Did you know that Magott’s is the oldest grocery store in San Antonio, and that it was established in 1881 by Polish immigrants Theodore and Pauline Magott, and that Magott’s is now proudly owned and operated by Theodore and Pauline Magott’s grandson, Larry Magott? Well, it is!

I know this place doesn't get great reviews anymore, but I'm a local, and I remember this store, and it brings back great memories. It is the only store in town that sells the freshest drum fish at a reasonable price. I'm glad you guys are still around.

Old style local store. Reminds me of my neighborhood store growing up, raw wooden floors, local favorite foods, friendly people who will help you find products you want. And of course, the rumor of the store's name.

What a store! Found myself just wandering thinking of what to cook next. Awesome staff that was friendly and helpful in offering cooking suggestions. The deli makes an amazing sandwich. I wish this was my everyday store.

A very old independent meat/grocery store; sparsely stocked, over priced, but we'll known in 'the hood' for southern, soul food specialties such as 'chitlins' and hog maws, collard greens etc. CASH ONLY!
