This rustic little spot was exactly what we needed. Though the rooms are in the process of being updated the hosts and service are what separates this spot from the rest. From the welcome chocolates, to the friendly greetings to the abundance of service and friendliness, we cannot say enough. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!

I was looking for a place to stay as my son was going to be playing baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park and when I chose the Hayden Creek Inn, I had no idea I was signing up for a truly special experience. From the moment we walked through the door, Austin - innkeeper extraordinaire - made us feel as though we’d found our home away from home. He was warm, super funny (it's no small feat to make a bunch of teenagers wholeheartedly laugh) and went out of his way to assure we were comfortable; it was like visiting your closest friend. We all loved him. The room was so comfortable and a pleasure to come back to after a day at the park. The creek is beautiful and such fun to dip your toes in. It was so nice to wake to breakfast before venturing out for the day. Everything about our experience was magical. Whether you are looking to stay somewhere for baseball, check out the opera or just bask in this gorgeous part of NY, I highly recommend staying here. You won’t want to leave but when you do, you’ll take great memories with you that will make you want to cartwheel every time you revisit them.

This is a gem in the rough. We stayed for a week. We definitely loved the creek with the wildflowers and watching the crayfish and other fish nibble on our feet.
The room was comfy but not overly fancy. We had a continental breakfast, which changed every couple of days.
The drive to Cooperstown was scenic and picturesque.
If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, this isn't for you. If you are looking to stay where it is comfortable and quiet with a homey natural feel, this is the place for you.

Hayden Creek is a gem. Staff and management/owner are welcoming and kind. The location is terrific. Cooperstown, area attractions and restaurants are close by. When we got back from dinner I sat by the creek and listened to the water and birds chirping. Peaceful, calm setting. A really nice stay.

We stayed here for a little weekend getaway and had a lovely time! The rooms themselves are nothing fancy, but were clean and comfortable enough for us. I appreciated the blackout curtains that let us snooze until 11AM! The breakfast is solid, with homemade waffles and fresh fruit. The absolute best part of our stay, though, was the big, open area in the back. It was so peaceful to lounge in the sun while listening to the creek for which the Inn is named. We would definitely stay again!

The room was ok. It did need some maintenance. The bathroom door won't close and AC pushed smelly air. Overall the room need some coaking, a vacuum and painting. The dresser draws were damaged and the TV was outdated with not many channels.

I really wanted to be able to give this inn a higher rating. It is a super cute place, in close proximity to Cooperstown with a gorgeous 10 minute drive along the edge of Lake Ostego to get there. It's a rural country inn so you don't go in there expecting fancy accommodations, and I thought the comfort of the room and the decor was perfect for the location in rural New York. There is a really nice creek, Hayden Creek I suppose, right out the back of the inn. There is a nice seating area out there as well. The owner's parents, who help run the inn, greeted us kindly when we arrived and we quickly settled into our room. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean. The bathroom was very small and definitely needed more shelves and such to put your stuff, but we made it work. My main complaint, and it's a big one, is the quality of the water. It was really stinky. So much so that you felt like you needed another shower when you were finished showering. It was the topic of discussion at breakfast with the other guests. We concluded that the property must have a well and the strong sulfer smell is what we were smelling. I don't know if that's the case or not, but I wouldn't even brush my teeth with tap water. It was concerning. Evidently it's not an area problem but a problem with that particular property. For that reason, I'd never stay there again. We stayed for two nights. The first morning had a small but reasonable continental breakfast. The second morning, the breakfast was noticably lacking. Just a few selections and the hosts were nowhere to be found. As I said in the beginning, I really wanted to like this place better than I did. It just fell short for us.

The Inn was empty of guests and the innkeepers do not live on premises, so I was alone in the place, and did not feel particularly safe. The simple, but well prepared breakfast was the highlight. The place is showing its age and the decorations are dated. I think with loving care, and innkeepers who would take pride in being on site and caring for the place, it would be better. Without major changes, this place will be shabby in a year.
