Good, quiet area to walk. Usually a few dogs and usually 1 or 2 of those people had their dogs (illegally) off leash. Owners seem pretty responsible and dogs well trained. My dog is scared of large dogs from being attacked by off leash ones - but this hasn't happened here.

Easy to GA aircraft like c152s and PA 28s coming into land at Ann Arbor Airport which is nice.

Beautiful place for a walk - love the wildflowers, butterflies and dragonflies! Our two beagles enjoyed themselves to the point of exhaustion.
Watch out for ticks and mosquitoes (recommend bug spray of some kind and a “tick check” before getting into the car).

We just had heavy rain a couple of days ago, so there were water logged areas, but only one was on the verge of impassable. Keep in mind if there has been rain or spring thaw.

This is a wonderful path to bike or walk. My wife and I logged hundreds of miles on this path back when we lived on Stone School Road. The path is about 1 mile long starting near the intersection of Stone School Road and Ellsworth Road, and terminating near the intersection of Stone School Road and Morgan Road. The path is paved for most of the trail, but features a walkway with wooden planks near the Pittsfield wetland preserve. The path is about 10 feet wide for most of the way which allows cyclists to easily pass by.

One of my favorite parks in the Ann Arbor area. Never crowded and great diversity in landscape for a nice afternoon walk.

The Pittsfield Preserve is near and dear to the hearts of Pittsfield residents. One of the only places not slated for heavy development. Home to wildlife. A peaceful, lovely place.

Really awesome prairie/savannah remnant. You don't see a lot of prairies like this because they are usually the first to be destroyed for development. Lots of natives such as Big Bluestem, Indian grass, and Switch Grass. However, some areas are being taken over by invasive Buckthorn and Bradford Pears.

I personally could see this as being a cool place to conduct some controlled burns and/or native ecosystem managements. Controlled burns when done correctly, kill ticks (which are plentiful here) and benefit the native grasses and wildflowers. Doing this type of management could bring about opportunities for education and awareness.

I hope more beautiful prairie/savannahs in Pittsfield like this are preserved. It's an overlooked important ecosystem.

Prairie, wetlands and woods, looping trails, signage isn't intuitive, ticks in the summer; wear boots, most trails have wet areas.

Glad Pittsfield preserved it. The birds and frogs are too! It's a nice slice of Michigan.

Great trail but full of ticks, be very careful with pets. Pulled 15 ticks off of her and three off me after an hour walk.
