Skidmore's Grill

I was traveling south on highway 45 heading down toward the Mississippi coast and found the Skidmore Grill on Google. We decided to check it out because the menu looked great and they had good reviews. I can tell you from first hand experience that the reviews don't do this place justice. I had the steakhouse burger and my daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich. My daughter is very particular about chicken sandwiches, and she absolutely loved the sandwich at Skidmore. I'm not exaggerating when I say the Skidmore steakhouse burger was the best hamburger I've had in my life. The meat was juicy, the seasoning on the patty was perfect, and the special sauce they put on top really compliments the flavor. Even the bun they put it on was outstanding. If you find yourself traveling highway 45 through Mississippi, make it a point to stop off at the Skidmore; you won't regret it. Oh, and the onion rings were great too.

This place really surprised me! It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but we were hungry so we took our chances! It was SO DELICIOUS! The people were nice, the food was top notch, the shrimp were HUGE and the steak was cooked to perfection! Would recommend!

Good little ole Mom & Pops type diner. They offer a good variety of things to eat from Burgers, Steaks, meal plates, Shrimp/Crab, appetizers like cheese sticks, blooming onion & other options. They have dessert options of cheesecake & drink options like soda, water, lemonade and tea.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted, you order at the counter & you pick your own seat.

The food was delicious. I had a 10oz ribeye medium rare- cooked perfectly,I'm not sure what it was cooked in like the marinade, but it was absolutely delicious, for my side I ordered green beans - delicious, a salad with homemade ranch (so delicious, best ranch I've ever had), grilled shrimp - so delicious & a roll that was pretty good. My steak came with a salad, roll and 1 side. I got the shrimp for an additional charge.

For 4 people two people got steaks, 2 people got shrimp, drinks & 1 appetizer for about $115-$120. Well worth it. The next time we come back to town we'll definitely be back. I usually take photos, but the food was too good to wait to eat. 😋

The atmosphere is good. The only downside is there's one restroom. Other than that it's wonderful.

Always delicious. Hand cut steaks - cooked to proper temperature. Fries are house cut. Salad dressing homemade. I've been going for years and never had a bad experience. They are very consistent.

The steak medallions and grilled shrimp were excellent. The baked potato was delicious. I really enjoyed the lemonade. The employees were charming and kind and pleasant and made me feel welcome. If you're in the area this is the place to eat.

The food is amazing. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Just a great experience!

Oh my stars. Seven of us stopped here for lunch for the very first time and it was amazing. We all ordered something different and were really pleased with our choices. Service was great, the place was really clean, and you can see the food being prepared. We would certainly go again but it’s a long way from StL MO.

This place is a hidden gem-- the best burger I've ever had and real cut fries at a excellent price!!

We had the best melt in your mouth steak we had in a long time. If you go at peak time, it might be a wait, but the food is worth the wait.

Food was fantastic and service is great. They make fries themselves from potatoes not frozen out of a bag. All food is good.

The restaurant is a 45-mile drive. But, the drive is well worth it. We have been going to Skidmore's for years. We have seen lots of improvements during that time. The one thing that had been consistent is "one of the best steaks in Mississippi." The restaurant is always clean and friendly staff. I can't say enough except. Try it and you'll see for yourself.

Working in this area and decided to stop here. Highly recommended. Great food and good people. Steaks and burgers my favorite here. Ribs are pretty good as well. 5 out of 5

The Shrimp Poboy was delicous and fresh,when I dont feel like driving to Macs Seafood I drive one mile to my local SKIDMORE GRILL you must try the Shrimp Poboy and Ribye Steak.

Just like I always the food was excellent and the waitresses and cook was efficient. I will definitely go back.

I’ve been to Skidmore’s twice and both times the food was quite amazingly delicious. It’s located in what seems to be a very low-key location in a very small town that doesn’t seem to be very active at all. But this little restaurant is always busy and the steaks are the best in the area.
To put it honestly, both times I have eaten at Skidmore’s, I thought about my meal and how good the steak was for weeks after! It’s that good.
It’s not the easiest spot to find, but if you’re hunting a good steak meal and you’re in this area of the state, don’t sleep on Skidmore’s!

Best steak I have had in a long time. They have deep fried rolls that are sooooo good. My first time dining there and I will go back.
