Sweet Basil Cafe of Peoria

The food is amazing at Sweet Basil Cafe! The atmosphere is phenomenal. The service was a one off. The waiter was nervous and I had to remind him 3 times to bring our other food(he forgot to order my eggs) and I put my empty water glass with ice to the edge of the table and had to tell him what that meant. Sweet guy though. Probably new. I’m certain that’s not the usual there. I had an espresso drink which was fantastically yummy, but there are no milk alternatives for this lactose intolerant lady. The prices aren’t bad, but $4 for apple juice? Plus only because they had ran out of oj by 10am on a Saturday. $50 for 2 people including drinks and food. A bit steep. The food itself is $10-20. Great place to eat!

The customer services and hospitality were wonderful! I had to take a carryout because of the very generous servings. Most of all, my breakfast was delicious.

Honestly I'm burned out on fast food, so when we ame upon Sweet Basil Cafe in Peoria, had to try it!
I cannot rave about it more! We were having breakfast and coffee. My first reaction was pretty negative as I perused the menu. Expensive! Dorothy- we're not in Kansas anymore kind of shock took over me!haha But I ordered for my son and I and both enjoyed the food thoroughly!
More so, we enjoyed something not on the menu even more! Our waiter Jim (Jimbob!) He was an honest to goodness Host who saw to our every needs! The man seriously started dancing to the song from Dirty Dancing! When it came time for his partner to jump into his arms for the famous lift scene- the hostess looked at him and said what??? 👏 we all laughed! She was quite impressive as well. Together these two ARE the restaurant! Class act(s) all the way. They made the $$ worth it, leaving the both of us laughing and quite happy with our restaurant choice! Try it- they will impress you! Very nice food portions guaranteed to satisfy you!

Much to my surprise this place is a must!! The serving sizes are enough for multiple meals and the food was so so good!! The menu has such a large variety you could eat there everyday and never get tired of it! The staff also were so kind and patient!

We came here for lunch and all got chicken noodle soup! It was the best chicken noodle soup we’ve all had.
My mother got the tuna salad sandwich and it was fresh and very flavorful. I got the sweet basil burger and it was huge! All very fresh ingredient and full of flavor as well. One of the juiciest burgers I’ve had. We were very impressed with Ryan and his service. We will definitely be returning

Great food! Awesome service! Affordable prices! Plenty of selection! Clean atmosphere and better yet, no wait!! Our second time here and we won’t go anywhere else local now!! This is only half of the menu!!

this place is great. I don't understand some people. Some people will find any reason to complain about anything. I can't believe one of the reviewers griped because of portions were too big. Personally I think this is one of the best restaurants in Peoria

Tasty food and great portions for price. A vast menu with all sorts of options for all ages. Great place for breakfast lunch and dinner at all times. Worth the stop in today's market.

Outstanding quality and quantity of portions. So much so we thought they brought us the wrong order when the food arrived. Excellent service, friendly staff, and super clean cafe and restrooms!

We always eat Easter breakfast,dinner here! Especially enjoyed this year because Cheryl waited on us. She was very attentive and happy to serve us. Meant every need that 13 of us needed. She’s a ten in our book!

Sooo yummy! For breakfast you must have the Nutella and Banana Crepes. So creamy and delicious with a huge serving. Went back next day for lunch and had the grilled chicken and artichoke heart panini. I picked the crispy French fries for my side as opposed to 2 choices of pasta salads. The panini was perfectly grilled and delicious and I had to take half my sandwich home. Their menu is big and varied to suit any diner's appetite❣ The service is fast and friendly. I'll be back!

Great food and nice size portions. The server we had was a young man (sorry, we forgot his name ) that was awesome. Hope he gets to visit northern Wisconsin this summer.

Don’t let the current rating or lack of cars in lot scare you! We found this on Google for “breakfast in Peoria”; pulled up to only a couple cars so we were hesitant. BUT…. Took the chance and so glad we did. Terrific food, huge portions and great service!!!! Absolutely a gem and would be a shame to see them not supported by locals and visitors.

The portions were giant size.We had desert the Banana bread foster...it was big enough for 4 ladies and so delicious I would go there just for that....
The staff were so nice our experience was excellent.....

It was my birthday had a great server name Jim Bob🙂 made me feel really comfortable even gave me a brownie with a trick candle great way to start my day💕

I got the grilled cheese with fried and the meal did not disappoint! Make sure to ask for salt and ketchup if you like those things to go with your fries.

The portion sizes here are huge! The food is great and there are so so many options to choose from. We went on a weekday afternoon for lunch and there was no wait at all. Clean restaurant. Clean restrooms. Great for a quick bite or a longer sit down experience. Our waitress was great too!

Great atmosphere, clean dining area, friendly service, delicious food. We loved our respective breakfast combos (they make French toast out of banana bread!) and our server, Miranda, was attentive and amiable. I'm already looking forward to returning for lunch

We had for starters a bowl of potatoe soup...our food was a pork tenderloin and fries and grilled chicken n ham sandwich and fries. .either one of us could finish our food but wow what alot of food it was...
Will definitely go back !

Awesome experience. From the moment I walked in the two host were both nice and engaging not only to me but to other customers. Waitress was also engaging and provided excellent service, even the other waitress/manager who brought the food out was super cool. Ordered the Chorizo scrambler with pancakes... the portions wow! Food was great, service was awesome, they made you feel like they were happy you were there, and nice comfortable environment. Would definitely recommend and will be back
