El Charro Mexican Restaurant

Our favorite local restaurant! We are frequent diners and never disappointed. Food, drinks and service are great! Menu is flexible and restaurant is immaculate! Owners and servers always make us feel like family. Menu suggestions: Elote, fish/shrimp tacos, mojarra frita, fajitas, guacamole dip, chori papas, street tacos, and margaritas! I’m sure my list of suggestions will grow over time!

We enjoyed the cheese dip, guacamole, salsa & chips to start the evening. The cheese dip was the perfect consistency (not watery as others) & very tasty. The guacamole tasted fresh & provided a nice addition the corn chips. The fajita & burrito was our entrées of choice h they came out hot & delicious. The flan was too dense but flavorful. Love out visit & will definitely be back!

The Taco salads we had were excellent! The staff was so good to us. After we had finished eating we went to the cars and accidentally locked the keys and pocket book in the car. They were kind enough to let us sit inside and wait for AAA. The got there about an hour later. During the wait time the offered us ice water! Great caring service. I intend to visit as often as possible!

5/5/2024: This is the best Mexican in the Harnett and Johnston County area. Although it was busy on Cinco de Mayo, it was worth the wait to get the food for takeout. My husband loved the street tacos. I always love to get the steak fajitas with no rice and no tortillas to cut down on carbs. The chorizo dip was delicious!

Some of the best tacos I've had. I got veggie tacos and many places make you wonder why you bothered. Not here! These were great - lots of vegetables and a delicious flavor. Really helpful staff too. Looking forward to returning.

Really good food and desserts are awesome. Music is very vibey! Spent 10-20 dollars per person for 8 people. Prices are pretty low?!

I ate a lot of Americanized and authentic Mexican food in pass 16 years i lived in America. This is by far the best mix I ever had. Americanizer's Mexican food with mix of authentic ingredients. Very very good I was pleasantly surprised and my taste buds really enjoyed it. The only problem was that I asked my waitress for napkins five times.. and didn't get them until I got up and got them myself..

Food was great. Service was awesome. Very inexpensive for the quality and quantity of food that you get.

This restaurant reminded me of the ones I went to in Texas. The service was great and the food was pretty good, they're big portions so be prepared 😂

We placed a catering order for our wedding for about 100 people, and we could not have been happier with the food! It was a hit with everyone even people who were not familiar with Mexican cuisine. Their service was nice and prompt and we had more than enough food left over.

Great place to eat! Have been eating with them for 18 years!! They ha allows given good service and great food!!! I even worked for them, I would give them a hand at any time they are a wonderful family business!! I've watched their kids grow up in the restaurant and now they stand by their family and work with them!! The food is amazing so come out bring a party, business meeting, Christmas party after Church bring the family!!! A great place to meet and eat!!!

The food and service is excellent!

Staff is super friendly and the food is excellent! We had fajitas, tacos, and chimichangas. Our waitress was extremely helpful with menu options, got our food out fast, and made sure the drinks stayed full. We will definitely be regular customers!

Easy ordering. Accurately prepared, tasted great, well established family in my hometown. There are other Mexican restaurants in town. Rl charro is unique in their own way. Just as the other establishments are in their own way. They co exist and neither is better than the other. All of these Mexican restaurants in benson nc have delicious food, great service, and reasonable prices.

Great choice if you are passing through Benson and want something other than fast food. The food was really good and our server, Dora, was super helpful and friendly. Definitely worth stopping by, just a couple of minutes off I-95.

Don't let the outside fool you. The establishment is clean, service is friendly, and the food is AMAZING. They really know how to cook mushrooms. Best fajitas I have ever had aside from it only being onions, peppers, and mushrooms. The rest of the family loved the food too. Flan was fresh, dense, and eggy. Gr8/8. 10/10 would recommend.

Came here late on Sunday night and the place was hoping . One room was a birthday party with a whole mess of kids. Dining room was fairly packed too. Our server was on point with drinks and chips. Food was good, nothing amazing but good and very sizeable portions. Will be back if I am ever in the area.
