Edward Ortell, DO

Dr. Ortell is a true professional and superb care giver. I'm so fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to be under his attentive care; albeit many years ago. I still am pleased to say: I do provide 100% recommendation to any and all, that can benefit from Dr. Ortell's medical care.

My experience with Dr. Ortell and his staff have been none short of top notch. Anytime I've needed advice, procedures, etc...they went above and beyond. Dr. Ortell has a calming bedside manner which I appreciate. Thank you, Dr Ortell for taking such good care of me... Over and over and over again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!! Blessings to all!!

I wouldn’t even give him one star! If there were a negative number that’s what we’d give him! His bedside manner, helpful attitude were terrible to say the least! When a person doesn’t know what’s wrong, it would be the right thing to send them somewhere else. Nope, that’s not the case with this guy. He thinks pretty highly of himself. We spent 6 days at OHRC and a month before that trying to find out what was wrong. It took a lot of patience to get out from under his plan of action, which was nothing, but wait and let him heal! So now almost 6 months later, stage 4 duodenum cancer, terminal! So sad, could have been caught earlier if this doctor would have moved this patient on to MercyOne in Des Moines sooner!
Don’t even start with this doctor or ORHC, worst hospital ever experienced! So unprofessional all around.

Didn’t do the tests he was supposed to do, that he ordered and insurance paid for. Didn’t perscribe the medication he told me to take. Didn’t explain any of the things found in the test. Was in a huge rush during my consultation and day of procedure. Not impressed and will never go back.
Dr. Thompson in Pella is a much better choice, hard to get into, but he is thorough and cares about his patients.

Went to Dr. Ortell office and and told me that he wouldn't do surgery on me with my herina. I going to see a doctor over at the Pella clinic about it. Never going back to see him
