I've had terrible luck finding comfortable/proper fitting snowboard boots. This is my first real season snowboarding and have been getting used boots online, have gone through 3 already. Always too loose on my ankle/heel (woman's 10, have big feet and skinny ankles/shins. Bobbie or Mark (both names are on receipt) brought out a pair that fit SO PERFECT !!! (Men's 8.5 DC Double Boa). We had already left Sugar mountain for the day, but after buying these on the way home went back to try them out and I was instantly better. Thank you Bobby or Mark !!!! Foot magician

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I had problems with my ski boots and came back the next day, they gave me a new pair and were so nice about it! Prices are affordable. Will definitely come back on our next ski trip!

We have rented gear and purchased apparel from this company for 4 years (twice a year). Always helpful and friendly staff. Great selection of men and women's apparel for purchase. A one-stop shop for the first timers and experienced.

Mark was extremely helpful and extremely friendly when I needed help getting boots. he helped me find the right fit and when they were hurting my feet I went back later that day and he heated them and helped me accelerate the break in on them and I was super comfortable the rest of my trip. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The staff was very friendly and helpful and Mark was VERY knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about. It was very easy for me to trust him and he delivered the highest standard. My experience here was exceptional. Not to mention they also have good prices too!

My family had the best experience here. We rented ski’s and a snowboard to use for the weekend and everything was in great condition. I had a personal problem with the ski boots due to having (very) large calves. They tried their hardest to accommodate me with the rentals. We spoke to one of the gentleman in the shop after returning our rentals for the day and I explained my problem. He took the time and fitted me for a set of boots to purchase. I felt like he was very knowledgeable on everything he showed and explained to me and never pressured to buy anything that I didn’t want. I wouldn’t have known what I was looking for without his guidance. Now I can’t wait to use my new set up!

My husband and I had a great experience with both renting and buying equipment. We rented the performance ski package which was great for me since I am a beginner (it was my second time skiing) and my husband enjoyed his as well since he was able to try out some longer length skis. The rentals felt like better quality than the rentals at sugar mountain and were affordable.

As for buying, we ended up buying boots since we will be coming out to ski more often and the best place to start is with boots. Mark was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the boots that best accommodated our needs. He was very nice and patient and made my husband and I laugh multiple times. It’s amazing the difference in feel that we experienced in comparison to rentals. Mark explained the different features of the boots we had and also showed us the proper way to put on the boots and the type of feel we should experience. My husband and I spent about an hour there with trying on boots and talking and he wasn’t pushy and didn’t make us feel rushed. Additionally, my husband is a more advanced skier than I am and asked Mark about buying his first set of skis and he was honest instead of pushing a sale on my husband; he recommended my husband to do the demo package and that will allow him to know what he would like in a ski to purchase. Mark is one of the best in the business when it comes to boot fitting and a great person in general. Please, please, please see a boot fitter in person versus trying to buy boots online.

Staff was awesome with us!!! They made sure we had everything we needed to go snow boarding and skiing our first time. Very very VERY family friendly atmosphere. Shop is clean and the staff is very knowledgeable. Every person there is easy to talk to and very personable! Thank you all for looking out for my family!

They recommended booth is comfortable to wear but a little hard to put on. Glad that is right booth. We avoided getting ski that would be too long for us based on their recommendation. That is very helpful.

My son fell hard on a slope and one ski got some damage. They did not charge us for the damage when we returned the ski.

Always a fun stop. Throughout the years we have bought winter gear for the whole family. Staff is always helpful. Love their home decor items - I can always find something I “need”

Mark Russ and the team at Ski Country in Banner Elk are awesome! I bought Salomon ski boots from them 7 years ago. My soles were completely worn out and I was going to have to buy another pair of boots unless I could replace the soles. Salomon told me there were no soles available for that 7-year old model, but Mark worked his magic and got me re-soled and back out on the slopes! We have also rented from them for our kids and it was much quicker and smooth than other places we've used. Highly recommend the Banner Elk Ski Country Sports!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to buy skis because we are in Virginia and we don't have a true ski shop close by. Ski Country Sports was 2 1/2 hours away but it looked like a good place to buy from. After making the drive we were so happy with our choice. We were helped by two separate gentlemen and they were super friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy. They helped us pick the perfect skis for each of us and properly fit us for boots. I was very impressed with their selection of skis, boots, and all gear. I would highly recommend the Banner Elk location for your ski buying experience. They even have some good sales on last years (new) skis but that selection is limited of course. If you're in the market for skis this is the place!

My family spent two days at Beech during a very busy holiday weekend. Ski Country Sports was our 5th place to attempt renting snowboards, boots, and ski equipment. The other rental places we initially visited all had grumpy staff who were yelling at customers. Ski Country Sports was completely different. They not only had everything we needed but the rental process was super easy and all of the staff were smiling amongst the high volume of customers. If I come back to ski/board Beech again, I'll come here.

Love this place! They were so helpful when we got stuck coming down from the mountain and weren’t able to drop off our rental in time!

I took my nephew to Ski Country to look for a new set of skis. The service at this store can’t be beat. Mike was super helpful and we were very grateful. He helped us determine the size of skis and boots he would need etc…. I will go to this store from now on for snowboard maintenance and any of my ski needs.

Mike was absolutely wonderful as well as the other employees. Mike helped me pick out Burton Step On Boots and Step On Bindings and was very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed my visit here as it one was of the best customer service experiences I have had.

The staff here was super patient and set me and my daughters skis very fast! We had an awesome time. Given the store was PACKED, I had a great experience! Can’t expect anything better!
