We absolutely loved our stay at Field Guide Lodge! The staff was so friendly and we ended up with an upgraded room for our or at family vacation! The breakfast every morning was fantastic, the decor was super fun, and the location couldn’t have been better. We got to take advantage of the hot tub as well. Communication was a breeze. We had a perfect time and can’t wait to visit again!

Absolutely fantastic stay at The Field Guide Lodge. I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night. Loved the way it was decorated. We loved our room and the lighting. The staff was incredibly attentive. The breakfast (which was included in our rate) was delicious!

This was a fun place for our stay a few weeks ago. Great location to walk and explore the other stores and restaurants in the area. Staff was very friendly and accommodating; morning food options were good and tasty. We really enjoyed staying here for 3 nights.

Had the pleasure of staying here on a Monday night during the second week of January. I booked a single king bed room in the main house and it was a great choice for lodging! They included a welcome package with snacks and bottled waters and offered free breakfast from 8 am - 10 am. The location is a 10 minute walk from downtown Stowe with many restaurants on the way and the walk is very scenic. It’s about a 10 minute drive to Spruce Peak and Mt. Mansfield base by car, they offer a free shuttle to the mountain but it’s about a 25-30 minute shuttle ride. Unless staying mountain side at The Lodge at Spruce Peak is important to you, I would stay here for the nearby conveniences and the accessibility of downtown Stowe.

Comfortable room and fun lounge area. Lots of great little touches like cookies on arrival. Kids loved the hot chocolate and cider in the lobby in the afternoon. Easy access to the resort via shuttle. Overall a very nice stay.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Field Guide Lodge. The team there takes great care and pride in their guest experience.

I was welcomed to my room with cookies and a locally-sourced welcome gift. The bed was comfortable, made with soft sheets and a fluffy comforter. They even had good pillows. The soaps provided in the bathroom smelled fantastic and were of high quality. I appreciated being able to open my room’s windows and also control the heat of the room with the thermostat. The rooms had great lighting with dimmers for ambiance. The wood furniture kept it a cozy ski vibe and the drawers were spacious for all my things. They had a wet-shoes pad and a place to hang all my ski stuff.

I was there for over a week and had some requests for housekeeping that they filled right away.

They had coffee and tea available all day and closer to the weekend, had a bar and eatery available. I really enjoyed that they had games in their public spaces which I made use of by the wood fireplaces. I also appreciated that when the fireplace was off, it just took asking at the desk for someone to make another fire. There wasn’t hard set times for the fireplaces.

The public space provided great working space too for when I needed to take a meeting or answer emails.

The location of the hotel is so convenient. A 9 minute drive from Stowe mountain, a stones throw from the center of town, and walking distance from some really great restaurants and cafes.

Parking was also really easy and on days of lots of snow they kept salting and plowing the parking lots.

Thank you to the Field Guide team with providing me with such a great experience. I would most definitely stay again.

Beautiful and stylish lodge with all spaces created with comfort in mind. The breakfasts each day were a total treat and the music this past weekend - WOW!!! Madelyn was an exceptional host and clearly knows how to make her guests feel right at home and totally cared for. We had a ball and hate to leave! So glad I kept a lark coupon in my wallet for a LONG time. It reminded me to go back to one of their incredible properties and we were NOT disappointed.

We absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in early November, so after the peak season it was nice and quiet. The hotel itself seems to be a bit older, but the rooms and the common areas were very nicely redone. The combination and the interior gave it a very cozy and comfortable feel. The only important thing is that it can be a bit noisy at night due to the building being older, I'd recommend to bring ear plugs if you're sensitive.
We really enjoyed reading a book in front of one of the three fire places and spent some time in the hot tub. The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was small but well selected, offering yoghurt, granola, fruit and mini quiche. Stowe is a beautiful little village with a few shops and restaurants, everything is in walking distance. Can't recommend the Field Guide Lodge enough, we would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed as part of our honeymoon road trip, and we absolutely loved staying here as part of our trip. The staff were extremely kind, and were efficient with check in and checking out.
The lodge/lobby was so cute, and we found ourselves using the space to enjoy a glass of wine. There are multiple fireplaces to enjoy.
The room we stayed in was cute, clean, and we loved the views. We appreciated all the small touches they left for us.
We truly enjoyed our time here during our stay and wish to come back the next time we return to the northeast!

We enjoyed our stay at Field Guide Lodge, the staff was very friendly and kind. The room was very comfortable and spacious. It is 10-15 minutes from the ski resort so do consider that time for your trip, if skiing.

We only stayed one night but wished it was more! The lodge is beautiful with so many gorgeous areas to sit and relax or enjoy a cocktail once the bar opens! Our room was clean and ready when we arrived, the staff was all very courteous and we definitely plan to go back.

ยท We had a beautiful room in the Trail House - actually more of an apartment, perfect for our stay with our 6 months old baby girl (she was sleeping in the bed room while we could relax in the living room). The common areas are super cozy and welcoming. The entire hotel is extremely well designed and decorated: contemporary but keeping the spirit of Vermont coziness. We really liked the breakfast: simple but delicious. And we could bring it up to the room

After researching a few hotels on You Tube, we decided to stay at the Field Guide Lodge after a mother / daughter duo recommended it. We found the accommodation to be top notch. We stayed in the Trail House room which is a king suite. It was very spacious and comfortable. We especially liked the fireplace. It really added to the overall ambiance. Having a tv in both the bedroom and living room was appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was a welcome surprise each morning. My only recommendation to the owner would be to add a small table next to the bathroom sink to house toiletries and makeup. Thank you for making our stay in Stowe memorable!

5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous lobby, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality tub and furniture (there was even waffle kimono robes & eucalyptus bath salt by the shower), and high quality service. I did research about the area before booking and after checking in, I quickly realized that every place I wanted to visit was either right across the street or within walking distance from the hotel. The restaurant right across the street is perfect for dinner or even a quick bite with drinks. There’s a movie theater that also serves alcohol right across the street. A delicious Indian restaurants right down the road for takeout. We’re very close to beautiful hiking trails and biking routes. Thank you so much for the top notch service and experience. They also have a hot tub!

Field Guide Lodge in Stowe was right next to restaurants, an art gallery, the bike path and was walkable to downtown too! Perfect location. It also has excellent room temperature control and breakfast was good. You can book hot tub times and also there is a pool. Parking is free and convenient.

What a gem! Stayed for a night on our way to a wedding. Hung out by the fire pit in the evening, made some friends, had a couple drinks at the bar, walked to dinner. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great. We will definitely be back for a winter ski trip!
