We hosted a 50th birthday celebration here and everything was perfection. The atmosphere, food, and service were 10 out of 10. I would recommend this rest to anyone with a heartbeat. Grateful for people that run such delightful establishments such as this. Worth every penny.

Back at Brian Voltagios new restaurant in the same beautiful space. We sat in the front dining room which is less noisy than the one near the kitchen.

We loved the food, presentation and dishes to choose from. I wish the tasting menu had a second choice for the main course. Se we ate from the standard menu. Delicious!

Our waiter needs more training for a restaurant that caliber. But with that said, it was a wonderful evening with delicious food.

First time here and will definitely be coming back. We got the coffee cake which is good to split and is the best we’ve ever had. I got the burger which was fantastic and my wife ordered the shakshouka. She enjoyed it but it is a heavy dish, may have to take some home. Staff was perfect couldn’t ask for better and atmosphere fantastic.

We enjoyed a nice dinner while watching people stroll by during the Fire & Ice event from the window. The parking on the side of the building was a nice touch. The service, paired with delicious food, made our downtown restaurant experience enjoyable. Nice to have this level of restaurant here.

We chose Thacher and Rye for our 10-year wedding anniversary dinner and reception and were so happy we didn’t want the night to end. Steve and the entire serving staff were attentive throughout dinner (no glass empty) and so funny during our service. Josh, Carter and the bartending staff handled our bar buyout with ease! And Caitlin (GM), Carter (events coordinator), and Chef Bradley were great to work with on the menu and logistics. We appreciate you making our evening special!

We came here for my husband’s birthday. Anna our server took very good care of us. The wine, beer and cocktail were crisp and refreshing. The spiced Gulf shrimp were plump and delicious. The cornbread was hot and had a nice crunch. The rigatoni was zesty and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their entrees of striped bass, short ribs, and bistro steak. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The desserts of chocolate and orange pudding and cheesecake brûlée were the perfect ending to our celebration.

We love coming here. The food tastes amazing and is very different from regular restaurants. My husband isn’t as much of a foodie, so he ordered the hamburger and it was delicious. We love sitting in the patio area on a bear, sunny day. It’s just gorgeous out there. They have coverings so the tables are shaded. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. The food is a little pricey, but if you love to try different foods, this is for you. We parked in a nearby parking garage as parking in the streets seems to always be full. The desserts are fabulous!

Went here on our anniversary this weekend. They presented us with some champagne to help us celebrate. Just make sure to let them know in advance.

I highly recommend getting reservations in advance. It is a very popular spot for dinner in Frederick. This is one the more high end as you get some spectatular dishes.. Get ready to relax and spend a couple hours to enjoy your meal.

We almost went for the Tasting meal which was 5 courses. You can get wine pairing with your meal, but that is an additional cost. The couple next to us did the tasting and shared it which is recommended if you want to eat on the light side.

We went with the regular menu as some of the dishes were not to my palet (not keen on Goat Cheese or Short Rib myself), you select your 3 courses and dessert if so interested. The food comes out at a leisurely pace so you can enjoy yourself. We did get some of their signature drinks which were great.

Food wise, get ready to be blown away. I actually feel cheated on NOT getting the Short Ribs (more seafood than red meat guy). My wife allowed me a couple slices and I was taken back by the smokey and juicy cut. Now, my Halibut was still delcious, but damn that Short Rib.

I could talk more, but still have a food coma from all of it.

We have been doing our Restaurant Week circuit & so far this is the one we will be coming back to before 3/16! Our waiter Steve was great & our dinner was delicious :) The pricing for the Restaurant Week Menu is pretty reasonable, the presentation really nice & the taste is on point. I highly recommend the Casear Salad (the Parmeasan Churros really stepped it up a notch). We got all of the desserts & shared them, the Pecan Pie came in 1st place, with the Cheesecake a close 2nd ;)

Recently, my wife and I dined at Thacher & Rye for the first time. We were not sure what to expect, but regardless of what those expectations might have been, this place exceeded them. The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment we walked in the front doors. The hostess that greeted us was friendly and helpful.

Anna G curated our dining experience and did so incredibly. She was knowledgeable and answered any questions that we had, and she was friendly and personable. She acknowledged my birthday as well. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and was delivered to our table exactly when we needed it. The starters (Parker House Rolls and Oysters) were beyond what we expected and the main courses (Burger and pork loin) were delectable. The cheesecake and an After Hours cocktail were the perfect finish to an amazing meal.

This may have been our first time here, but everyone made us feel like valued guests. I don't think I could have been made to feel more welcome even if we were regulars. Everyone made this an incredible experience and a birthday I will remember for a long time. Though we are only here temporarily while my wife works as a travel nurse, we will be sure to be back when we are in the area again. Thank you to everyone for an amazing night.

Simply amazing. My partner and I came here for lunch on a weekend. New to us and thought we would try it. The butternut squash ravioli was the best pasta I’ve had. Depth of flavor, nice texture, and the goat cheese inside made for a delightful touch. The gulf shrimp appetizer was seasoned but you could still taste the shrimp. It was paired with 2 tasty sauces. The espresso martini was full of coffee flavor but not overwhelming. Our server was friendly, helpful, and fast. Absolutely everything about this experience was a joy. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Being from the area, I absolutely love this building. Whatever is in it, comes second…just kidding. Thatcher & Rye is nicely situated on Market Street. They have such a wonderful outdoor space and inside is also beautiful. If you’re looking for a nice dinner out or to simply treat yourself to a nice date night, make a reservation! The wine list has some really nice options. The food was delicious, just bit too salty this one night. Other than that, I highly recommend.

We had an amazing date night at T&R! The food was amazing and the service matched. I got the salmon which was great but I have to say my husbands ribeye was phenomenal. It came with the creamiest mashed potatoes I ever had. They brought out these corn bread Madeline’s which were amazing. Their buns were also delicious and the drinks were well crafted. Highly recommend.

An EXCEPTIONAL dining experience all around! Food was incredible and the service unmatched. Highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairing for the full experience. Also, the goat cheese ravioli was life changing 🤤🤩

When my friend told me to come her in Virginia, I asked how far away this place was. I’ve wanted to come here since watching Top Chef season 6. Check mark off my bucket list!
The setting was so cute, food was fantastic, and the service was so good. I had high expectations, but they were all met. It’s a beautiful house. It is more casual so I didn’t worry about not dressing.
Bonus. If you go to the bathroom, you might be able to sneak a peak at the kitchen and see the chef. 🤩🤩🤩

Our server was absolutely wonderful and went the extra mile to make sure that my mom had a great time celebrating her birthday. The food was incredible and exceeded my expectations. My husband and I love to watch the Voltaggio brothers on cooking shows and were excited to finally get to experience the food. We will definitely be eating there again.

The tasting menu in the chef’s kitchen was an unforgettable experience. Each course was exceptional and beautifully prepared. The service was flawless and watching the kitchen operate was a ton of fun for me and my wife.

Cannot recommend this highly enough!

Thacher and Rye is easily my favorite restaurant in Frederick with food, service and atmosphere on par with some of the top restaurants I’ve visited across the country. Undoubtedly the best cocktail program in town with a great balance of well executed classics and ever changing seasonal options. This is my wife and I’s go-to spot whether it’s a weeknight happy hour, weekend date night or entertaining friends from out of town.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. This is Bryan Voltaggio's restaurant and it did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant was very warm and inviting. The staff was excellent and extremely attentive to our table as the we progressed through our courses. The quality of the ingredients and of the food was unmatched in taste and presentation. A top tier experience for sure and one that I will definitely be going back for.
