Black History Gallery

Wow. I’ve lived in Brookhaven most of my life and had no idea that this beautiful collection was just down the interstate. Glenda showed us the gallery and let us set our own pace to explore, and we even got to meet Mrs. Casin! These ladies are amazing. They made us feel so welcome, and my fiancé and I both learned so much. The number of objects in the gallery was incredibly impressive and informative, including a wealth of texts, photos, art, and more by or about African and African American experiences on a scale ranging from local to worldwide. We will be returning as well as sending our friends and loved ones to see this impressive collection!

Extensive history on Mccomb, especially its rich history during the civil rights era. Numerous landmarks and historical figures are highlighted throughout the gallery. It’s a must see for history lovers!

Great place to learn things that happened in the 60's just REMEBER MOST of them are grandparents now and haven't changed one bit.... but the good shall/will always outweigh the bad, bringing my grandkids next go 'round, I want them to know HISTORY, not HIStory, that school's teach!!!

I never knew this place existed but I'm glad that it does. I enjoyed my visit. I wish I could have had more time to sit and look through the books but I'd recommend it.
