Hotel Tucson City Center

Let me first start this review by saying 1 thing, this hotel is under renovation and 2/3's of the grounds are closed. However, the part that is open and newly renovated is wonderful. I booked here for a personal vacation and had a very comfortable stay. Don't listen to the reviews saying the breakfast is disgusting and what not. The breakfast was hot and fresh, all delicious. I actually feel like this hotel did a really nice job with the breakfast buffet compared to other places. Upon arriving the initial room I got placed in had an issue with one of the power outlets. They quickly got me switched and gave me a slight upgrade. The bathroom was alot nicer in the new room. Both rooms were clean tho, and faced the courtyard and pool. It was a very relaxing stay all in all. I would come back and I paid full price. I wasn't dissapointed with this stay. The only thing, and it's not really an issue, is the location. This hotel has been here for a while, so time has sort of nestled it back into its own area and is surrounded by alot of city. The entrance is sort of weird to get Into, but it's not bad. Once the entire hotel is completely renovated and open I'm sure it'll be a gem!

I'm so glad I didn't read the reviews first. This place was great. Yes, there were stains on the carpet, and yes, it's a tad run down. But I'm so glad I stayed here-the pool, the kind employees, the comfortable bed, the tall shower head, the complimentary breakfast, it was all good. My only complaint was hearing the trains early in the morning. So glad I stayed here.

Beautifully renovated rooms- the decor is high quality - no particle board here. The room doors are impressive (I love a nice door) - definitely quality. We stayed in the renovated section and were pleased with our pool view from our balcony- watching the monsoons from our balcony last night was awesome. Once the entire hotel is renovated, I know this place will be impressive. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and want to personally thank Kaitlin for her friendly welcome and assistance with food delivery and helping us out with silverware. Kaitlin, you are awesome- thank you for making our stay during our travels enjoyable.

We really enjoyed our stay here! First, and obviously most important, the hotel was clean... no dirt, bugs or mold in the hotel room. They also asked that people wear masks in the more common areas... even though I'm fully vaccinated I thought this was the correct move. The staff were very friendly and I thought the security guard was at the pool was very friendly and offered some good suggestions. The location was also pretty great... you can walk to some restaurants for dinner (not that you want to when it's 97 outside in the evening)You can tell they put a lot of thought into this hotel from the vegan unisex shampoo to the buttons you press if you want you room cleaned or not. The breakfast was the best part! They had real eggs, salsa, bacon one day/sausage the next, fruit and overnight oats with fruit and honey. It was delicious! The swimming pool was one of the deeper pools I've ever seen at a hotel. This was perfect to cool off after a morning of hiking. My one suggestion on where they could improve is the shade options at the pool. They didn't have any umbrellas and were cleaning the material for their verandas. The pool is not shaded either and if you wanted to take a short break from being in the water, you could not do so without being directly in the sun, which is just too much.

Our room was newly renovated, comfortable, and quiet. We loved the $5 breakfast and our host/waitress, Toni was great. I had a drink at the bar that evening and the bartender was also friendly and efficient. The lady at the front desk offered us complementary drink tickets. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. We will be staying with them again!

The location is perfect, the rooms very comfortable, cost is very affordable, breakfast was delicious and a great value, pool was so pretty and inviting, bar service was available for those that wanted it, business meeting and catering was great but the staff really made the stay awesome. Lupita, Maria and Stanley were amazing! They made sure that our every need was taken care of for the entire week. Their prior planning made the meeting and week happen without a hitch. We will surely utilize the hotel again when we are in the Tucson area.

I was the head coordinator for our annual Military Ball and the event took place at this place. Maria Chun was my main point of contact and she helped me make sure I had everything I needed to plan out everything. She was very patient with me for having endless emails, phone calls, and questions. The hotel is very clean and organized. The hotel staff were all very nice to us. I was very lucky to have worked with such hard working staff.

I produced a large event at Hotel City Center Tucson and I was thrilled with the service and hospitality! The staff go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They put so much love in to making every detail the best they can. The hotel has renovated quite a bit and the improvements keep coming. I'm looking forward to seeing the final results.
I will DEFINITELY be using them again for other events.

Beautiful, newly renovated hotel! I stayed a full week and had no complaints. The room was very nice and comfortable beds and pillows. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions I had about the area and where to eat. The manager Maria was very kind and checked in on me to ensure I was having a great stay! The hotel is walking distance to downtown and great shops and restaurants!

This hotel recently came under new ownership. It is possible to see what they have been doing with it and I hope you return in the future to see how far it goes. Beautiful new lobby and restaurant. Some of the time need some work, though they have some newly renovated rooms already. Didn't experience any problems even with a older room. Staff was really courteous and friendly.

This motel is AWESOME in every way and I can't for the life of me comprehend the low ratings. In my experiences here the Staff exceeds professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail in regards to satisfying and appeasing the needs of their guests. They are constantly updating and upgrading not only the rooms (which I feel are TOP RATE), but the grounds as well. And in regards to the comments about the status and cleanliness of the rooms.....the amenities are modern, updated, and SPOTLESS. If you're visiting Tucson don't scrimp on a budget motel which will only leave you frustrated and un refreshed.....make your stay at Hotel Tucson City Center....I guarantee you'll check out Invigorated and revitalized......In fact, you'll be hard pressed to check out at all.....Definitely "The Jewel" of Tucson.

Lobby was gorgeous. Newly remodeled rooms were nice. Walking distance to the Music Hall. The desk clerk on the night shift was awesome. She ordered me food from her own phone since i was we'll say challenged after the concert I attended. Id's stay there again in a heart beat.

Me and my son stayed here. So friendly and the room was amazing. Softest beds. First hotel in ages where the pool was open and the atmosphere was amazing. My son kept saying 5 stars all weekend. It truly was.

We had a pleasant stay there. Camille was very accommodating in booking us. We would definitely recommend this Hotel for a basic stay. It was easy to find despite being tucked away downtown. We came in for a sports tournament. Camille made it the best. Very friendly and kind.

Room was very clean, staff were very helpful and the location was perfect for getting to downtown area easily.
They are renovating, so restaurant isn't open, but they had a great free breakfast!!
They have a list of nearby restaurants which was very helpful.

The room was spacious and clean with a pleasant view of the courtyard and gorgeous pool. The staff was absolutely fabulous, friendly and personable with great recommendations. Tucson itself was fun and interesting, but the very pleasant hotel really made our stay special.

The grounds were well kept. I enjoyed my free drink from the room balcony watching the pool and birds. I didn't get an opportunity to eat there but it looked good. Rooms were updated and the bed was comfy.

First time staying here, and I will most likely be making this one of my go-to hotels for when I visit Tucson.

Updated rooms (we had a King Suite, and it's HUGE!), quiet, clean, comfy bed.

We read the reviews on google, this hotel sounded decent so we made reservations. The reviews didn't do it justice. This hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly and extremely nice. The room was a decent modern feel. The bar located in the hotel was nice and relaxing. They do offer free drinks within happy hour and this comes with your rate. Also, the complimentary breakfast was delicious. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND WILL STAY HERE AGAIN (if in town)

Hotel Tucson City Center, Ascend Collection is a fantastic place to host a party, banquet or Reception of any kind. I held a leadership position with The Knights of Columbus, for a number of years. One of my duties was to plan and host an annual awards dinner. I held it at Hotel Tucson City Center, 4 years in a row. I give my absolute best rating on everything from the food, the facility and the service from Ownership/Management and the staff!

I also have stayed at Hotel Tucson! Great place, beautiful! Everything about my stay was excellent and I will definitely stay again.
