Bring your dog out and have a wonderful time. It’s conveniently located off the river walk near the pearl. If you don’t have a pet and enjoying the city, it’s a great way to enjoy the day under huge oak trees. The $5 daily dog park fee is totally worth it and they have a monthly option too. The place is spacious, opens at 10 am and has a wonderful atmosphere. Margarita flights are a must!

My dogs can never get enough of Hops!! Love the food trucks, happy hour deals, trivia, bingo…they have it all! The workers are so kind. They love on my babies every time we are there and always make sure we have water in our bowls. We do the monthly pass and it has been more than worth it. Love love love this place.

10 stars would be given, if possible! The grounds are incredibly clean and well cared for. The staff are attentive, change water in pools and bowls frequently, and treated our pooch with love. Multiple food trucks, games, seating, and shade made for such a memorable day for our family! Thank you to the owner and staff for providing this place and service!

This place is SO great! We found it by chance and went on a Friday evening to check it out. We were so impressed by the facilities and the owners that we went back Sunday AND Monday with our pup. There are two sides-one for leashed pups and the other larger side for off leash play. We love that the owner, Maggie, plays "puppy referee," and helps keep everyone in check. There are lots of seats and umbrellas and misting fans for the humans, and the pups have water bowls and little pools. There are lots of drink options and different food trucks available. The courtyard is a beautiful, comfortable place to eat. Everything was thought-out and well executed! We are excited to go back for Mini-Monday!

So much fun!! And family friendly - not sure what the other reviews I’ve seen are talking about… leash-free area just requires an owner 18+ to be supervising like most public dog parks do anyways.
Off leash area is $5/day or $25/month and kept much nicer than a public dog park. There are two sections (smaller dog and bigger dog).
Helpful employees, fairly priced delicious food and drinks, bathrooms good, really nice area and ambience. My wife and I (and our dog Pickle) will be regulars here for sure!

Love the concept Hops & Hounds brings to the downtown area. The place is clean, new and has a variety of drinks to offer while you hangout with your pup. They have food trucks if you're hungry.

For those complaining about having to pay for the dog park, go to the city park...go hang out with the crackheads and their pitbulls while you avoid the trash and drug paraphernalia left on the ground. If you want a clean place for your pup with clean restrooms for you to use, then I don't see a big deal paying for those utilities.

For those saying it's not family friendly? You're just pissed you can't leave your kid to baby sit YOUR dog while you go get wasted at the bar. I would not leave a child alone at a dog park, HELLO!

Had the best experience today at Hops and Hounds! The owner warmly greeted us and let us know about their new setup (which is waaaaaay better and bigger than the old location). All of the staff were super friendly, we had great margaritas, and our dogs had so much fun. They have a great app to pay and open the gate that is so easy to use. The dog park area was super clean with lots of enrichment activities and best of all new tennis balls for our three dogs. They have two bars and also have rotating food trucks supporting the local community. Price was very affordable and they have a monthly plan too! Definitely a must if you are visiting or local to enjoy the beautiful riverwalk and get some activity for your pups!

A very cool place to hang out with your dog. Drinks are good and at very good prices, the food truck’s food is really good (Benjie’s was here when I came), and the atmosphere is awesome. One of the cooler new spots in the downtown area.

Great place to grab some food and relax. Very nice atmosphere and the food is delicious. The wings were okay, but the southwest egg rolls were incredible!! The margarita flight was a heck of a thing too, you have to try that.

A fun chill place to hang out with or without your dog. But definitely take your dogs cause they'll love it!

Great place to take your dog or dogs and enjoy a few drinks or have them play in the playground, which is watched by an employee. The best part is that since you're next to the riverwalk, you can walk your dog there or to the pearl. Service was quick and whoever was the DJ on the day I went was doing great with the music choices.

This was our third visit to Hops & Hounds, and it's as fun as ever for our hound. It's located on Jones-Maltsburger north of McAlister Park and next door to a barbecue place.

The main thing the patrons have in common is that we love our dogs, and on a Saturday night, it was tricky to find a parking place. Additionally, a no-kill animal shelter was available with a number of pups for adoption.

There are two sections reserved for customers to bring their small and large hounds to play and recreate on exercise platforms. Also, there is a good view of a golf driving range nearby. In the outdoor dining area, there are plenty of picnic tables, and dogs are welcome, too. It's easy to secure a leash to the table if needed. Those green plastic bags one sees in parks are available if your companion needs it, but in our three visits, I've never noticed a need. And they can be used for dogs, too!

