Riverside Inn

My dad and I stayed here for the British Invasion car show for a few days. Julian the owner was kind, accommodating, and really knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are clean and well put together, and they worked great for the couple days we needed them. Overall the place is run by nice people and the proximity to a nice coffee shop, restaurants, and even some shopping was super convenient.

I wanted to stay at a place that was central to all of the hiking I was hoping to do.

The Riverside Inn was perfect! Julian was incredibly helpful and friendly both over the phone and in person. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Julian went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. 😊

The room had all of the amenities I needed, and it's very close to all the cute shops in Stowe. 😄

Perfect location, right on the bike path, with lots of restaurants walkable from the front door. We also really appreciated the owner Kay (spelling?) who was very welcoming and helpful. Our family of 5 loved the spot and had a great time. Thank you!!

We decided to book a very spontaneous ski trip to Stowe. Riverside Inn was showing no vacancy on several booking sites so we called directly and were lucky enough to grab a double queen room in the Motel portion of the establishment. Julian and his wife own the Motel & Inn and were very accomodating to us arriving around 3am in the morning. They don't advertise themselves as a frilly resort, you're paying for what you get which is a bed, bathroom, and a place to crash after a long day of adventuring. The location is literally central to anything you'd want to do around Stowe. Less than a 5 minute drive to the slopes, you really can't beat it. Not to mention, although we ended up staying in the motel, Julian mentioned that the Inn portion of the available rooms was built in 1821 making it an awesome opportunity to experience some of Stowe's history.

My husband and I needed to get off the LT and headed here for a night. The owners were SO nice and very accommodating to a couple of tired and stinky hikers. They really went above and beyond for us. The room was great and clean, soft beds. All at an amazing price for the area. Highly recommended and we would absolutely stay here again.
Lot of great places to eat too.

My husband and I decided to take a weekend trip to Stowe with our dog and booked an AirBnB months ago. When we got to the AirBnB, there were personal health hazards and we needed to leave immediately. Which meant we were searching for a place to stay in Vermont. The day of. During leaf season. It was a nightmare.

After searching and searching, I called the Riverside Inn and from the moment the owner answered the phone, I felt hopeful! He was so kind, relaxed, and understanding. He truly empathized with us and our situation and was able to offer us a room for a very reasonable price. He had the room ready for us within twenty minutes. He checks in with the guests each morning and is incredibly accommodating. He cares about his guests and their stories and is conversational, welcoming, and hospitable.

We stayed in a room that hasn’t been fully renovated, yet, but it was still an enjoyable stay. The beds/pillows weren’t the most comfortable, but they weren’t terrible.The room was fairly clean and had everything we would need, including a coffee maker! The window looks out over a stream and the inn is within walking distance of many places to eat and is a quick drive to downtown Stowe. There is even a lovely trail right off the property that was great for our dog. They also have a ton of games to play in the common area!

If you’re looking for a hospitable, reasonable, and friendly place to stay in Stowe, this is the place! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s got charm and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Riverside Inn!!

I love the fact that they are pet friendly…to any kind of animal you may call a pet. Seriously. The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners are amazing people. We were in desperate need of a room for 3 weeks and they gave us one and at a really low cost so that we can afford to have a Christmas with our family. Not knowing us at all, they came through for us even in ways our family and friends couldn’t or wouldn’t. To those with the negative reviews...go to the website. They explain to you that its a 200 year old building and if you’re looking for the Ritz, then go to the Ritz because here you‘re going to get a clean, comfortable room that has the charm and quirks of a 200 year old house. It mentions that their are shared bathrooms and it makes it clear what to expect. Also, almost all motels, hotels, Inns, B&Bs and AirBnBs do not refund your money if you leave early. It’s common practice. I definitely recommend staying here. It’s got what you need with some added charm. The shower head in room 15 was pretty nifty. You’ll have to come book a night in the room to see for yourself though.
It’s located right next to the bike path where I took my dogs for a walk several times a day. There is a ton of restaurants and shops within walking distance…including the Liquor Outlet :)
And a bunch more attractions just a very short drive away. I didn’t stay in the main Inn because I was in the pet friendly rooms out back but from what I noticed when I went in to do the quickest check in I’ve ever experienced, it appeared to be very cozy and clean. I loved the place and will make it my go-to when needing a room in the future.

We stayed at the Riverside Inn and it was clean and updated. Working with the property management was easy and very good. She recommended places for us to eat and overall I would stay here again. Outside the back, there is a walking trail with beautiful views.

Incredible value. I stayed one night and found it to be more than adequate for my needs. It was clean and the inn keepers were friendly. They had a great place for me to park my motorcycle as well. It was a hot day but my room was comfortable and cool with a window air conditioner. When I stay in Stowe again I will definitely reserve a room here.

It was a small and cozy hotel with a lovely husband and wife running it. It was also very clean. On arrival I told the wife that I was going to a wedding, she asked me if I needed an iron or ironing board, or anything else. There was a genuine kindness and warmth coming from both the people running it and the environment itself. If I ever go back to that area I will be staying there again. Good price and a better stay.

If you’re looking for a reasonable price, fun environment and amazing company, this is the place to stay. The host and hostess have been so kind, and we have had plenty of fun playing chess, pool and conversing with the inn keepers!

I stayed here for a ski trip to Mount Stowe. The location is super convenient, next to good restaurants and breweries. There is a shuttle that brings you to the mountain with a close bus stop. The service is great, the price is right. I will come here again for my next Stowe trip.

We had an awesome stay here! There is WiFi (we found out later), the inn owners are friendly, the rooms were roomy, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, there was a tv, fridge, and coffee maker in the room which was also nice! All in all we felt like there was plenty of room. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The innkeepers Kay and Jay were the most accommodating host I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy...the shower was amazing. I'll definitely be back!

Just a tremendously fun place to stay. The owners are friendly and engaging folks. The location couldn't be better. Quick access to everything you could want. We walked to handful of restaurants, and it was a quick drive to anything else you could want.

Very nice and friendly staff! The place was very clean, nothing fancy or modern but it was definitely a good place to stay at. Also bike trails run just behind it and the owner provided some bike with no extra fee.

Great location on main strip in Stowe,Vt. The owners are absolute Sweethearts! No frills, but very clean and efficient. Best Price in Stowe! River path and water hole runs just behind motel. Free mountain bikes to ride, picnic area and gas grills available for use. My daughter left her newly prescribed glasses and Julian (owener) mailed it back in a new case and added a wiper for glasses; all just in time before school starts! Thanks guys! See you next year..😉

Great caretakers. Shared bathrooms was the only adjustment I didnt want to make...but everything was clean and proper. Enjoyed my stay because it was right next door to many great eateries/establishments.

Typical New England home and I was very impressed with the large room and pet availability. Close to shopping and activities. Owner very polite and ready to help out. Would definitely stay here again.

I personally loved it. Within walking distance to a few bars. Easy access to the MTN rd. Bike path right in back. We'll definitely return.
