What a cool store! So many neat things to choose from and the meat choices are off the charts! Can't wait to try the hearty looking steak and chicken kabobs grilled this evening! We bought Brats too, but I don't eat Bratwurst. Taste reviews will be updated later.
UPDATE: The food was absolutely amazing! So glad we tried out the kabobs! Will definitely be buying these again!

I've been to nearly every butcher in Central Illinois looking for that perfect place, I do believe I have found it at Alwan and Sons Meat Company.

They have a super friendly helpful staff, and let me tell you a true story that actually happened to me the day that I'm actually typing this out. So me and my fiance go to the counter and we start asking about this cut of me and about other types of me and one guy waited on me and my fiance as we walked around almost every counter that they had asking me if that's all I wanted and when I was finally done I said hey I'm good thank you very much and the guy said no problem. Any other place I would tell them what I want they've wrap it up for me and that be that they wouldn't follow me to another counter or halfway around the store asking me if I found everything I wanted.

Go here, and you'll be glad that you did.
There's a reason why these guys were featured on Shark Tank. It's for outstanding service, quality meats, and products, just like I got today.

In town visiting family and wanted to find a place for quality meat to enjoy a nice cookout for the holiday weekend. This is the place to shop for quality food in Peoria. Very clean, organized, excellent presentation, prices are solid and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'm so glad we found Alwan & Sons and will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

It was good. But I think this place has a high employee turnover. Every time I go there I see new faces. The person that waited on me was verry nice, but he seemed to be not as experienced in wrapping meat as other older workers. Just an observation. Two of the cashiers were very pleasant and efficient. The third cashier has been there for a while ( maybe 2- 3 years). Unfortunately though she is very efficient and experienced she lacks having a plesant demeanor. It was crowded but checkout was easy and quick. I shop here at least once a month. I will be back, love their hot polish and mustard potato salad.

Alwans Outdoor Grill NEVER disappoints. Just a couple hot dogs today, but you can't go wrong with whatever they have fresh off the grill. Quick and delicious!

Hands down the best place to buy fresh meat 🥩 and the owners and employees are so amazing 🤩. My favorite place ! They are pet friendly too. Wall-E loves them. ! 🐶❤

Happy to give Alwan & Sons 5 stars for their catering service! I came in less than a week before a party in which I needed good food for 20 people. I would have completely understood if it wasn’t doable, but Pat was able to accommodate me and I am so grateful! He helped me pick out the right amount of food and made sure I had everything I needed. He even brought the food out to my car and loaded everything up for me. Everything was delicious (brisket, green beans, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw)! Excellent food, excellent customer service—I was thrilled with it all and I’m so thankful. I’ll definitely be back!!

My daughter and I traveled to Peoria,Ill to go to explore this family run shop.This is the most impressive meat shop in central Illinois! With such a variety of fresh cuts of meats and cheeses, as well as other condiments there is something for anyone. Staff is incredibly helpful to educate and inform on cuts of meat and ways to prepare or store them.the meat counters are expensive and arranged in a manner easy to view. They also have a large deli complete with meats,cheeses, and sides.
We had the opportunity to meet one of the sons and he was very informative as well as enthusiastic about this amazing family business.
The short drive is well worth it. We will be back!

I go to Alwan's a couple of times a month, usually just to get beef fat trimmings, spending under $10. But you would think I was spending thousands with the excellent customer service that I receive. I have to go to the meat counter and ask specifically for this product and they're always so kind and accommodating.

One gentleman in particular (he uses an assistive speech device) is just an absolutely charming fellow. Actually everyone that's helped me has been great! Last time I was there I was helped by a young lady who went out of her way to make sure I got the right product, just to my liking.

The cashiers are so sweet and polite. I had the most lovely conversation with a woman one morning (we bonded over steak and lipstick.) She made me feel like family.

This is a wonderful place; we are so lucky that Peoria has this amazing resource.

The best meat market around!! Customer service is top notch! Everything you need in one stop and at great prices! My family has been going to Alwan`s for several generations now and will continue this tradition for generations to come. Remember, the deer processing is top notch also and fast, usually get my deer in 2 days!!! You can't beat Alwan & Sons for all your meat market needs. Simply the best!!! This is a really wonderful meat shop! We live in Normal Illinois and stopped in. We have driven by many times and never stopped. At the checkout, we met one of the sons of the owners sons. He was a very personable, friendly man who introduced himself and spoke with us a little while. He suggested some bones for our dog that I believe he's going to really enjoy. He shared that he goes to ISU which is right by us. They have a wonderful selection of meats, lunch meats and quick grab items. We will be taking the trip back from Bloomington/ Normal again! Such a wonderful location!

9/1/24 Alwans's has the best smoked pork chops!

I recently ordered and picked up a sandwich tray for a lunch meeting at work. The service is impeccable. . .the staff is always so friendly and the gal who brought out the sandwich tray even carried it to my car! You rarely get that type of attention or service from any other place anymore. It's very refreshing and makes me like Alwan & Sons even more.

The sandwiches were very delicious, by the way!

This review is to recognize Michelle. When I used to live up here, I regularly visited this place. I recently found a gift card that I lost/forgotten about over 2 yrs ago. I discovered it once I moved out of Peoria. Talked to Michelle about what my options were. She was just the most helpful person, honest and not at all operating on a money-stealing mindset. She's an asset to this place. I have friends and their friends who keep moving up there for work at the hospital. Will def recommend it!

I have to add, when I saw my purchase delivered, the way FedEx handled it, I thought all was shattered. She made sure NOTHING could possibly happen it, not even FedEx' lousy handling.

I must say I love be this place. It feels like I'm walking in and buying from family. The grill outside is like your own backyard and the people are so friendly. You see the people behind the counter engaging people not just sitting back and waiting until they are called upon. Well done Alwan and Son meat company. Its like having a butcher in the family. Anyone that has read my reviews knows I'm tough when service isn't up to par but love places that treat you like they are happy to serve you.....BRAVO!!!!!