The menu is plentiful and not un- usually expensive. But nothing is ordinary, and the burgers can compete with any well-known burger restaurant in town. Chicken wings, including boneless, are served with tater tots to order. There are filling special salads as well. Hops & Hounds is known for the hops, but soft drinks with free refills are available as well. I've included a pic of the menu. Of course, we always eat outdoors with our hairy beast, but indoor dining is also available.

BTW, all, and I mean "all," of the restaurant staff were kind and helpful. Also, as we were leaving, a gentleman with a 12-string guitar was playing and quite good.

Even, if you don't bring a puppy, you probably will enjoy the atmosphere.

My pup and I love Hops and Hounds! It’s truly a place designed with dogs in mind. The food trucks offer amazing options—delicious food and great service all around. The bar can get a bit slow when it’s busy, but the friendliness and overall service more than make up for it.

The atmosphere is one of the best things about Hops and Hounds. There’s plenty of seating, water bowls for the pups, and lots of fans to keep everyone cool, which is a big plus. I especially appreciate the pools they provide for the dogs during the hot summer months—such a thoughtful touch! The dog parks are also divided into two sections, which is great for keeping things safe and fun for dogs of different sizes.

One of the things I love most is the regular breed-specific meet-up days. It’s a great way for dogs to socialize with others of their kind, and for owners to connect with fellow dog lovers. The regulars at Hops and Hounds are amazing—they’re responsible, friendly, and always keep an eye on their dogs, which adds to the positive environment.

The dog parks do require a membership—whether daily, monthly, or yearly—but it’s honestly worth it. The cost tends to filter out those who might not take their dog’s safety seriously, and as a result, the environment is much more enjoyable. Plus, there’s always an attendant on duty in the dog park, which is a fantastic feature!

A couple of suggestions: It would be great to have TVs or screens on the other side of the park so that people with dogs can also enjoy movies or other events. Additionally, it would be nice if drinks could be delivered to the dog park area. This way, people wouldn’t have to constantly leash up their dogs to grab a drink or ask someone else to keep an eye on their pup.

Overall, I highly recommend Hops and Hounds for anyone looking for a fun, safe, and welcoming place to spend time with their dog. We always look forward to our visits!

Stopped by for a relaxing, outdoor lunch on a Saturday. It was early, so it wasn't too crowded. There were plenty of open tables in on the covered patio as well as the shaded tables. As far as the dogs, there's separate areas for small and large dogs. There were a few misbehaved dogs, but most were well-behaved. There was live music that switched from singing with a guitar to a DJ later on int the afternoon.

It's walk-up service where you order all your drinks and food at the bar, then they bring it out to you. There were a lot of food options from nachos, burgers, wings, salads, etc... For the drinks, had a nice selection from beer, cocktails, seasonal drinks, etc... Of course, they even have a pet friendly menu from unseasoned meats to whipped cream. Ordered the nachos, big dog burger, shrimp salad, dog whipped cream, and a few cocktails. Drinks came out within 5 minutes and all the food within 10 minutes. Wasn't expecting much from the food, but it was surprisingly good. Cocktails were good with a nice balance of alcohol with sweetness, so tried a few different ones.

Areas were very clean and everyone did a good job of cleaning up after their pets. There were plenty of pet bags and water igloos throughout the outside area. Inside the dog play areas, there's chairs and table for owners to sit in the shade with their dogs. For safety reasons, food is not allowed in the play areas, but you an bring your drinks.

Overall, nice place to have some food and drinks outside. Although though it's pet friendly, there were a lot of people who came just to enjoy the atmosphere.

Awesome place to grab a bite and let the puppers play. The full bar is really nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was awesome and very flavorful. The play area was very clean and had plenty of room for everyone to spread out.

I ❤ this place! I think this is an excellent place for dogs to have fun and for owners to relax. The only problem I see here is that it's kind of a small. There was a point where it was too crowded. they should enlarge the big dog's patio.

Neat place, no one here Friday afternoon. Menu for dogs too which is neat to see.

Food is good, limited service when it is not crowded.

Dog loved the park 🙂

I can’t think of a reason not to give this establishment 5 stars. Well managed and maintained, we found it to be a delightful place to hang out with our pups and eat and drink decent food and good drinks. The pups were all well behaved and management reminded owners regularly to keep dogs on leash if not in the play-yard. The play-yard for big dogs is incredibly spacious and has chairs, hammocks and tables for dog parents to relax inside it. The main outdoor seating area includes picnic tables equipped with leash hooks at the end of each table so you don’t have to hold the leash non-stop while enjoying your drinks/meal. The outdoor areas have plenty of fans, misters and umbrellas to keep patrons and pooches cool. Great place for families with kids as well. A small playground in the corner keeps kids entertained as much as meeting all the pups lounging around!
