My son injured his elbow snowboarding. Our primary care doctor referred us to Dr. Soma. His office worked us in quickly. Dr. Soma was very knowledgeable. He personally called me to go over the MRI results and make recommendations. I was very impressed with the entire experience and with Dr. Soma!

Came highly recommended from our chiro and very responsive to my daughters injury , reviewed her medical history and immediately provided actual care along with a follow up call and appt.

We were out of pocket as our plan was not covered and will be switching to his network now... Wonderful “pain relieving” experience. Water and snacks provided in lobby helped relax and was a nice touch.

I was so fortunate to find this very competent and friendly orthopedic practice. I had such a terrible experience at Maui medical Group I decided to seek out another opinion. I came across North Shore Orthopedics and was able to schedule an appointment the next day! (I did not have to wait 2 weeks as I had at MMG.) I did have to wait a bit for the PA, Scott Smith, as he was with another patient. After meeting him, however, I realize why I had to wait: he actually takes time to listen to his patients and talk with them about their history. Mr. Smith had a great bed side manner and good sense of humor which made the overall appointment painless. Scott Smith knows what he is doing AND he knows patient care.
The office staff was also glad to help me with billing issues and very friendly.
This experience was such a stark contrast to Maui Medical Group that I sure hope more individuals who actually need orthopedic care find their way to North Shore.

Was referred to Dr. Soma for a wrist fracture. Was able to get an appointment immediately and the office staff was very pleasant to work with. Wait time to see doctor was minimal. He was very thorough in explaining my options for recovery and responded to my medical concerns in a very professional manner by opening a dialog for me to ask questions.. His nurse Margaret is awesome!! I Underwent a surgical procedure for my fracture on a Friday and Dr. Soma was available on the weekend to further assist me in the recovery process. Though I’m only a week out of surgery, I have confidence in continuum of care. Highly recommended

This Doc really knows how to take care of his patient! From start to finish,. dealing with Dr. Soma and his staff is a very pleasant and professional experience. His office staff are most accommodating. His Wailuku medical office facility is very comfortable and clean, both waiting and the exam rooms. You are always greeted by smiling staff. Dr. Soma very much listens to your medicals concerns and then offer alternatives to move forward to correct the problems. In my case it was a very bothersome meniscus tear. He scheduled the surgery promptly and performed it miraculously. I came out of surgery with little to no pain and am so happy I moved forward with the corrective surgical process. The follow-up appointments were professional, uplifting, and very positive. Access to both Dr. Soma and his staff was awesome. I would describe the total experience as being far superior than most medical experiences I have been involved with and in one word "amazing". My future mobility and enjoyment with my grandchildren, biking, and snowboarding is due to Dr. Soma's professionalism. To say the least I am a very very satisfied customer. I am glad I can share my experience to assist others to move forward with Dr. Soma. You cant go wrong!!

Excellent service! Responsive , skilled and available doctor exactly when I needed care! Explained process of healing after my bicycle injury.I’m so grateful! My cast is also a very cool teal color. No more pain! So grateful.

I've been there 3 times to address a injury to my knee and Dr. Soma and staff have taken the best care of me. I am back at working out, running, crossfit and now have a good plan to continue to manage the knee . Dr. Soma asked all the right questions, he was patient and took time to get to know my lifestyle . 5 star i'd give them a six if I could. Excellent practice over there at Northshore.

Dr Soma thinks fast and acts fast and isn't in the business of feeding someones egotistical demand of self indulged senses of undeserved respect...he's a doctor and does the job with complete precision. Surgery isn't psychiatry.The staff? Way beyond the call of duty and a total no nonsense approach as this is what gets the job done. Streamlined and efficient, very refreshing compared to 90 percent of the offices I've visited in my life. I'm not fake either. I recommend this doctor to anyone concerned about their well being.

My son broke his patella (knee cap) 1 day before our 3 week Maui vacation. It happened on a weekend so he wasn't able to see an orthopedic surgeon before we got to Maui. I found Dr. Charles Soma on a Google search and they got us in the day after I called. I am so thankful and appreciative of the quality of service from Dr. Soma and his staff. They took so much time with us. My son needed a little extra help and they went above and beyond to give it to him. Special thanks to Margaret for being awesome, we really appreciate you! Dr Soma is the very best physician and surgeon I have ever met. I had a mumford procedure done on right shoulder. Excellent work. Minimal scar. Very caring. I am a nurse and have been for over 30 years. I recommend Dr Soma to everyone. Excellent skills

Scott Smith is wonderful! He was professional, concise, and made my visit comfortable. I came in for a back issue that I’ve visited the doctor on and done physical therapy for, at least 3 times prior to my visit. He was able to pinpoint the source of my pain and explain how it contributed to other pained areas. Something no one else to date has been able to do for me. I’m a baby when it comes to needles but he even handled my fear so well that I braved it through getting a shot. Wow, that was a big deal for me.

I had a very unfortunate injury on the first day of my vacation in Maui which was very frustrating. I was referred to Dr. Soma and the entire staff at North Shore Orthopedics (receptionist, assistant, nurse, and doctor) were incredibly friendly and took a genuine interest in my well being and finding a resolution that worked. They took me on short notice and even filled out my paperwork (injury caused the lack of use in my dominant hand and arm). I am very grateful for the service I received here.

I recommend Dr. Soma. I had bad arthritis and bone spurs in my basal thumb joint. I am so pleased and happy he was able to help me pain free. He did a basal joint replacement for my thumb. Fyi: he placed an joint (implant) in the area of defect. If you are having pain .. Go for it! Cuz I love it. Dr So.a also did carpal tunnel surgery on two of my hand, and a trigger finger. I trust his judgment!

Why fly to Oahu , or to the Mainland when you have Doctor Soma performing ' ACE Surgery's on Maui ' Understand , it is much easier to going to his Surgery Center , Recover , and go Home , than . Fly to other islands or Mainland , Rent Hotels and eat unhealthy food , being away from family and helping friends , Maui is Easy for recovery.

I have my hip for 11 Years and must say , I can perform all the actives well. Of course you will not be able to jump like a young child but ,,,,, i can do all the hikes and long walks with my Wife .

Dr. Soma performed a very complex hip operation on my husband. It is due to his fine surgical skills that my husband is walking again. My husband and I cannot thank Dr. Soma enough.
