beers they brew and other local beers. They serve wine and delicious bottled sodas they make also. I love their root beer.

The service has always been great, Carter is awesome! Often there’s a wait during the weekend when visitors are in town so keep that in mind. This place is a must try.

We love this place, we come here every time we come to Ruidoso. Its one of our favorite places to eat, plus their beer is so good. Highly recommend you try it. The atmosphere is awesome. The people who work there are awesome. I think we've had the same server the past 4 years. Love it.

Im from El Paso came 2hours to drive to this place really was good had the 1/2 rack ribs cook perfectly Wasnt bad and was soft and i have the inferno Wings cooked perfectly im wings person and it was good my mom has peanut butter Jelly Burger she enjoyed it i would recommend this place definitely good jobs cooks and the employees are really nice and they check on you to make sure your fine this place is a must try

An entire experience all on its own. The best burger we’ve ever had. Seared but yet juicy. Perfect explosion of flavor upon first bite. Passion for creating culinary delicacy out of something, one might consider, ordinary like a burger is easily perceived. The cheese to meat ratio was on point. The texture of the ground meat was something we’d never experienced before. Not over mixed to create a not so condensed texture. The steak fries were phenomenal. The perfect bonus was the variety of great brews to accompany a marvelous meal. We had the sandwich as well. Don’t believe other reviews about the best burger in town being in any other restaurant but here. Compliments to the chef. Sherry was an absolute delight to have as our waitress. Super knowledgeable and above par service. Tried several restaurants while in Ruidoso and this place stood out on every level even compared to the higher priced ones. Do yourself a favor and make your trip to Ruidoso complete by adding a one of a kind dining experience.

Food was great! I ordered the Pub Burger and my wife ordered the Hot Italian sandwich. We also ordered the chocolate cake to celebrate my wife's birthday! The slice of cake was enormous and delicious! Food and drinks were good. Service was good as well.

One of the nicer restaurants in town. Good beer. Our stew and salmon were excellent. We had a great time sitting at the bar and then we got our food to go. Food traveled well.

Stopped by for lunch with my kids and was not disappointed. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We sat upstairs on the patio and it was perfect, the cool autumn breeze and the warm rays of the sun just made it perfect. I had rye Hatch Chile Alfredo and oh my god is it flavorful! It has a little kick to it but nothing crazy, its just creamy and full of green chile flavor, I am a fan. The beef stew was also very good, perfect for cold weather or when you are craving a comfort meal. My 4 year got the foot long corndog and she loved it. Also, the fried mushrooms are so yummy and my Alien Wheat beer was so refreshing and not too heavy. They do offer lunch and drink specials.
Now that Im a local, this will be a regular place for us.

Extremely delicious and well sized portions! Awesome beer options abd service, our waiter was very knowledgeable on all options. The green Chile chicken lasagna was out of this world!

Fabulous place with good food, great service and even better atmosphere.

My daughter has celiac disease so naturally we had a few questions about the menu. As the server was answering our questions Chef Keith overheard us all talking. He came to our table and was invested in making sure we chose the right things on the menu to make sure our daughter was safe. Keith was so understanding and went out of his way to help give our daughter options. We appreciate his time and thoughtfulness! Thank you again. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks!
