It is always nice to park a car next to the ferry and take a walk to the Tip of The North Fork. There is udually a deer family there.
You can also see the difference with high and low tide.

One of the most unique viewpoints on the Island. The land narrows to a literal point and, depending upon the tide, you can have both the Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay lapping at your ankles. Beware of strong tides. Good fishing here as well. Please pack out your trash, and consider bringing an extra bag to haul some refuse from less considerate. Purchase a Suffolk County Outer Beach Permit at Indian Island to drive to the point or park at the lot and enjoy the hike. Great place to watch a storm too!

Great park, easy walk on gravel road or easy stroll on mowed trail. Along the gravel road there are mulberry trees with berries you can eat in season (June). We saw some deer and enjoyed it a lot.

Wow!! With but a small hike taking a tops of 20-25 mins, you'll find yourself at a magnificent beach- but not one of sand- of rocks! This rock beach allows you to go all the way down, with beatiful white birch trees fallen along the rocks and gentle waves cascading along the edge. I loved my time here, and reccomend highly it to others! ⛱🐚

Quiet, plenty of places to fish or relax. Decent space for parking too! At low tide, theres some sand bars that come up that makes photos of the Orient Point Lighthouse even better!

Nice and quiet state park on the North Fork. You can walk down Point Rd all around the East-most tip of the island or you could bring out a cooler and a beach umbrella and have a picnic on the gravel beach overlooking the sound. Not a lot of thrills there but that might just be what you are looking for.

It was sunset. Perfect time and place to take photos. Apparently people fish here. We went to see the light house. However it was literally in the water. Still beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Small parking lot. Flat bridle path to a serene beach. Walk is about 10 minutes. Endless amounts of beautiful rocks and seashells, and there is a view of the lighthouse. Would like visit again during sunrise or sunset.

Simply love able just the walking is a bit difficult since its loose pebbles and not sand, but the views are just breathtaking.

Great experience to see the waves of the sound hitting the wave of the bay.
The is a “no amenity” park. Walk the trail and stay out of the private property.
A small parking area is available.

This is a cute kind of Hidden Trail that's right across from the ferry literally right across from it. It brings you out to a beach that's very private and very peaceful absolutely beautiful

Wonderful beach located at the very end of LI on the North Shore. Wonderful place to walk or bike ride too! Tables and playground available. Clean bathrooms. Lots of local wildlife. Flat water, no waves on a sandy beach, since it is located on the Bay side.

One of my favorite spots! Gorgeous views! Short, but great hiking! You can even find ruins of the old Orient Inn that once stood near the entrance!

A very cool, small county park at the very tip of the North Fork. Park in the hidden clearing at the very end of the road on the left (big enough for 4 cars), or take Land's End Road to Latham Lane to Point Road and park there. You'll want good walking shoes. If the tide is out, and you're willing to scramble down some boulders, you can walk out to the actual tip (see below).

One of the North Fork's hidden FREE treasures. Easy to spend an hour or three, walking all the way to the point (Orient Point) or hanging out on the long beach collecting beach glass. WORD OF WARNING, DONT SWIM HERE, the long shore current has been dangerous and has swept people off into Plum Gut.

Beautiful vistas in almost every direction from here. On a clear day you can see Connecticut to the north and Montauk to the south. If you're visiting Greenport or this area it's well worth a quick stop. You can park nearby and walk to the actual point.
