Hometown Harvest Kitchen

Hometown Harvest Kitchen is a recent addition to the restaurant scene in Frederick and their food is delicious. They also just opened their bar. South Mountain Creamery sources the restaurant with excellent ice cream and local farm fresh ingredients. I've been a happy customer of South Mountain Creamery for several years and was glad to have the opportunity to stop in and enjoy their restaurant with my family. We were able to speak with the chef and the rest of the staff and really enjoyed our time. My family was visiting from Maine and it was great to be able to show them there is more to the National Capital Region than city life in downtown DC. My husband and I fell in love with Frederick...came back the very next weekend. Thanks for the great food and company. Look forward to coming back soon. :-)

I made a reservation on OpenTable and noted that we were celebrating my son’s 4th birthday. When we arrived they had made him a personalized birthday hat. All the food we ordered was absolutely delicious, especially the fried chicken! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The entire visit was a memorable experience that ended with free ice cream for the birthday boy! I love to support local, and I can’t think of a better way or place! Thanks for a great birthday dinner for my family.

Delish food and super friendly staff! Chicken was super juicy, loved the roasted potatoes. Catfish will make me come back! Kids loved ice cream!

Our team attended a networking event here and the food was flawless! Perfectly cooked and seasoned with great customer service,. We will absolutely visit again, thank you for making Frederick a fun place to be!

Excellent healthy fresh food, desserts and scooped ice cream. It is all delicious and appears to be homemade! You need to go in and try the great variety, which I understand changes from time to time.

When you go in you go to the back right and work your way down the scrumptious food line cafeteria style. At the end of the line is the farm fresh ice cream.

The whole place is immaculately clean. The indoor seating area is large and comfy. Outdoor seating is smaller but very nice. They also do a lot of takeout.

The staff are all super friendly and very helpful. There is also plenty of staff. I have never had to wait. The restrooms are in the main building foyer. They are also very clean.

Since it is located on Carroll Creek parking is best in the city parking garage located at the rear of the building. Please check online for their food hours and ice cream hours, which are longer, as they change with the seasons.

This is another gem of Frederick. We will be back!!!

Food was awesome. The squash crab cake starter was a must buy. Plus they have flights of ice cream!!! Can't say no to that.

Amazing ice cream and boozy milk shakes. Fresh locally farmed food and great family friendly atmosphere.

Rotating menu of fresh and delicious food. Ice cream is phenomenal, and they had a stellar local band playing the day we went for dinner.

Two words: boozy milkshakes.

We tried this restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! Multiple options that were all fresh and full of flavor. My friends and I each got different things so we could try everything and there wasn't a single dish that fell short. The ice cream was fantastic and to top it all off they have a great selection of quality beers. For the portions and quality of the food you get, the pricing is more than fair. The staff was super nice and professional. I can't recommend this place enough! I'll be eating here as often as I can. Great addition to the area!

Came with my husband and baby for a quick lunch on Father's Day and we loved it! Was impressed with the very friendly staff and the delicious, fresh food options. We had the chopped pork, blackened catfish, mac and cheese and green beans- and of course ice cream. Loved how fast the service was especially when dining with a baby. Highly recommend.

I just had a cup of coffee and it was better than most coffee shops. I love the concept of farm to table and intend to eat there soon. South Mountain Creamery ice cream is a plus, as well. Friendly and efficient staff. The location is wonderful and begs a walk along Carroll Creek.

Perfect place for the spot on the creek. Excellent cafeteria style service with delicious local options. We had the blackened catfish, fried pork chops (think schnitzel), broccolini, Old Bay smashed potatoes, and rice with beans. Everything was excellent. Small selection of microbrewery beer on tap. We'll be back soon for some South Mountain Creamery ice cream flights!

This is a great local spot. The food is great. They have local beers on tap. I like the counter style ordering, especially if you want to have a discussion with the people who joined you... there isn't a server interrupting and asking if you're still okay. Also, South Mountain Creamery! Great ice cream for the win!

So I decided to try this place tonight since they just opened. Food was delicious! I had blackened catfish, veggie rice, mac and cheese and a biscuit. Prices are decent for the quality! The only reason I'm giving it 3* is because the only thing that was mildly warm was the mac and cheese. Buttermilk biscuits are kept in a pastry case and are also served cold. A little disappointed. I'll try again in a few weeks and change my review accordingly. (Edit) as of may 11th I've returned for brunch. I was pleased to see covers on all food, food was piping hot! Even the biscuits were in steam trays this time. Both of my requests were taken care of 6 days later. I'm glad to see a place that receives feedback well. I will easily be back once a week! I had sausage gravy with biscuits, bacon and eggs. It all was fantastic! Thanks for listening guys!

Visited during the arts festival. I had meatloaf, mac and cheese, and collard greens, all of which were delicious! They have many drink options and South Mountain Creamery shares the same space. My wife and I grabbed some chocolate milk on the way out. It is cafeteria style service and all the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. We will be back soon.

It's so refreshing to have a locally-sourced and reasonably-priced dining option in downtown Frederick. The staff were friendly and amiable in helping us decide among the barrage of options. The mac 'n cheese and beer choices were among our favorites. Also, there's South Mountain Creamery ice cream, so you can pretty much have it all. We'll definitely be back to try the rotating lunch and dinner options (and ice cream flavors, of course).

Flights of ice cream = awesome idea! Great flavor choices. Staff is very nice! Restaurant is very clean. Trivia night was going on and everyone looked to be having a good time. We'll be back to try the food....and maybe more ice cream! 😃

Decided to give this place a try with my co-workers for lunch and it was a very positive experience! I had the fried porkchop and it was fantastic, the sides were a little lackluster compared to the main course but overall I love this place. If you ever swing by I also highly recommend giving the stone fruit hay maker a try, that stuff is fantastic and will keep me coming back for that alone. I'm also really excited to try their taco Tuesday.

Amazing food! Just like grandma used to make. Everything is farm fresh & the tractor beverages are delicious.

The ice cream is the best in town & it’s open 7 days a week. You can even order Alcoholic Milkshakes, get “The Dude” you won’t be disappointed.
