The Lobster Haul

Amazing! Incredibly friendly and kind staff. Really nice place with a simple, clean atmosphere. Between the four of us we ordered burgers, lobster roll, corn, fries and of course a steamed lobster. Everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend to anyone traveling in, it’s an easy find and Damariscotta is such a lovely town!

We stopped here on our way to Bar Harbor because of the reviews. The lobster roll w/butter was so fresh and DELICIOUS, and the staff was super friendly! We travelled on all the way to Cape Breton in Nova Scotia and none of the lobster rolls we had could compare, so on our way back through Maine we stopped here again! There was a woman in distress outside with a dog who couldn't find her car. The staff was SO kind to her, it really touched my heart.

Good vibes, very friendly staff. Lobster rolls were all really good. I got the spicy one which had lime juice in the mix and it was a bit much. The acidity of the lime juice masked the subtle lobster flavor. I would maybe ask for a bit of melted butter on the side and drizzle that on top. But the butter lobster roll is the best by far.

This is the absolute best lobster roll to be found - and our household has eaten our weight in lobster (plus some) in Maine and NH. Other places nearby may have long lines - skip them. Or don’t…but definitely eat here, too! We travel to this area every year and we always always always stop here for lunch, no matter what.

We have been a few times and the seafood is very fresh, the staff is kind and courteous and the location is good! We drive almost an hour one way to come here and are never disappointed. Keep up the great work!

Probably the best fried pickles we've ever had!! We had the haddock tacos, haddock chowder, a hamburger, fries and fried pickles. This spot behind main street in Damariscotta is a gem. The food was just perfect. Burger cooked to a perfect medium. The haddock fried to perfection. And the pickles! Pickles sometimes get dried out but these remained perfect! Seating inside and out. Lots of hot sauces to chose from if your into that. Many craft beers to chose from as well. Highly recommend!!

Small, family-owned restaurant with super kind people working there. They allow customization and I got a salad topped with half crab, half lobster. It was so fresh and prices were really reasonable. My friend loved the haddock chowder and lobster tacos

Best lobster roll I’ve ever had! The staff here was so kind and welcoming and cooked up the best lobster roll I’ve had in Maine (or anywhere) and was the most reasonably priced at that. I can’t wait to come back and I can’t recommend the lobster haul enough. This is an absolutely necessary stop if you are in the state.

Friendly service and tasty food!
If you are celiac they have corn tacos. The lobster and crab are both safe for GF diets. Bring a GF bun if you want to build your own own lobster roll!
We loved the flavors of the tacos with lettuce, diced tomato and fresh corn. The fried halibut was delicious.

We split the jumbo lobster roll with butter and it was incredible. Cute spot off the main road, highly recommend for a quick lunch spot.

Upon recommendation that the Lobster Haul being hands down the best lobster roll in Damariscotta, Maine from August at the Riverside Butcher Company we decided to check it out. We came in from a good day of exploring and arrived just minutes before they were closing. Instead of turning us away they welcomed us in, and provided the most friendly service to go with the delicious food that they served. We took our meal to go and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Thank you to the staff of the Lobster Haul!

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give this place!!! The food was amazing!!! The atmosphere was fun and picnic chic, and the service was nothing short of spectacular!!! The people were SO friendly and accommodating!!! Absolutely top notch!!!

The Lobster Haul makes any lobster roll perfectly. I’ve tried nearly all on the menu and every time I have one elsewhere* I think of how much better these are. Also the folks who run the haul are so into what they do. When you have people who care about they serve the love can be tasted. Plus the head chef is awesome at pairing the right flavors. I’m not a fan of Mayo nor am I a fan of lobster so here are my picks:
1. Lemon Dill tied with
2. Cilantro Lime
3. Butter

Lemon dill is for anyone who likes lox and dill together. This is just as refreshing and filling.

Cilantro lime is great if you would have tried a lobster taco. This is like a New Englander’s take on fish tacos and it’s so good. Crisp, zesty lime, just a hint of cilantro, juicy sweet lobster. Nothing else says summer like that.

Butter! I mean it’s butter. And lobster. It’s so indulgent and like lick your fingers good. You have to try it. Many places punt on the butter roll; not here. The only other menu item more indulgent is the lobster stew. That stew is so rich. It’s perfect for chill in the air rainy days.

Perfectly cooked lobster & clams. Large portions. Good selection of beers. Super nice and welcoming people.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt like family. Super nice staff who went above and beyond for me and my pup. If you love a lobster roll but want to switch things up, try one of their interesting preparations of the lobster meat. The cilantro lime was amazing! Don’t miss the fries, they’re as good as everyone says. Definitely will be back again and again!

Lobster rolls that rival the best places in Maine. If you’re visiting you have to try this place out, the jumbo roll is perfect for those with big appetites and the sliders are a great way to get a little bit of everything. Extremely nice staff and really chill environment!

This place was awesome! The staff was so fun and friendly! We finally got the lobster rolls we had been searching for and hard to find still in off season. They had a lobster/crab roll that was amazing! Great fries and fried pickles too. Would highly recommend everyone go here!
