Used this park to do a seafood bbq... I'm from out of town and this was definitely a great place to unwind and cook some food. They have camping spots for tents and campers, plus cabin rentals. I saw the cabins and they look really nice from the outside and they are situated over the water. You can dock a boat or fish from them. Thinking bout renting one and having a family gathering for Thanksgiving.

Quiet nights this close to New Orleans. We were 20 mins from downtown. The campsite pads are a little tight for bigger rigs, but they are spaced apart. No sewer, but they do have a dump station. Water and electricity were good. We didn't use the showers, but they looked clean and well kept. While we were there, we took a carriage ride tour around the French Quarter from Royal Carriages. I would recommend this campground for visiting NOLA

I had a great time riding through Bayou Segnette State Park. ( The word Segnette
means BLESSED) means It cost $3 per person in the car for a Drive Thru.My daughter from Hawaii is a Navy Veteran so it was free for us 4 people. It was a nice , nature Adventure! I was told by the nice young man who checked us in The Big Cabins had to be rebuilt after the Hurricane.Even though they are doing some construction in a certain area. & The pool is closed for now , I still enjoyed the outing today. Wow!! Beautiful park! The cabins are literally floating on the water! The camp ground was Betty nice with walking paths all around, friendly neighbors and kind staff. The drive to New Orleans was only about 20 minutes, and our swamp tour was right next door! Really great experience.

Update 2024: Love this place but after a rain, it is a mosquito-ridden place. The restroom had a puddle of water in front of it and it wasnt as well cared for as 2023 but still, its a very nice park with good access to New Orleans if u have a car.
2023: The best campground ever! Not only is it beautiful, it is well-equipped. Each space has a deck in addition to a picnic table and fire pit. The bath house was immaculate and has doors on the showers and deep wide sinks. Most impressive is the air conditioner which comes on just as it starts to feel too warm. The laundry room is ample with 2 washers and 2 dryers and is also air conditioned. Theres a nice jungle gym just outside for the kids to play on while waiting. You can use Pay Range, an app you download on your phone to pay instead of coins. Very handy. We found it takes a good 20 mins. It's handy once u get used to it. We were able to get a Saturdat night reservation, too.

I love the place with scenic floating cabins and if you like to walk or do biking in the trails, you can. you can kayak too, or fishing, it is a lovely place to visit.

Staying in Cabin 3, the cabin was very clean upon arrival and spacious for a family. If you have motion sickness, bare in mind these cabins are floating on water. Most of the time you barely feel it but we did have some jolts last night and my pup couldn't relax. Internet connection is better than expected, I have camped in the campground in the past and it was non-existent so either it's better at the cabins or they have improved. Good spacing between cabins so unless your neighbors are loud, you don't hear them.

The cabins are amazing. We rented in April and didn't have any major mosquito or bug issues either. I just found out there may be manatee in the area also. Beautiful place...

Awesome place to park your vehicle and to dock your boat. If you go behind westwego shrimp lot you don't have to pay to park or anything. Be going since I was a child and get went the other day.

Second time staying here. This state is located 12 miles from downtown New Orleans with easy access to the city it makes it a perfect place to stay. The park has modern facilities and offers paved level sites with water and electricity. Dump station available.

So glad we seen these on our airboat tour otherwise we would have never had a clue they existed. After learning about them we headed their to book the cabin for the night. Highly recommend! Way cooler then a hotel. Clean, private, quiet. Hot water for showering. Full kitchen. Alligators were swimming all around us was super neat

LOVED IT! We stopped by and tent camped on a roadtrip to the ocean. Close enough to the French market area yet far enough away to feel like you are off in a secluded area. Showers, restrooms, the park itself were all very clean and kept up with beautifully. Jerome was so sweet and helpful! State parks are a great alternative to pricey hotels and rv parks. We promise to stay longer next time!!

Bayou Segnette State Park is a hidden gem just outside of NOLA. The park, including the restrooms, was very clean. I camped there for 2 nights and was impressed. The sites were well maintained. However, I did not feel comfortable using the boat launch to launch my kayak with all the motorized boats in the area.

We stayed at Bayou Segnette SP for 3 weeks in the campground. We stayed at sites 56 and 66 in our RV. The campground is surprisingly quiet, clean, has some nice walking paths on boardwalks throughout, and has enough trees and nature between each spot that you don't feel like you can hold hands with your neighbor through your RV window.

The park is within 20 minutes of lots of great food options, and 20 minutes from the Algiers Point ferry, which goes directly into the French Quarter for $2 per person each way. We went during Mardi Gras and the ferry was a great way to get in and out, but finding a parking spot by the ferry was difficult. Uber and Lyft rides during MG range about $60 each way plus tip, and can be difficult to come by from the park, so don't rely on that, especially during peak festival times. We had multiple drivers cancel on us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Really nice cabins, only thing that could make it better would be if they had a boiling area and better barbecue pit at each cabin.

This was our first real RV experience and it was a great place. Clean, plenty of space, and close enough to New Orleans to enjoy but far enough away to feel like you are in the wilderness a bit.

Wonderful place to find yourself in nature. It's about as close to Mother Nature as you're gonna get if you want to find it locally. It really is beautiful. I brought my children to play there and walk through the trails many times as they were growing up just as my older brother had brought me so many times as a child. It's basically a staple if you've grown up in the Westwego, Bridge City, Avondale or Marrero area.. if you've never been, I suggest you go see for yourself. There's nothing about it that you'd regret.

Well maintained park with a rural feel. Large sites with patios, grill and fire ring; water & electric services. Some sites have decks. Great bike riding park. Park has wave pool, pool and cabins. Close to downtown New Orleans and French Quarter.

The staff is wonderful. If there are problems, it is usually from campers, spitting, or not flushing. For some reason, St. Bernard camper's were friendlier. LOL.

I did see Cardinals, beautiful Green Finchs, Crows, Vulture, amongst other birds. Other animals are Racoons, Armadillos, Lizards, Frogs and 🐈 s. It is fun camping experience, w nature. The Trails are sweet.
