Truth and Beauty

Me and my partner went to Fredrick for the day and while waiting for brunch at another restaurant with a long wait, we walked by Truth and Beauty, so happy that we did!!!

Lucky us we happened to try them on a day without a long wait, we were amazed by their selection of tasty and but healthy food and beverages. This was complimented by great service, everyone was super friendly and welcoming!

The location is picturesque, so If you are in the area, stop everything and go here immediately!!

The food here is consistently delicious. I’ve had the blackened catfish and grits (with amazing Brussels sprouts and couple of times and it’s been exceptional every time. The chef has a real way with fish (I’m pescatarian) and even the “simple” salads are remarkable. The space is not super fussy, but has nice views of the area. I’ve brought several people here who have also had their expectations surpassed. A very pleasant place to get perfectly presented food *and* drink.

Hands down a 5 star.

We ordered the fried pickels, salmon, and roasted peppers appetizers. DELICIOUS 😋

We are so excited to go try the brunch and dinner very soon.

We tried this place for the first time tonight and O M G it was amazing. We had fish and chips, pork belly, fried pickles, deviled eggs, and salmon bites and they were all so amazing We were pleasantly surprised by how quick and friendly the service was. The cocktails were amazing. Overall just amazing. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!!

Great spot to grab a bite on the river. People watch while sipping a Bloody Mary! The scallops over gingered cream corn was amazing! We had crispy friend pork belly over Mexican street corn for a starter, it was delicious. ! This is a can’t miss meal in Frederick !

I stopped in for their Wednesday night burger and beer special, loved it! The burger was amazing - included cheese, an easy-over egg and really gourmet bacon. The fries were terrific and the portion size appropriate. The craft IPA (from a can) was top quality - fruity and with that fabulous IPA flavor. The team behind the counter was super nice and attentive. I definitely will return frequently as they have displaced all the other burgers I've tried in Frederick to the side.

Stopped in randomly and we were so impressed! We already knew this place deserved 10/10 for service even before we received our food. Server, Maggie and Heather (mgr?) were so kind and welcoming. Once we got food, we said, this place would be 10/10 based only on the food. Wings are exceptional, fried pickles, and fries impressed. Brunch entrees were outstanding.

They serve at a level of culinary proficiency you’d expect from restaurants priced three times what they do without pretension. Plates are well balanced. Items are consistently cooked perfectly. It’s obvious they take loads of pride in the work.

We came here on a whim and we're so gald we did! Things we had: Harvest Moon drink, Patsy Hazy IPA, tot'chos, crispy fried pork belly, shrimp and grits, and the glazed and confused burger. ALL AMAZING. Also, I heard from a birdy that the chef used to make fantastic cheesesteaks at his prior business soooo, yeah, let's bring that to Truth and Beauty, shall we? 😉🤣 We love the decor too! Very niche look. We'll be back!

Consistent with quality, time, and service.

My favorite order for brunch will have to be this restaurants Shrimp & Grits version. Mimosas aren’t overpriced (currently $7, typically $12+ in other places). Come support the local beauty.

Everything about our experience was fantastic. The gentleman at the door immediately sat us and got our drinks. The caramel apple mimosa was awesome!! For appetizers, we shared the salmon bites, fried pickles and tots! The tots had the perfect amount of spice!! For dinner, we had the pot roast, crab cake and a chicken sandwich. The food didn’t stand a chance! Everything was so flavorful in more than just a salt and pepper way. The flavors fused so well together! Im excited to go back and try the wings!

We had just gotten into town and this was our first stop. We had the crab and corn chowder. It was so delicious! We also shared a burger and fries. Everything was really tasty and the atmosphere was so nice sitting outside. The owners were very nice too! Definitely would recommend 👌

The Sweet Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts were a delicious compliment to the Steak Frites. The steak was cooked perfectly based on my request for medium. It was tender, juicy, and the perfect trim. Our cocktails were delicious. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by the number of patrons, but they did a fantastic job of maintaining a positive vibe.

One of the best burgers and fries in the area!!! Great location along the creek. And the staff and service is always top notch!

My teen daughter actually shared this place with me after going many times with friends. While eating I also noticed several others food coming out and it all looked so good… especially the fried fish. Definitely a great place to check out!

This place is fantastic!

Moreover, it's the first place I've dined in many months where the it truly felt like the pandemic is having no bearing on guest experience.

The staff was timely and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is on the small side but it was a relief not to begin a dining experience with a long list of menu items that the restaurant was out of (no shade to the places who have to do this right now, I completely understand!).

One of our party had a signature cocktail that featured lemon meringue moonshine, which he enjoyed immensely. He was kind enough to allow the rest of us to sample it and we agreed it was delicious! Another of our party had a Moscow Mule, which was not on the signature cocktail menu but they obliged this request and she enjoyed it! Truth and Beauty also has an excellent beer and wine selection from which my husband and I chose our beverages: Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout for him and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for me!

In terms of food, we shared the wings as our appetizer for the table which was a great choice! The sauce that comes with them is delightful: I wish I could have gotten a vat of it!
My husband had the pork loin and LOVED IT--he'd cleaned his plate a mere matter of moments after it arrived. My mom and I both had burgers which were utter perfection: a runny egg on a burger is just the best thing in the world. My dad, who tends to be the pickiest one of the four of us, had the Blackened Catfish and could not say enough about how good it was. He's very sensitive to spice and our server was very professional and answered some questions for him about how spicy various dishes were and this helped him choose something that he really enjoyed a lot.

The only item that I might potentially recommend this establishment consider revising, is the font size used in the menus for the menu item descriptors. I am relatively young with relatively good eyes and even my young, good eyes had a pretty tough time reading this very small print. The menu item titles are just fine -- we can see those beautifully -- but the bit underneath where the accompaniments, sauce, and other descriptors are listed -- is rather difficult.

The environment in the dining room is quite pleasant for a number of reasons: the music was at the exact correct volume, it was very clean inside, the decor is lovely, and the restrooms feature some fun art, inclusive signs, and are of a size that make it relatively easy for a person using a mobility aid (wheelchair or otherwise) to maneuver in and out.

Pro tip: If visiting this establishment with a person who requires mobility aids (or tiny humans who require strollers), you have two options for accessible entry. You can enter from the Carroll Creek side (near Structures salon) and come up the ramp which will bring you right to the front door of the restaurant; or you may enter through the rear of the building (the door that faces the parking garage), take the elevator to floor one, exit the building (on the Carroll Creek side), Truth and Beauty will be a few doors down on your right.

This is a great little place that brings it all together in a beautiful setting on the creek. The staff is super friendly and efficient the food is awesome and the atmosphere is perfect.

We have somehow not eaten here (before visiting twice in the last two weeks) but that will change. All of our entrees have been really good, with nice touches like heirloom tomatoes as garnishes. The other couple we ate with was impressed as well.

We plan on making it a regular stop as we eat around town and are looking forward to bringing out of town guests here as well.

A pleasant and homey dining place situated near the Market Street promande end of beautiful Carroll Creek. The grilled scallops and pork meat balls were both delicious with flavor. The owner's son Sam attentively helped us to good choices of drink and food. We will definitely go back to try out more from the restaurant's enticing menus.

Very cute place to eat lunch. Staff is Fri. Not crowded on a weekend. Outdoor seating area. Great food. Not expensive. Beautiful art work to enjoy 😉

Well now, this is perhaps the best surprise visit we have had. Food is awesome and not your typical fare. Our server was above and beyond. Thank you Maureen. We had a blast! 10/10
