Red Pine Cookhouse

Fantastic experience! A few hours of riding the trails and needed to stop for a break and warm up a bit. We had our dog with us and Red Pine let us go into a area of the restaurant where no one was. They all were so dog friendly!!! Gave him treats and the fanciest water bowl Atlas has ever had. Also, thanks to the Tito’s rep for the dog swag!!!

Beer and apps were delicious too. Deep fried mushrooms were delicious, but careful they are hot!!! Cannot wait for our visit back next year!!

This was our first visit, and will not be our last! We had 4 people in our party and tried 4 different meals. We were first surprised with a complimentary tempura chicken strawberry vinaigrette salad that was delicious! Each meal was truly excellent. We all took a taste of each meal as well, and all agreed each was great. For appetizers, 2 of us preferred the egg rolls, the other 2 preferred the spring rolls. It may have been a little pricey, but I believe you get what you pay for and we did all but lick our plates clean. We all agreed we would go back, and can't wait!
We enjoyed: egg rolls, spring rolls, the salad, steak & potatoes, Firecracker Chicken, Sesame Chicken (spice 3), Sweet & Sour Chicken (spice 2), steamed rice, chicken fried rice and the remarkable bacon fried rice! Well done Red Pine Cookhouse!

Amazing place! Had the best meal ever-steak and potatoes on the Wok! Great service and atmosphere.

This was our 2nd trip to the Red Pine. Like the first the food was excellent. The atmosphere is great, up north feeling. The difference this time was our server. Patience is her name, she was excited about being there, her explanation of the menu was very detailed and she just made you want to try everything. We will be back and hope Patience is there to help us again!

Always an amazing experience here. Food is phenomenal, flavors compliment in ways that create delicious treat. My go to spot, worth the drive and I always a great trip. Some of best dining I’ve had. Don’t miss the bacon fried rice.

Great food, environment and staff. On Friday night, it was busy but not too busy that there was a wait. The food came out relatively quickly and was delicious. It was a little more expensive than other up-north restaurants but it was worth the price.

Celebrated my 70th 🎂 at Red Pine. Couldn't be happier. Examples of special touches were the Birthday banner, balloons, signage, birthday card signed by all the staff and gift card. We had exclusive use of the loft which created a nice atmosphere for mingling prior to dinner. My great grandson enjoyed the arcade games and devoured the sweet corn bite appetizers. He said the eggrolls were the biggest he's even seen! Thank you Paul, Bethany, Patience and Jackie for making my milestone 🎂 a memorable one. ❤ You are a great addition to pur little town.

Finally had the opportunity to check out Red Pine and we were extremely happy with our trip. The food is wonderful-so nice to have something other than standard bar fare in a cabin town. This is the place to get good, fresh food and they get busy! So order a beer and an appetizer and expect there may be a little wait for the main course. The spring rolls, egg rolls, banh mi, Pad Thai (spicy level 2), and fried green beans were all excellent. The owners are wonderful and we can't wait to come back.

Good food (fried rice was similar to others, but lo mein sauce was different and really good). The wait staff are polite and helpful. Atmosphere is very unique. Only downside was the long wait for food during the busy dinner rush (over an hour). If you have no where to be during the dinner rush, it's not a big deal. There are a lot of board games to pass the time (they have a very nice wood cribbage and chess set, among other games). Overall, I would recommend it, but if they are busy, expect the food to take awhile.

Egg rolls are the best, highly recommend anything they make! We nearly had one of everything, large portions and super nice staff! Out kiddos are grown but Kid friendly atmosphere also. Thanks Red Pine!

Great food, excellent service. The owners came and spoke to us, we felt genuinely welcome. The servings were generous and well prepared. Best egg rolls I've ever had.

Lovely cabin themed bar and restaurant. Has a few vegetarian options like tofu and fried Mac & cheese. Good sauces and large portions, we saved half for the next day. Americanized Vietnamese food and American food. For being up in the forest preserves and lakes away from Minneapolis it's a nice spot. Wonderful friendly staff, made my husband some nice hot sauce at his request. Frequented by a lot of retired people and locals. Cozy, and chill.

Food was excellent. Generous portions. Atmosphere was overall very good. Service was very attentive & friendly. The video games & pinball upstairs seem unnecessary & it would help use the space better if they were gone. Next time we go, our group plans to order several items & eat family style so we can share items. It would be good to have that variety in a meal. Egg rolls were the highlight, highly recommended!

OMG we are so happy we stopped at the Red pine. Incredible food and service. Paul the owner is absolutely one great guy and Rodney is also great, such funny guys. The egg rolls were off the chart great. In short you have to stop hear you will not be disappointed.😊

This is a beautiful and popular dining location, celebrating their first anniversary that week. The staff are very friendly!! We were on vacation in the area and stopped in with 2 other couples. I had the Bun' salad-. I highly recommend it!! The dipping sauce was so good I poured it all over the salad. The veggies were crisp and flavorful, I felt the added steak was ok, next time I will try it with chicken but I will absolutely order the salad again with or without meat. My husband had the sesame chicken and liked that. Our table friends shared the egg roll appetizers & the chicken wings (both were terrific) but the onion rings were the best that we've ever had, seasoned perfectly, the onions were tender and the coating light and crispy. Can't wait until we can visit again.

While I hate to write this review because it will make even more people start going here it's only fair to the Owners. First off the food is outstanding. Have been there several times now and everything I've had has been excellent. Also, LOVE the 3 levels of heat they offer. I love my food hot and spicy and level 3 definitely delivers. My wife had level 2 and loved it. Service every time has been great even when they're busy. And, thankfully the bartenders know their way around the bar fixing all types of tasty libations. Highly recommend stopping by the Red Pine whether for a drink, dinner
or appetizers. You won't be disappointed.

Great service, amazing food and a really cool style to the building. Local bar vibe on one end, upscale family dining on the other and arcade games for the kids(ok, me).
I had the Mongolian beef that was on special and it was delicious.
It was truly awesome stumbling on to this place in small town during a long drive.

Food was fantastic, staff was great. This is our new favorite place to eat out. Tried several dishes as well as the egg rolls and all of it has amazing flavors.

Never would have guessed to find such good Vietnamese food in small town northern Minnesota. Springs rolls, egg rolls were amazing, as was the Bahn mi, but the star of the show may have been the wontons, better than any I've had in the cities. Definitely a place to come for dinner. One fair warning the bahn MI does have fresh jalapeños on it, so if you don't like spice make sure to ask for those to be removed
