Bald Eagle Hiker Camper Campsite

Peaceful with beautiful views. I did struggle with getting my bike up and down the steep hill with all my gear.

Great location, the pump works and the water is cool and clear.

Lots of Trains near the campsite

Easy access to the Potomac, though the campsite is down a very steep 20ft incline. Hammock trees, a fire ring, picnic table, water pump, and port-a-john round out the amenities.

Beautiful area of the trail.

A bit muddy if rain has come through. But overall good campsite just past new Brunswick.

Beautiful spot but hard to sleep so close to the railroad tracks.

Nice quiet area on the canal. Fire ring, grill, table, water and a decent porta potty.

Tranquil and rustic.

Plenty of room, but doesn't always matter. Closer to the city, so crowded on a weekend. Water pump functioned properly, though it takes around 30-40 to get it going. Porta potty services regularly.

This site has a decent view over the river, but I'd bring something to cover your ears when sleeping. Passing trains will glide across the nearby railroad about every fifteen minutes, and EVERY time they came within close proximity of our campsite, they'd blow their horns as loud as possible.

Secluded spot only .6 miles from Landers boat ramp and lock house. Lots of train traffic that wakes you up in the middle of the night.
