I am very pleased. I had problems trying to get off from work to put a permit. The lady was nice enough to let me come in after work so that I could apply for the permit. I am so thankful.

Very helpful building department. Much smaller than Wellington or Palm Beach but very helpful. Went on a Wednesday so it wasn't very busy.

Nobody ever answers the phones, they don't respond to voice-mails, and they're very unprofessional. Its as if Riviera Beach purposely choose the absolute worst people to work here on purpose. Chelsea is the only professional person I've been helped by. People are just trying to get their projects finished and make their customers happy, but the City of Riviera Beach seems to enjoy making the building process as difficult and as stressful as possible. If the rest of this city is ran as poorly as the building department is being ran, then it makes sense why this city was shut down by hackers twice.

Worst Building Department in the State. Permits are 100% in person and its the worst process ever implemented. The people here take no pride in their work and make things hard for the contractors.
They will not call you back.
They will not accept emails to plan review.
They will not help you.

All they do is sit on their hands and stare at their screen blankly.

One of the worst building departments in the State of Florida. Want to submit a permit? Has to be done 100% in person. This department is living in the 1900's. NO Email, NO Fax, NO customer service. If this place wasn't funded by tax dollars it would be out of business.

If you need to do a revision for a permit you need to pick up all your documents from the building department, Fold the denied paper work and staple the new paper work to be submitted again. Plan Review is a JOKE. To lazy to open an email and add one sheet of paper to a permit for corrections, and just all around horrible service. Keep in mind I do permits on the entire treasure coast.

Giving this dept a 1-Star because Google doesnt allow you to give negative stars.....tell me how I call this building at 3:50pm to schedule an inspection, I get put on hold for 14mins and 32secs ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY CAN NO LONGER SCHEDULE INSPECTIONS AFTER 4 OCLOCK!!!!! I have ONE job here out of the 20+ that I am in charge of from boca to vero beach and i can tell you HANDS DOWN that this is the WORST municipality to deal with. Customer service is on par with a McDonalds bathroom janitor. It clear they dont take pride in their work, OR their Municipality.

But too bad, You are forced to deal with the incompetence.

No one answers the permitting lines and the background advertisement is way too loud especially since the agents place you on hold for over 40 mins!
