Rookies Sportscards Plus

This place is an unexpected gem in downtown Lowell. If you’re not local, it’s worth the trip from say, GR; despite its size it’s packed with fun products for any collector/enthusiast.

There’s a fun, relaxed vibe at Rookies. The owner, Jack, is a warm, friendly and “comic-al” guy (had to!!!). If you’re looking for anything specific he’s happy to help or keep an eye out for you.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a place to sell/trade for store credit, Jack gives, in my opinion, a fair deal and is pleasant doing business with.

Love stopping in here with my kids. My youngest is really into Pokemon and me being an 80s kid I love seeing the sports cards. Very friendly staff/owner. I've bought many cards here mostly Pokemon for my kid. Highly recommend any collector/trader to visit.

Well managed, great costumer service, and amazing selection. They also have great prices for Pokemon packs and ETBs and such. For instance, $4.50 a pack for paradox rift which is brand new, that's $1 less than retail stores! I recommend it for baseball and Pokemon cards for sure.

Rookies is an awesome comic book store. Jack Reedy has such an outgoing and funny persona, makes coming there an enjoyable time.
If your looking to get your books sent in to be graded, pressed or cleaned, Rookies is the place to do it. Very reasonable pricing and awesome customer service by both Jack and the CGC grading Co.

Got back into collecting hockey cards after going through my old collection from the 1990's. I had to find a sport cards shop that I wanted to frequent. I visited 4 of 5 sports cards store in the Grand Rapids/Big Rapids area. I think I found my store, I bought many wax pack boxes that I didn't expect to see in the store. Still enjoying opening them 2 weeks later. Now I cannot wait for my return. I live over an hour away one way and will make the trip again just for the experience.

As a side note it reminded me of the old card shop I grew up around that helped fuel my obsession for hockey cards.

I'm new to the area and it was my first time there. I was interested in checking out the local game shop and the owner was super friendly and helpful. He gave information that would help me meet with others to play Magic The Gathering with. Definitely will head back to pick up product again!

I recently started collecting hockey cards and out of all the shops around the GR area I found this to have the best selection and the coolest owner! The wooden nickels are such a cool idea! I will keep coming back.

Amazing place to find new games 🙌. Great owner who can help you out with any questions you have. This place is just amazing! Please support local businesses during this tough time. My kids and I just bought a comic book brick the other day and it was full of great stuff! Once again the Owner was amazing and brought out the books curbside and even threw in a couple things to help us pass the time during stay at home orders.

Very friendly. Small shop, had plenty of selection for all sports cards (new) and well priced. Not a very big selection of used, but some real nice quality ones. Large selection of comics, board games, and other trading cards [not an expert, looked rather expansive].

A lovely place for any card collector needs. The owner is very nice and helpful. Everytime you spend $10 you get a wooden nickel and when you get ten of those you get $5 off your next purchase.
They have lots of board games, MTG, Pokemon cards, dice, etc. I usually go there for magic cards.
They also have a lot of events going on including pre releases. You can also preorder upcoming things.

By far one of my favorite comic shops I've been to. I wish the building was bigger so it could sort through comics easier, however they had a great selection of comics, and a variety of other good as well, from dice, to miniatures, board and card games. The owner and workers are real friendly and personable.

Rookies has an excellent selection of comics, games, and trading cards. The service is friendly and always ready to help. It’s a gem of a store and I look forward to catching up with the owner and his team every time I go in. They have introduced me to new comics and games several times, and I always look forward to hearing what’s new.

Love going to Rookie's with the family to pick up a board game, the newest comic or all types of trading cards. Jack, the owner, is a great guy and is always willing to share his knowledge. Rookies has set up a "once a month game night" in this small community. It has been a great way for people to get out and meet others. I personally applaud the owner of Rookies as well as the local churches who help put on this event. You are my heros. Thank you so much!
