Off the beaten path...... a place where you can reside in what can best be called peace, awe, and wonderment and if only for just a moment feel the sweet soft kiss of the eternal.

Off the main road just a bit, lots of old gravesites.

Incredible historic church though the front facade continues to deteriorate. It's located along the old Parker's Ferry Road. Minimal parking available at the gate.

Intriguing spot, a little spooky, but fascinating. Sad to see the ruins had to be roped off due to others destroying them further. Hopefully the restoration project can help preserve this for many to enjoy.

Mice quiet little place, nice and serene to be able to reflect a bit on life and to get a smell and sight fir some history.

Pon-Pon Chapel of Ease is one of the coolest old historic church ruins in South Carolina. Some friends and I who like exploring on our motorcycles stopped there for a time of peaceful reflection last week. Highly recommended! But please do be respectful and stay outside the security ropes. They are there for your protection, as well as the preservation of this piece of history.

We seek out chapels of ease and Pon Pon has an eerie, remote, beauty. You can feel time here. Very sad to see they haven't maintained it and it has lost it's crown top and two windows.

Beautiful ruins of a very old chapel.

I was there today and it is a great historical landmark. It is great that it is being preserved.

We pulled up for a stop on our trip. Myself and 8 kids. We stayed over an hour. Awesome how well history has been maintained! Kids had a unique time as did i. Grass was cut and clean of debris so we were all comfortable roaming and reading history to each other.

Great place to visit & explore! This is very easy to miss as Parker's Ferry Road is a dirt - mud at times road. The actual site of this ruins is 1 mile N/E from the Historical Marker posted on HWY 64

Friday 03-25-2022, Tony and I stopped at PON PON Chapel of Ease Ruins near Waltersboro, SC. It is FREE to enjoy and experience. It was burnt twice. The tombstones were hard to read. Free parking!

I have been going to Pon Pon for years. I remember when it wasn't kept up like it is now. It is still a work in progress, but the grounds are beautiful and quiet. It's a good weekend stop for browsing old graves and some exploring. The Rev. John Wesley preached here twice.

Beautiful historical remains of Pon Pon Chapel. If you're visiting here in the Charleston/Colleton Counties area you should really look off the beaten path for some really amazing historical sites. I live here and love the fact that we never run out of places to visit.

Fascinating place & so intrigued by the mysterious well! I would highly recommend driving as far as one can muster down Parker's Ferry Rd and finding the water. Very spiritual place!

Get there early morning when it's still sorta misty out to feel the full aura of this place. It's just some ruins, a few headstones, and a lawn---but it feels positively spectral.

Wonderful little chapel with alot.of history, in the country. Loved it and enjoyed photographing it this week!!!

The history is amazing, it's off the beaten path so not a lot of people visiting at once.
