Long Island Jewish Valley Stream

On 12/19/23 one of the scariest things that can happen, did. My partner presented with cardiac symptoms and needed help right away. I took him to LIJ Valley stream, and I have to say I was impressed by how quick and responsive everyone were. Particularly since I brought him in, not by ambulance. The staff were amazing. From RN Bridget making a scary situation less stressful. To PA Wang giving us an update every step of the way. To the ER Physician going the extra mile to re examine further, rather than just discharging us, to simply clear out the ER. To the Covering RN Marilyn who took the time to explain the procedure in detail to my guy, that he was being transferred to have, while RN Bridget went on her break. Words can never express my gratitude, but I simply want to say Thank you 🙏🏾

On March 13th I came to LIJ Valley Stream ER since I was not feeling well. I had really bad flu like symptoms and was feeling very weak. This is the first time visiting this hospital. I moved in the neighborhood 6 minutes away. I thought maybe I should just stay close to home, despite I read reviews and it wasn't as I expected. I was determined to give it a try. I arrived almost at 7am. I got registered, triage. Due to my abnormal vitals I was taken into a beautiful clean room in the ER department. The nurse came to see me and from my triage report she hook up a IV to my arm and took some test. Later an X-ray was done follow by two CT scan and the doctor came by to see me and he as amazing due to my diagnosis. I was admitted and I went up to the floor. All the people that cross my path in the ER from registration, techs, RN’s, transporter, janitor, engineering wish me well. Everyone was amazing. I felt so safe and knew I was in the right place. I was very happy from the bottom of my heart. As I move to the floor, I couldn’t be happier not a single person that cross my path didn’t wish me well. Everyone wish me to get well soon and I felt that was a blessing. I am so happy I came here. I am still here and hoping to leave soon.
I really felt so much better and full of energy. I felt I got blessed by all the employees not a single person look at me in disgust everyone amazes me I am so thankful for all of the them. With their positivity and their well wishes I felt 100% better than when I first came in and my long review is because of my happiness and my recovery I got from LIJ Valley Stream, Northwell Health Hospital. Many many thank you to each and everyone of you. May God blessed all of you🙏🏼. You’re all are the best💐

I was unhappy because I waited for over 4 hours to see the doctor. but When the doctor came to see me, I saw his eyes so red, he must very tired. I feel bad for the doctor, sometimes we only see the parts, I thought they not busy, I thought they just slow... but the fact they are busy, they are hard working. Thank you Doctor Chan help me, he is a great doctor!

For 2023 (and I pray no more for this year) I went to the Emergency room at LIJ Valley Stream fives times and I am amazed at the staff. I am not saying that everything was perfect. I am not saying that everything was peach and bright. I am not saying that they solved every problem. I am saying that I watched the staff care for people. I was there yesterday and I sat, cried and prayed for the team as they worked on two patients who were having some life challenges. I kept hearing one of the nurses say to the patient who was in distress, " it's okay, you are in the hospital" and eventually they were able to carry out the duties they needed to help this man (and I left them still attending to his care). I know when we go to the ER, we go focused on our loved ones or even ourselves but if you can take a minute and watch what goes on around you, you too will lift up a prayer for every ER personnel in whatever hospital you go.

Father, I pray for every ER personnel. Please keep them, help them, watch over them, give them the wisdom, knowledge and understanding they need to tackle every case that comes in. As they take care of others, remind them to take care of themselves as they are valuable. Thank you especially for the ER team at LIJ Valley Stream. They strive each day to attend to the needs of their surrounding community and for this I give you thanks in Jesus' name. Amen

Hi I had to get a knee replacement on Dec 18 Dr patrick leung did the surgery. And. I was really scare. The team in the or and the Dr did a great job with me. From everybody there was so helpfully. There food I could not belive was great I was in for 3 days . I think I put a few pounds on from the food . Lol. I'm going to make long Island Jewish hospital my hospital there really care about me. Now. I'm walking get now. Thank you so mysg

Great experience while being admitted . They treat you well. And accommodate you. Their food is also amazing

I recently had a scheduled surgical procedure here and I have to say I was put at ease the minute I entered the hospital lobby. The gentleman who assisted me and my family was so kind and kept reassuring me that everything would turn out well. Registration was prompt and easy and once I entered the pre-op area I was attended by a team of wonderful nurses, doctors and anesthesiologists. Dr. Paul Chung is a phenomenal doctor and the team who assisted him were truly amazing. They answered all my questions, made me feel comfortable and put my mind at ease the entire time. The procedure went smoothly and I went home same-day as planned. The short time I spent in their recovery area I was well taken care of and again, the team made sure I had everything I needed. I truly appreciate everyone at LIJ Valley Stream who attended to me, took care of me and most of all, operated on me - thank you so SO much for all that you do!

