This office is on their game. Sick appointments are easy to come by. Refills and prior authorizations are quickly submitted. My daughter had alot of allergy and ear infections this office with the help of an ENT recommended by McComb childrens got to the bottom of it and now she's thriving. Can't thank the staff enough for all they do

I have loved Mccomb children’s clinic since I first began taking my oldest there 7 years ago. Dr. Charles has always gave the best advice for care of all four of my children.

Every time you call the Children's Clinic and make a number selection, you are immediately routed to an answering service. Once you leave your information, you DO NOT receive a call back! Leave as many messages as your pretty lil lips can mutter, you will rarely get a call back. Now, that's awful service. Makes you wonder why they won't get organized and hire enough staff to adequately attend to their patients' needs.

I keep giving this office more chances but I am at point that enough is enough. Awhile back my child was having trouble breathing she was so sick. When I called for appointment, they said they were instructed not to take any more appointments because they were short handed that day. When I finally spoke to nurse next day, they felt like it was my fault for not leaving message for their nurse because the nurse said she would have worked me in. When you call the nurse, she never answers and doesn’t always call back when leave message. I called and left message about child’s allergic reaction and a month later, we got a call from office of allergist about the referral. The nurse never called me about that. Now my child is having serious issues that’s a mystery. This office has accused my daughter of lying twice, not outright but in a round about way. And has made me to feel they didn’t believe me about her pain until I recorded one of her episodes and then they appeared to have some urgency. Now, to make appointment, you speak to someone off site. My daughter now, can’t keep down water or food and I tried to call and all I get is voicemail. They are not child centered and don’t listen. I am completely fed up. I will say that I really like Dr Harrell. She is the only reason I have stayed this long. But the office is absolutely horrible. They called me back other day to give me instructions before her GI appointment. I wasn’t sure what they meant so I asked a question to clarify. They laughed me and was like, no don’t starve her. And that isn’t what I meant so I clarified my question. It felt like I was being belittled. There is just no professionalism in this office, none at all. I could give other examples of lack of professionalism but I will stop here.

Brought my child here to get medical attention for rattling chest and extreme congestion. Knew it was probably what I had because my household had 2 confirmed cases of bronchitis. They refused to give antibiotics or a shot or anything and said it was just allergies. “They have done this before” later that night my child hit a 105 fever and had a seizure. Needless to say these “doctors” here know nothing and this place should be shut down.

We met with a Nurse Practitioner, Nicole Hutson Simone. When we came to the appointment, and after we spoke with Ms. Simone, we explained our situation. We came to this clinic, finally after trying several different numbers, to get a referral that we could take to our son's school, for speech therapy services. I explained the whole story to the Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Simone.

The entire time we met with her, she had an attitude that she did not care what our situation was, did not listen well at all to us explaining our situation, and finally, I had to ask at least 4 times for a referral note. She finally gave us a note, with a few words written on it (in code), which would be of no help to us.

Ms. Simone told us things that were not true and ended up giving us a referral to another doctor about an hour away from us, and a speech therapist also far away.

Not only were we treated rudely by Ms. Nicole, we also wasted our time and gas, only to receive no help whatsoever. We left the clinic highly upset, with no answers or help for our son.

This place is a joke! Taking my son to Brookhaven for the remainder of his childhood! Went in last Monday for a check up & was told he was fine, just a slight cold. Next day we are in the er with phnemonia! HOW DO THEY MISS THAT! Decided to just change doctors, so today I bring him back. After check in we are sent to a room and forgot about for over and hour! My son became irritable as did I, so we left and immediately after I had all his futures visits transferred to Brookhaven. Long after leaving someone finally called me asking where we were. Really! So glad we left when we did!

A more appropriate verb besides "hate" perhaps would be "despised." And to clarify, "it" is the actual facility. The place is swarming with nurses and doctors. They are all educated, competent, knowledgeable and compassionate. The FACILITY itself is awful. The building is old and dated, and everything in it is too. The lack of updating tells me, the visitor, that this place is either not making any money, or whoever is in charge just doesn't care enough about the children of Pike County to update, clean, and modernize it. The inside is garish. There is no cohesion to the interior - there are still pieces of art on the walls today that were new when I was a pediatric patient there, forty years ago. The carpet and walls and Formica in the rooms are circa 1970. The chairs, cushions, and walls are all old and have dust and gronk all along the edges and corners. There is no telling how many communicable diseases are collected in the cracks and crevices of this facility. It is deplorable. I waited for two hours before I lost my patience and walked out. I had waited 5 weeks just to GET that appointment time.

We obviously have a large enough population of babies and children that the clinic, pediatricians, and staff are inundated and swamped to the point of overflowing. If business is booming, it would make sense that there should be funds available to update the facility to something more clean and appropriate for this millennium, that our community could be proud of. In my experience, most other aspects of the McComb and hospital community are tidy, aesthetically pleasing, clean, and modern. Our Children's Clinic, full of amazing doctors and staff, should have a physical building with an efficient organization to match!
