Bert's Hideout

This was introduced to me as a breakfast place, but I will likely be back for late lunch to try the appetizers and other food options. The server is friendly and attentive but not pushy. The food is delicious! Try to pretzel bagel and you won't be disappointed. We tried the snickerdoodle cookies too and they were tasty.

This mom and pops shop is absolutely the BEST! Hands down Bert is the best cook and his wife and daughter are absolutely amazing! We celebrated my dad’s 60 birthday here and it was everything we wanted it to be! Thank you guys for making us feel like home. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend them for your next small get together!

We stopped in for maybe a quick drink, but stayed for a whole meal! This charming little cafe has delicious house made bread. The focaccia pizza was excellent. The owners are so nice! It is just off the main road, so may be easy to miss but I definitely recommend it! If I lived here I’d probably be a regular.

Awesome family owned by Diane and Bert! My girlfriend and I love the atmosphere and they are amazing to talk to! Food is absolutely incredible and that Carrot Cake slices. Oh. My. God!

This is an absolutely fantastic place. It is family run by Diane and Bert. The food is absolutely fantastic. Strongest recommend the cheese sandwich made with homemade bread and superb cheddar. A total find. An absolute must.

A gem of a find! We were passing through Fishkill on our way to the Adirondacks for fall foliage and so glad we stopped in. The homemade pita bread and pizza were delicious (soft and pillowy delights)!!! A great selection of desserts, and there was live music. Thanks for a great time!

Adorable eatery serving lots of yummy homemade dessert items, coffees, some nice wine by the glass. Nice little food menu too. Small inside, but that adds to it's charm. Counter with seating for 4-5 and some small tables inside and on sidewalk. Worth a visit!

Berts is back to normal! They used to have sandwiches and bakery items. They renovated the place and made it fancy. They then removed the sandwiches. All the people loved them! Now, they’ve brought them back and they are delicious

Found this place while Googling Fishkill restaurants many months ago, and have wanted to try it ever since. Exceeded my expectations in the realms of food and atmosphere. Went with a friend, we shared the focaccia with goat cheese, artichoke, etc. and it was absolutely delicious! Followed that up with a few cookies from the case, and decaf, also delicious! Reasonably priced as well!

A great place I went to after an early wake up call from the apartment smoke alarm cause a neighbor's burnt toast. The croissant was huge and delicious. (Nothing burnt)

This place is so good! My server, Kelsey, was so nice and was easy to make conversation with. I'm visiting from out of state but will be returning next time I'm in town 🤩

Such a cute spot in Fishkill! I had the best grilled cheese I've ever had there (sourdough and swiss is my preferred combo) Highly recommend! Staff were so welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was very nice and clean.

You know how sometimes you have to toast a bagel for it to taste better? Well, not here! The everything pretzel bagel is amazingly good and so soft.
Cozy seating. outstanding customer service. Fresh and delicious bread. The breakfast sandwiches are all good. Great variety of tasty pastries.

This place is hands down amazing. Everything from the breakfast sandwiches which you have your choice of homemade fresh bread, to the absolutely delicious baked goods (all homemade and fresh) to the hearty fresh lunch sandwiches. Their homemade cookies are also some of the best I have had (try the tri-color rainbow cookie..you won't be sorry). I am so happy we found this place which is our new go to.
Thank you for the love and quality that you bring to Fishkill. Keep doing what you are doing. You have a loyal customer in us.

Everything here is great. There is something for everyone, to stay or to take home. Excellent flavor and generous portions. Well worth a visit and right in town.

Stopped by earlier in the week and it was very cozy place. Staff was friendly and has a decent selection of bread and baked goods. The strawberry cheese cake and sticky buns were very good. They had the perfect amount of "sweetness" to them. Plan on trying their breakfast sandwiches next and some of their other goods next time I'm around

My new favorite place in the Fishkill area! The croissant breakfast sandwich was so buttery, flakey and delicious! As well as their pastries like the apple turn over. I went back multiple days during the week because it was so good. Can't wait to go back.

My first time experience. Had a breakfast sandwich--soooo good. Avocado spread was delicious. Great bread and buttery sweets. Will definitely make it my new eating spot. Seating is minimal, so if taken get some good eats to go!!!

Discovered this place yesterday, had an amazing carrot cake muffin with the best icing I’ve ever had, not too sweet, as Bert just told me, he likes to make it that way. I’m here today, And again on Sunday to take as much as I can back to NC. The bacon egg and cheese was one of the best ever and being able to choose your roll of choice, cheese and meat of choice for one price is such a great idea and sets this new, amazing place aside from the rest. Cozy atmosphere, great selections, friendly service. I’m a customer for life!

Literally the best croissants I’ve ever had. I make my husband go early Saturday mornings to get some so we can have them for breakfast. I dream of these pastries all week.