August,2023 I was admitted for a surgical procedure on my lower back.
The hospitals Registration and Admitting Staff welcomed me offering kind words of encouragement and motivation coming from an employee identified later as Ms. SICU Manager, Cheryl. (Thank God for You).
My procedure began as scheduled, Once entering the Operating Room, seeing all of medicines most innovative and advanced medical equipment, I was confident I had chosen the correct hospital facility to perform my procedure.
I can’t say enough good things about the professional care and expertise applied from the staff working in Orthopedic Surgery who treated and nursed me in room 225B until my discharge.
Fantastic professionals at work included Shoshana PA, RN’s Vivienne Boss Lady, Mildred Casareno, Danielle , Kialowti Mohan, Babbette, Marleen, Mildred, Ian ambassador of Food and Nutrition.
I may have forgotten to list several employee’s names comprising the team of professionals providing excellence in healthcare. However, the significant impact of your work affecting my life, I will never forget.

Excellent hospital, to me they very caring and helpful at all times, especially overnight. Whenever I called they were right there. Nurses were also very caring and helpful. I guess I was very surprised that I was treating as well as I thought. I just want to thank the staff that was on during my stay. Oh yeah, the food, to my surprise, was especially very good. I was washing a dirty dog and had a severe asthma attack. My breathing was getting worse by the minute.
My friend brought me in last night and the staff and doctors treated me like a superstar. I was feeling better in no time! I recommend this hospital with respect to everyone who works there. Thank you all!

I really don’t know where to begin. I was in so much pain after getting discharge from another hospital who ran necessary test and told me that I had an ulcer, even dispute my concerns that something wasn’t right.
I went home and the pain hit me so hard and have my children in tears just looking at me balled up in bed.
Someone called and advice my children to jump in the car and take me to Franklin Hospital Northwell. When I arrived, the staff there was very professional. They took care of all my need and jumped right in to find out my concerns.
Working with Dr. Chan was the best thing ever. After learning that something was definitely wrong on the scan, he jumped into high gear to find me a surgeon that could take care of what was found. They took me into surgery and God helped them to work a miracle. I cannot ask for a better team than these doctors and surgeons. I am really really happy that they work so hard to ensure that I made it through surgery with no complications.

Had a great experience with my 77 year old mother in October 2022. Turns out she had covid and pneumonia. The staff was very attentive and worked on her before she was admitted. They took great care of her.

I took my dad here yesterday and the staff was simply so pleasant. The wait of course as always is a little bit however that is expected of any emergency room. The doctors and nurses were unfortunately short staffed however they still took great care of my dad. This hospital is one of the smaller ones but they are definitely getting their jobs done efficiently. I went here when I was sick a few years ago and their fast track system is so effective I was not in there for more than 2 hours. The medication I was given had me feeling better the very next day. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

After 3 surgeries in 4 weeks, I have to say that I can’t express how amazing and thoroughly wonderful the care at the hospital is and continues to be as I move onto my next phase. Big shoutouts to Drs. Hunter, Tarleton, Toth and Matt, nurses Unique, Barry, Lauren and Victoria and PCAs Marilyn and Deanna. They rock!!

I was admitted to the ED on April 30th, 2023.
When brought to the ICU PA Zamzami, Sehaam was able to take care of what I needed to survive.
She is very skilled and does what is needed with precision.
I wanted to Thank her and the RN Innocent for their diligence during my stay in the critical care unit.

This is my perspective because I had to call an ambulance so my son was attended very quickly. The nurses were super empathetic with my son who has autism. They accommodated him as soon as possible and checked on him often. Daniela, Jenna , Doctor Sarah were ver helpful . There was one nurse that received us she was great too! Thank you all!

Words cannot express my heart felt gratitude to this institution. I just want to say thank you to all those who were a part of my experience there. The emergency staff was the most caring and respectful people I have ever met. After being admitted for just a day.. from the time I entered the lobby the smiles and warm welcoming from the staff was very comforting. The surgical staff was The best ever...special recognition and thanks for making me feel so comfortable to my barbadian family Mrs. MARGARET... to my doctor and his surgical team..you were the best and I thank you all for taking such excellent care of me. To the hospital..keep up the excellent work you do there and again..thank you.

My grandma had a reverse shoulder replacement with DR. Lenart. An orthopedic. The surgery was perfect, and he is a great surgeon! The nurses that tended my grandma were so careful and understanding. They made her feel comfortable physically and took into account her emotions along the process. Everything does take time at the hospital but they moved quickly. Thank you so much to all the RN’s Rinu, Jingting and everyone else!
They have hospital food which is standard tasting, but the man that delivered it was like a day of sunshine.
Even the vallet was great and free.
I would return here if I needed to and we live at the end of Long Island.

A family member was in emergency this evening, and the people in emergency room including the girl who answers the phone were so helpful. She calmed my nerves and was extremely helpful. The male operator answers with a cheerful voice too. I am grateful for the caring attitude as I live very far away and would have to take a plane to New York. The staff cared for him and gave him medication before he went home. Hopefully, others have a good experience as hospitals can be hit or miss.
