Amazing value and comfort in Ottumwa. The hot tub was extra hot but the pool cools you right down. Staff was friendly, room was clean and bed was comfortable. The tv did have trouble connecting to Netflix but we just ended up watch the Dish channels provided.

The gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating. I was stranded iin Ottumwa during Ragbrai until my wife could drive to pick me up. He let me bring my bike into the hotel with zero complaint. Also let me check in a couple hours early. Very helpful. The property shows a few signs of better times past in a few placed, but is nice and clean. The location is a touch rough for stuff within walking distance. Overall, though, thumbs up.

We were traveling for business and had an extenuating circumstance that we needed a very early check-in. The hotel manager was so gracious and accommodating. The hotel was in wonderful condition and updated. We very much appreciate the management helping us and their kindness while we stayed. We will most definitely stay again when in the Ottumwa, IA area.

This may be a long review but I provide assessments of businesses for a living so I am generally thorough. First, I have stayed 5 times in the last 2 months (since the day after the hotel changed ownership) and every stay was excellent. I need to say this for those who are Wyndham Diamond members - STAY HERE! They honor the Wyndham Diamond upgrade and appreciate your brand loyalty. I didn't receive a Diamond welcome bag (that was kind of hit and miss) but they had my room assigned and ready and waiting when I checked in. Every experience I have had with this hotel has been excellent for a hotel in this price category. If you are expecting bell service and a concierge, this is not your place but here is what they do have (from personal experience) - This hotel is immaculately clean with nice linens and enough towels (it is a personal pet peeve of mine to arrive in a room and find 2 lonely little bath towels). So, in addituon to actually having adequate bath towels, in the suites, they also provide a nice little container of bath aromatherapy salts nice touch. The hotel has recently been remodeled and nicely updated. Their indoor pool area is inviting and we'll maintained. There is an elevator which is really, really appreciated when lugging a bunch of stuff. The lobby sitting area is comfortable and accommodating, although not really my taste. They actually have a little "business center" where you can print out a few things if needed. The breakfast area is clean and neat and they have several hot breakfast choices which have included sausage and biscuits, eggs, sausage, bacon, and of course all of the other usuals like pastries, yogurt, juices etc. Definitely one of the best breakfasts in this price range. OK, so customer service - ALL of my interactions have been very pleasant and they are extremely responsive and helpful. Finally, Ottumwa isn't exactly known to be a romantic getaway, but if you want to stay in one of the suites here, it is worth the price to get a jacuzzi tub or the 2 room suite which has a nice living room that is totally separate from the bedroom and bathroom and has French doors between them. There is a couch, coffee table, microwave and fridge in the living room. The bedroom in the premier suite is large and has a jacuzzi tub with its own separate TV. There is a good desk and work space in all of the rooms and the lamp bases have lots of access to plug in all of my electronics. Most important - every bed I have slept in was exceptionally comfortable and "just right". I am not compensated by Wyndham, this hotel, Americinn nor any other party to provide this review. I have posted this lengthy and positive review because they have earned it with consistently exceptional service over 5 stays. I hope this helps others.

I will stay here again. The room was very clean. There were extra towels in the bathroom which I really appreciated. I am including a photo of the room chair to show that although it is not new, it is clean. The pool area is set up well. It has a bathroom in the pool room which is great if you are traveling with kids. There are also vending machines in the pool area too. Furthermore the pool area and the lobby have decent views of the downtown area. The hotel is centrally located and has fairly easy walkability to some downtown restaurants.

Staying at AmericInn was a delight! Srikanth at the front desk was exceptional - his warm welcome and efficient service made our check-in seamless. The overall experience was top-notch, thanks to his professionalism and hospitality.

I love coming to this place for open swim or even just getting a room for the night. The desk people are very kind and respectful. Tacy always has a smile on her face when I walk in and Carlos is always at the desk willing to help with whatever my questions may be when I need to check out in the mornings. Would be nice to see more Carlos around as he always has a bubbly personality. Tacy is always happy and willing to help with any questions or concerns I may have when I come in. She has a bright and bubbly personality and a willingness to help people.

Stayed here in Jan '23 for one night. The room was fine. Clean, comfortable but nothing special. A bit of noise from the other rooms.
But the front desk staff was fantastic. I was to catch Amtrak the next day but the train was running several hours late. The staff let me stay in the room as long as I needed and was very nice in trying to help me find an alternative to get to Chicago. I ended up taking the train but the small town hospitality made my stay there much better.

Even though they are under renovations there are plenty of rooms available very nice clean rooms and friendly and. Accommodating staff

Don't really know where to begin.
I called and seen if there were rooms. Yes there were. The clerk asked me on the phone if we had any animals I said yes. She said it was OK we would be charged a pet fee of $25 I was ok with that.
Booked my room online drove to hotel. When I went to check in the clerk was getting charges ready and when I said we ha a cat she said sorry we don't take cats.
I told her she didn't ask me what we had. I was upset yes, but she started going off as if I was. By the way the room was over $100.
I wanted to ask her a question she says she doesn't need for me to be rude to her. I felt she was the one being rude.
Anyway I went and decussed the room and no pets and he said we could just let him sleep in vehicle. So I went back in and I do believe I apologized I don't remember if she did.
After we both seemed to be calmed down we got a room right in front of our vehicle.
All in all we did get a night's sleep.

We had a plumbing issue & they were very understanding and let us check in early. All the staff was friendly. The pool was heated & clean. The hot breakfast was good. Best hotel to stay at in Ottumwa. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Thank you.

The hotel was the upmost cleaniest of any hotel that I have stayed in! The cleaning staff worked hard and the guest staff were nice and helpful. My husband’s back suffered a little with the bed but I slept pretty alright. We would stay there again if up that way.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years. My room is always clean as well as the rest of the hotel. The beds, pillows and bedding are always very comforting. They have a very good breakfast with something for everyone. The staff is always super friendly. I know when I’m staying here that I’m going to have a great experience.

Good, clean hotel. Free breakfast with good coffee. It's not fancy, but definitely served my needs. Friendly, helpful staff.

This is by far my most favorite hotel here! They have a great STAFF!!!! Great pool and they allow pets! We love the new owners too, they are so friendly and take great care of you.

Very friendly, accommodating staff. I had a couple of special requests that they were able to handle with no problem. The room was really clean and nice, and all the service people were terrific. The breakfast was very very good including some hot items and lots and lots of cold items.
