Imelda's Mexican Restaurant

I have been eating here for 30 years or so. Does not compare to the original owner. Service is low quality and keeps getting worse. I placed an order for 15 tacos and was very specific I wanted extra veggies on them. However, when we got home and opened the tacos they had very few veggies on them. To be specific 4 to five pieces of lettuce and less of the others I requested. When I called to inform them of my order being inaccurate the lady simply told me they tried but it is hard to add the veggies since they roll them up. The owner told me I need to ask for containers. I explained I asked for extra veggies and since they know that they can accomplish this with a container they should have placed them in such. He did offer a full refund of my order. However he only refunded a third of it. When I confronted him he said he never said a full refund. I explained that I was not happy with the outcome which he ignored. I will definitely reconsider eating here again.

We have been going here every chance we get for the last two years. Even through the change in ownership, the food has remained exactly as we love it! The service is always fantastic and Jessica is the sweetest and most responsive manager we have ever met. It is obvious every visit that our satisfaction is a major concern.

Like Mama’s home cooked food. Delicious and comfort. This is my go to every chance I get. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and still love the food and staff.

Imelda’s is by far the best place for Mexican food in the area. No other restaurant in the area compares. The service is as top tier as the food. The atmosphere is quaint, clean, and cozy. Not a lot of parking spaces, but enough.

Love it!!! Good spot to enjoy authentic Mexican food. Great atmosphere the music is not loud. So you're able to have a conversation with whomever you take to enjoy Imelda's food with. The building is small however I love how homey and bright it feels. Service is great, they are kind and sociable, bringing you what you need.

Provided a catered taco bar with 3 meat options for my son's 2nd birthday. Everything was delicious and Jose was very professional and helpful in arranging everything and delivering to us. Thank you, it was a real treat!

This is such a cute place . One of our favorite places to have breakfast. The salsa on the eggs is amazing! The menudo is amazing!

Since the new owners took over The food have been dramatically changed to the worst. The “barbacoa “ is no longer on the menu it’s “shredded meat”. Why do that ? So disappointed! The tortillas are poorly made . I gave it two tries and both times they disappointed. So sad. It was good while it lasted

Gave Imelda’s another try due to hearing rumors of some changes .. and it didn’t disappoint! Imelda’s is back! The carne guisada and Barbacoa was delicious . I’ll be coming back every chance I can.

This is a clean little gem! We had a super fresh breakfast on our first visit and will be back.

We have heard only great things about this local spot, so we tried it out for a quick bite while we were running errands. Loved it! They were 5 minutes from closing but didn't miss a beat in taking not only our order, but another customer as well. We were going to walk away because of the time crunch but they were happy to oblige and we were impressed at how quickly they were able to make some fresh tortillas for our order and they were courteous to let us dine inside while they cleaned up the kitchen before closing up. We visit the area on occasion and definitely want to make sure we eat here again with the rest of our kids. Everything tasted so fresh and I especially loved that the restaurant was really clean.

The food is very good. The amazing ladies in back cook up the best tasting authentic food. Everything is hot and ready. You can eat your meal in peace. I like this place very much.

I love the menudo and the real barbacoa tacos. They make the tortillas fresh. They also serve Big Red! This place makes me feel like I’m back in San Antonio.

Loved the food. Their homemade tortillas are amazing. Had the eggs and chorizo for breakfast. The chorizo and beans had great flavor.

Today was my first time trying the food here and I was so impressed. I got a chicken burrito and the tortilla was so fresh and warm. The green salsa was so amazing and made it 10x better. Definitely will be coming back soon.
