Lake Park Black Box Theater

I really like the Lake Park Black Box. It’s a great venue for concerts, comedians, and even wrestling. They have events several times a week, and even offer some specials once in a while if you’re signed up on the mailing list. I’ve seen people like Gilbert Gottfried and Andrew Dice Clay there, as well as some amazing tribute bands. The people working there are always friendly and helpful. It’s great to have such a venue in our little community and not have to go into the more crowded city. I’ll definitely be back, and that will be sooner rather than later.

Very accommodating and kind to those with physical disabilities. Small venue where there are no bad seats for view (though not the most comfortable). Great selection at the bar, my husband was happy they had cider. Great artists/shows.

Came here for the first time to see The Golden Gays and it was a great show, plus I loved the venue! I was surprised to discover it was smaller than I expected but made for a very intimate venue which was great. Also, the staff was very nice and friendly. I will definitely be back!

This venue is superb the great location offers nearby residents the fun spot they can walk to. As a visitor I truly enjoyedthe very core of this place which is to support and promote local thriving artist musician visual any kind of art. The Kelsey theater is an amazing place if there were more places like this society would be better.

I went here for a metal concert featuring local bands including Acaedia, Amnesty, and others. It's a small venue with a good atmosphere. And if that isn't enough for you, there's always the bar.

This was such a great night, as Swede Fest was on. Watched a few no-budget film remakes of famous movies like Alien, Back to the Future and E.T., to name a few, that were hilarious! Got to vote for our favorite out of the 10 films. Loved tonight! Thank you!

The place to be on the weekends!! Always a revolving door of shows and rarely the same stuff. Always a blast and the staff is amazing!! Keep up the great work!!!

Lots of musical talent. Lots of fun, food and a bar. It was a benefit show to raise money for the food banks. GIVING THANKS for the holiday season.

I would recommend this wonderful place for your event or show definitely. This professional team met my group’s needs at every step and we had a great time working with them. Plus it’s just a wonderful venue.

Wow. They don't have venues like this anymore. Intimate, great sound and lighting system, just a really cool vibe. They have an extremely eclectic mix of talent, and none seem to disappoint, and having the Brewhouse Gallery right next door is so great to make an evening of going to a show and having some great beer before and after. Check out their schedule and go to a show, you won't be disappointed.

On the quiet songs, you could hear a pin drop. Clean venue (no gross bathrooms) with clean air. Friendly staff. Not overcrowded (It was a Thursday). Highly recommended.

Came here to see Set it Off. Very nice small and intimate venue for performances.

I brought my son to see Steve Hofstetter for his birthday. We had a great time! We got there very early (luckily, because the parking lot is kind of small and part of it was cut off for something else) we walked to the next plaza and had Vietnamese hotpot before the show. We had a great night!

Went to The Kelsey Theater for the "battle of the bands" united way event. It was a great event and pretty nice small/medium theater for it's venue. Only criticism was the sound person wasn't doing a good job. Some bands were way too loud and some were perfect. That being said, hearing what the theater owners did in making the venue free for this great charity earns a lot of respect. I'll recommend this theater for future events.

I went to see Rocky Horror and it was my boyfriend's first time seeing it! It was incredible!! Make sure you get the prop bags if you decide to go- crowd participation is the best part. My boyfriend had his reservations at first, but quickly opened up and got really into the spirit of it!! Great date night- very clean, friendly staff, and a bar in the back of the theater! Great for people 21+ to have date night- check the listings and whatever you see, you're sure to have a memorable experience.

It was nice, we really enjoyed the Dark Tranquility, Amorphis, Moonspell and Behemoth concert. All are great bands!!! And the other two local bands (I'm sorry don't remember the names) got the opportunity and did a great job!

The Kelsey Theater is a really neat place, and I can't believe it took me so long to finally go there. The lobby/bar and theater is like no other. It's an intimate enough space to feel close to the artist from anywhere in the room, but can fit enough people to pull in some big talent. I'll definitely be back soon!
