What a beautiful restaurant with fantastic food. The ambiance mirrors the food perfectly. The attention to detail given to this superbly renovated building from the late 1700's was greatly appreciated by our party! We could sit and sip espresso to the also beautifully paired soundtrack, all day. We had dinner on Friday and brunch on Sunday, and didn't find any crowds. We will hopefully return soon...c'est magnifique!

This little hidden gem in Frederick has become one of my favorite places. When you step in it feels like you’ve been transported to a little bistro in Paris. The food was amazing and fresh. The staff here is amazing and they really go above and beyond with their service. Definitely recommend for a romantic dinner or a small intimate gathering!

Great atmosphere - very classy. Reminded me of Paris. All the food was wonderful and beautifully presented. We came for brunch. Espresso coffee, not drip, but I think refills were included. No kids entrees but my 4 year old son loved his French toast. Fresh flowers were a nice touch. We liked reading about the history. Good date spot - a little pricey. A 3rd server arrived, which really helped.

We love this wonderful “old world” restaurant! The menu and the atmosphere are the best in Frederick. Owner Francis and his wife Michele have perfected this amazing dining location! If you close your eyes you can imagine you are in bistro in Paris or Italy. The Venison with the brandy sauce is amazing and any of the pasta dishes you can’t go wrong with. Love the drinks, the coffees and the desserts. If you are in the mood for a romantic, beautiful and authentic dining experience, Up on Market is your number 1 choice! We hope to try their brunch soon!

This may be my absolute new favorite restaurant in Frederick. The food is exquisite. The French cafe feel is utterly charming. I had the New Zealand Venison Tenderloin (a special), with a VSOP French Brandy Cream Sauce & Parsley Potatoes. I could have eaten two servings. The owners are delightful, their story is darling. The history of the building, the bar, the furniture, the art... Well, you will have to visit and learn for yourself!

A fantastic dinner in a bistro-style setting with attentive and warm staff - what more could you ask for? How about a visit with one of the owners who told us in detail about the food and history of the building - what a great experience! The food was lovingly prepared with top-shelf ingredients; additionally, listen to your server's recommendations, they know the food... We highly recommend visiting - every detail was special and well thought out!

Francis the owner is a great gentleman, with excellent service and quality food. The Euro aesthetic of the restaurant makes you feel you’re dining in the heart of Paris. Was very impressed with the variety of delicious dishes on the menu, as I a hard time deciding between the variety of fish and meat on the menu.

Daniel our server was fantastic and gave great entrée suggestions (lamb chops!!)

Had an excellent experience here. The atmosphere and people were delightful. The special I ordered was over the top. The smell and taste simply took me to another world. I ordered the quail and it was prepared to perfection. Got to talk to the owner/chef for hours there. Very nice person along with her husband. Will return again.

I was on a solo shopping trip to downtown Frederick on a Sunday. I happened upon this place and thought I’d give it a try. I was warmly welcomed and seated at a window table, where I enjoyed people watching. I had an excellent glass of Sauvignon blanc with cup of cream of crab soup, followed by the quiche Lorraine. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. The decor and music were wonderful and I felt as if I was in an authentic French bistro. I will definitely go back. The menu had something for everyone, and the wine list had a lot of great choices as well. I loved everything about it!

Stayed at the inn for my wedding weekend! My husband and I stayed at the top suite that had access to the charming terrace. The suite was so spacious and beautifully renovated, no detail over looked! Two dozen roses and macaroons were left in our room to celebrate our wedding…such a sweet gesture! We had breakfast at the restaurant and had the hanger steak and french toast. Both delicious! An added perk was speaking to the owner Francis about how the building was renovated and their history running restaurants. Thank you so much for the memorable stay!

This cafe is the best kept secret on Market St! Gorgeous little french café. Amazing cappuccino, pastries, brunch, and full lunch and dinner menus. Full service bar for those brunch mimosas and wine pairings for dinner or a beer after work. The inside is beautifully done. It really evokes the look and feel of a small european cafe without trying hard to do so. The owners live in this historically renovated building. The upstairs is a bed and breakfast run by the same couple. I almost didn't write this review for my own selfish reasons because the place is at that perfect balance right now where there are always customers but you can always get a table. However, an excellent business like this deserves to be talked about. Well done!

This place is a classic dine in place.
Loved the environment. The building has a history! Food was awesome. Every dish we had was delicious. Portion could have little big specially on expensive appetizers.

Everything we had was delicious. We had the empanades, venison, and beef bourguignon, all of which we really enjoyed. The owner, Francis, was very warm and personable. We also appreciated the service here - my husband and I were able to enjoy the evening and our time together without someone constantly stopping by to check or ask things. We will definitely return to try more of their menu!

I have never seen better service and amazing host like UP ON MARKET . The building itself has amazing history and tye aroma of food is just heavenly. I am giving a 5 star review for the hospitality, service staff, food, ambiance of the place . Missed my grandfather after meeting the amazing host . A must place to visit and eat at if you are in Frederick . We are just 4 miles from there and will definitely make it our go-to place .

Such an intimate dining experience. The decor is lovely and sets the stage for an exquisite meal. Everything was prepared to perfection.

Beyond phenomenal! The crab cake eggs Benedict absolutely blew my mind. The coffees are perfect and the atmos is top tier. Would come again and again and again

This place is just wonderful, a fantastic local treasure. The detail is stunning; brass fixtures, marble tabletops, and those floors!

We stopped in that evening for dessert. I had a gelato and a decaf coffee—both super yummy. I also got to see their selection of pastries. They have good-sized macaroons for GF folks like myself, as well as any other Euro-style pastries you can imagine.

I understand they serve all other courses as well, and that there is an inn here. I haven’t tried these yet, but would like to!

I went to this restaurant for an early dinner and had a great experience! The owner came by to share the history of the restaurant, the furniture, and the food, and their drinks, apps, and entrees did not disappoint!! Its a cool historic vibe to enjoy a meal!

What a delightful place - you feel like you’re in Paris with the decor and the wonderful food! Great owners and staff. Our new favorite place to go - even if you don’t live in Frederick, it’s totally worth the drive.

Up on Market has great food, great drinks, and the best ambience out of any restaurant in Frederick. The interior looks transported directly out of Metropolitan France. Definitely would recommend!
